Mercedes and Sarah were great to deal with. Rooms recently renovated. Conveniently located for Monterey and good prices.

The only suggestion I have is for the hotel to have at least ONE (1) pillow that is not huge; I forgot my 'flat' pillow at home and the hotel pillows are too big - neck ache! Rooms very clean and staff very friendly and helpful. Will stay here again.

Staff was very friendly! Pulled back covers to find a tangle of hair below the pillow - ew. Heard some outside traffic/noises at night.

Very convenient and economical. Only criticism is the use of the 'double roll' toilet paper in the dispensers which stack one on top of the other: when the bottom roll is empty, can't unroll/access the top roll since it is too thick to turn on the roller.

Our stay overall was very comfortable.

The room that we stayed in was very comfortable and well kept and a great deal for the price. And it is located in a very convenient location. In close proximity to CSUMB, the Monterey peninsula, and all the great golf courses from nearby Gilroy to Carmel.

Place is decent, clean, but nothing special. The breakfast is only bananas and pastries with coffee. Very little in the hotel other than the room you get, but the room is decent and nice.

The hotel was very clean. The owners have put a lot of effort in upgrading the rooms. My son goes to school in Seaside, We will be staying here everytime we come to visit. It is an excellant hotel and the price is perfect for a family that is paying for a child in college.

The staff was very friendly and though they were repairing their lobby we never faced any issues while checking in or checking out as they had made excellent alternate arrangement. The rooms were very clean and tidy and the best part was they were non smoking rooms but they had put a chair ouside the room for smokers like us. Flat screen TV,Fridge,Microwave and the best part is high speed internet they had. it was about 20 Mbps. WOuld definitely choose this on small weekend getaways

the only negatives were the "continental breakfast" (a tiny pre-packaged sweet roll and coffee is NOT a continental breakfast!), and poor to non-existent wi-fi. With the poor continental breakfast offering the coffee in the room, microwave, and minifridge were very much appreciated. Will stay here again.

No one came in and cleaned the room each day. It was clean to start but the bathroom window was stuck open and I there really wasn't a continental breakfast. I was told I could get a banana and a cup of coffee for free that was on the property.

Clean and quiet

It was definitely kind of weird to check in at the gas station but the hotel is newer and pretty clean. It was quiet even with gas station right out front. Like most all the other hotels in that area they do not have an ice machine, I asked the clerk about ice and he allowed me to grab a bag from their freezer.

The hotel is off a main street and easy to find. The staff was very good and answers all my questions. They even changed my room from a double bed to a king size bed for free. The room was very comfortable and clean. I thought is was interesting that the hotel lobby was a convenience store. I would stay at this place again.

I thought that this place was great for the money. Strange that it is right in the lot of the garage station and that is where you check in. My internet was a little slow, so I called down and they brought me up a hard wire to connect and it was all good. There are only 2 things I would say that needs work 1. is to provide a better, more substantial breakfast. The pastries in the shop are not really good enough and I would want at least cereal / oatmeal / fruit. 2. The TV should be bigger for that size room. Its very hard to read the wording on the screen as the TV is small and the room is so big, so you are far away. The service was good. The bed was comfortable, the room was big, the shower was good. For me it has the 2 C's COMFORT and CLEANLINESS

It was fine for a job stop but i was on vacation would chose a different hotel.

Room was OK, poor neighborhood with dog barking next door facing only bedroom windows, spartan like atmosphere as combined with a Valero gas station cashier, seemingly nice owners, clean rooms, cheap towels and bedding, lousy gas station clerks handling a supposedly historic national motel chain with a hefty room rate.

a little strange that it is has a gas station attached, but actually quite convenient, clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy, but a good place to stay.

Funny arrangement, the lobby is the convenience store of the gas station out front, but the people are nice, coffee, bananas and pastry from the store are free for breakfast, the room is modest but clean and comfortable. The carpet was stained so my first thought was ugh, but in reality it didn't matter. Was only looking for a place to sleep and this filled that need.

The actual hotel is quite nice, I was very surprised based on its outside appearance. However, the staff did not listen to my request for a first floor room, I would hate to have been handicapped and have them stick me up top. The breakfast was dismal, you get a pastry and fruit from the convenience store and a cup of coffee, not filling at all. And I read the review below about the overbearing cleaning staff and thought the guy just had a bad experience but he was exactly right, don't go there expecting to sleep as late as you want. Even with the sign on the door they still kept pounding trying to come clean, when I didn't have the sign they showed up even earlier.

Clean, spacious, courteous...for the price, can't be beat.

Enough said when u see holes on the cover ..just tells u they are cheap

I HAD A RESERVATION FOR DOUBLEBED AND I HAD ONLY SINGLE ONE. WE DID NOT HAVE FREE BREAKFAST.

Very loud area and many people partying through the night kept me up.

Not Happy

The maids ignored the Do Not Disturb sign on my door. I was out, so it is not like they actually disturbed me, but still. I also was not expecting there to be a gas station in the courtyard. Never seen that before.

Great place to stay the night. Very clean and spacious. Only issue was the thin walls. You can hear EVERYTHING that is going on in the next room.

If you want an easy to find motel near Monterey, to a low price this is it. Clean, everything working, but a bit boring neibourhood. If you, as we did, only want the room for sleeping and maybe eating breakfast in the room it is good. Walmart and some restaurants available closeby.

the room and location were perfect, the only thing that just kinda got me TO'd was that the mgmt wouldnt let me take a couple things from the Breakfast section in the mini mart at night, as I had to leave one hour before they opened. It was really petty but would have gone a long way for me and i would have rated it much higher!!

Room was spacious and comfortable. Refrig. and Microwave were a plus, but it would help if they were on a small table for ease of accessability for the eldery like myself. Had a enjoyable stay and they had a great staff.
