Parador MaunaCaribe - מאונאבו

This resort is good value for those on a budget. Tucked away at the southeast tip of the island, it enjoys a quiet and not over-developed location. The views along the coast from Ruta Panoramica approaching the resort are fantastic. Our large, clean room overlooked the beach, so it was wonderful to wake up, open the curtains, and see swaying palm trees, frothing surf, and hammocks. It's a shame that a chain link fence separates the resort from the beach and slighly spoils the view. The infinity pool is lovely, and although it was full of kids every day (we visited over the Easter weekend), it is open until 9pm and empties out at night allowing for some quieter moonlit swimming. It would be even more pleasant if the music blaring from the bar was better quality, but that is very subjective of course! The staff were all very young, but so helpful and friendly, and patient with our lack of Spanish. Almost all of them speak good English. We had a bit of trouble one evening at the bar getting across the fact that we wanted rum in our pina coladas.... which left both us and the staff thoroughly confused! This is definitely a family resort, so not exactly a secluded romantic getaway. The restaurant is full of famlilies with kids/babies, and the menu and atmosphere is geared towards them. The evening menu is a little limited: generally over-salted and unhealthy dishes, with 'green salad' (actually just lettuce and tomato) as the only vegetarian option. Breakfasts were nice though.

Hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, perfect for a get away with family or with a special someone. No closeby entertainment so is perfect for just realxing at the pool, eating and sleeping. No coolers or BBQ's allowed. Beach is pretty and close to the rooms, but too rough for swimming. Rooms are clean. Need to pay for .50 cents to fill ice buckets. Just one complain, bathroom sink was clogged and dripping water to the floor.

The view from the resort was of the ocean. The restaurant was locate off the pool and had a view of the ocean as well. The view was in credible, just beautiful.

My husband and I were at MaunaCaribe for three nights. The ocean is truly wonderful for swimming but spending time on the beach takes an effort -- bring your own chair and/or buy a beach towel at the front desk for $15. There's a chain link fence between the rooms and the beach; the gate is padlocked at night. Front desk staff were well trained, nice and helpful, and the fellow on staff overnight was excellent. Maid service was minimal. Restaurant service was incredibly slow -- perhaps just a bad night., but we didn't take a chance on a second hour-long wait. The most frustrating things: we had no hot water throughout our visit, in spite of letting management know about the problem on our first day. The weather was so hot that showering in tepid water wasn't too bad, actually, but one does expect functioning hot water. Also the air conditioner was insanely loud. With all this, I still enjoyed our time there. Sunrise and sunset skies were gorgeous, drinks were good, wifi at the pool area worked fine and the ocean was perfect for swimming.

I will recomend it. Good place to stay once i n a while.

Excellent food and service. Good restaurant prices. Very private with a wonderful view of the beach. You can hear the ocean from your room at night. Definetely coming back!!

The Inn is fairly new and very open air set up with the ocean right there. You can take long walks on the beach and go to a light house which is very nice. The food is over all good. We had breakfast included so we could try other places to eat some times for dinner. It did take a while to drive to see other sites. This is a very relaxing low key resort without alot of action going on so its great for relaxing and using as a base for the Southern side of the island.

Very nice and quiet place located by the sea. However, it gets crowded over weekend. Two rows of buildings, one seafront, one just behind it (note: hotels.com does not give options to choose room type and seafront is little more expensive). Easy beach access, beach is very nice for swimming. Many nice restaurants in the neighborhood, couple within walking distance. Accommodating front desk staff. However, there was couple issues. We had to change room twice. First had no hot water (broken heater), and A/C fan never turned off in the second. Cleaning lady was very annoying at the first day (kinda of fun anyway). Restaurant food is excellent but menu is not very big. Beyond that the place is just as good as paradise!

Everything was very nice. Front desk was ready for us, rooms were nice, pool was great. Kind of in the middle of nowhere but food in their restaurant was good and reasonably priced. Only a couple other restaurants in immediate area. Beach front was beautiful although waves made it a better place to watch or wade, not swim. Nice hammocks. Only problem was it is not very close to any attractions but for a nice place to stay at a very reasonable price, I would highly recommend it. The honeymooners certainly seemed to enjoy it!

Pros: las camas son bastantes cómodas, y las habitaciones están limpias. Contras: El aire acondicionado es bastante ruidoso, y las normas del hotel demasiado estrictas: no se puede llevar ningún tipo de comida a las habitaciones, ni tampoco bebidas. Avisan de que se puede penalizar con algun cobro si no sigues las normas.

Muy bueno. Me volvería a quedar.

Camere belle, grandi con frigo e forno a micronde. Le camere sono pulite la piscina è bella. La spiaggia è selvaggia ma non si riesce a fare il bagno a causa delle alte onde.

Heerlijk hotel, mooie kamer en super lekker zwembad. De locatie ligt ver weg van de drukte rondom san juan. Bestemmingen als regenwoud en liguillo beach zijn met de auto goed bereikbaar (ruim een uur). Mooie omgeving om lekker rond te rijden. Hotel biedt ook voldoende om een paar dagen lekker te relaxen.
