B&B Mare de Deu - Canovas - ולנסיה

I've been quite lucky as far as choosing accommodation so far, but on my last trip I felt quite disappointed. I chose this particular place based on their prices, and also nice photographs, but it just goes to show how much they can fool you sometimes.. I don't usually like to complain, but I feel I need to point out a few things, in case someone is interested in staying there, just for consideration. 1. They call themselves a B&B, but I would call it just a "Bed", or a hostel. Why just a "Bed"? Purely because breakfast is not served on premises, as they have no dining room or a cafe, and you are given breakfast vouchers to use in a cafe just a short walk away. It's only 5 minutes away, so not a big deal, but for those who like big, hearty breakfasts, it's going to be an unpleasant surprise. 2. It felt like a hostel to me, as most rooms had no en suite bathrooms (mine thankfully did), and there was a tiny shared bathroom in the hallway. It was right next to my room, and every evening I was disturbed by the loud banging of the bathroom doors, as people using that bathroom didn't particularly bother to be quiet. It went on until 3am every night, so I didn't get much sleep either. 3. Going to Valencia in August maybe wasn't the best idea to begin with, as it was extremely hot, but I thought they would be better equipped as far as air conditioning. However, they only provide portable AC coolers, which don't make much difference. I had to keep my on all night long, pointing straight at my bed, to be able to even fall asleep. 4. Any standard and decent B&B will provide basic toiletries, but this one didn't. Thankfully I brought my own, so I didn't have to buy any. 5. And last small thing: they will not store your luggage, if for example you need to leave your room by 11am, but your flight/train does not leave until 6 or 7pm. Any other B&B where I stayed offered this option, and it was never a problem. Here, I had to walk to the Rail Station, and store my luggage there, ev

vom flieger in die metro und schon ist man im shoppingparadies, gleich dahinter liegt die pension mit einer niedlichen dachterrasse. sehr freundliches personal (wenn auch teilweise ein wenig verschreckt wenn man nicht spanisch spricht :-))

Disfrutamos la estancia. Todo en cuanto el hostal, excelente-- limpieza, precio, amabilidad, confort. Problemas con aparcamiento, pero encontramos lugar gratis en la calle después de las 8 p.m. No tan céntrico.

Das Zimmer war sehr sauber und zwar schlicht, aber modern eigerichtet. Die Lage war optimal, viele Geschäfte und tolle Restaurants befanden sich in der Umgebung, man erreichte schnell die Sehenswürdigkeitsorte und in der Nacht hat man die Ruhe genießen können. Im Großen und Ganzen sehr zufrieden, das einzige was mir nicht klar war war die Check-out Zeit bzw. die Prozedur, da es nirgends genauer geschrieben stand. Dennoch würde ich dieses Hotel als sehr empfehlenswert bezeichnen.

Hola. La estancia fué muy agradable. Gente super maja, el portero muy agradable. La habitación pequeña pero limpia, baño compartido y reducido. La ubicación es buena, en el centro con accesos estupendos.

Nos hemos sentido engañados al no corresponder la realidad a lo que a nosotros se nos aclaró telefonicamente, la respuesta del responsable del hotel ante este problema fué desagradable y poco menos que tratandome de mentirosa. Tanto es así que pedimos hoja de reclamaciones para que quedara constancia. La limpieza a parte de ser cada dos dias se remite a hacer las camas. Como situación esta en el Centro, pero al estar al lado de la plaza de Canovas, por la noche hay mucho ruido de paso para la zona de ambiente.

The B&Bs location is perfect and the price was almost to good to be true. Because it is quite new the rooms were in good condition and the shared bathrooms was at all time very clean. There are few rooms and not many guests so the bathrooms were never occupied. The staff was very nice and quickly gave us a new room when we had to stay two more nights. The only really negative thing is that the walls are paper thin and we had a lot of noise both from the street and from the hall way. The internet was free.
