Wilmington Inn & Tavern - ווילמינגטון

Nice little inn in a great location, between Bennington and Brattleboro. The staff, Alicia and Jason were fantastic. The quiet bar in the common area was a nice convenience. Will definitely visit again!

This inn required some backtracking along my travel route, but I chose it because of the reviews on Hotels.com. From the interstate it is quite a long twisty drive to Wilmington. (I'm working with paper maps - not GPS ). That said, I couldn't have been happier with the warm welcome from Jason, the innkeeper. He recommended a good spot for supper - "Jezebel's", just a short walk away, and he and his wife, Alicia, served up a great breakfast in the morning. My room was traditional New England. Not fancy but very clean and comfortable. If I were actually headed in that direction I would surely return.

Run by a very pleasant and helpful young couple.Very relaxed atmosphere, maybe too much so for some. Very clean, good breakfast. Building in need of some care and updating. In a small town, it is close to any places you might wish to eat.

We stayed 1 night only, but we wish we had stayed longer as there was much to see and do during the fall season. The hosts were charming, our room excellent and the quality of the breakfast was superb.

For a b&b the room the breakfast was excellant the owners we warm and friendly would recommend this place to anyone. the only down side is that the town is in the process of rebuilding from the storms of last year and there is not really much to do. But that in no way is a reflection of the willmington inn

Stayed for 2 nights at the end of June. The inn is the perfect place to just hang out, have some beers, eat good (little expensive) food, and simply relax. The location is great, local restaurant practically right across the street and the brewery down the road has a great selection of local brews and great food.

The plan was to go to Bennington for the weekend, and found this place on hotels.com. Didn't know anything about Wilmington, but what a find! The Inn is very cute (though our room - Windham- was tiny) and conveniently located in the center of town. We were able to walk around town, have a spectacular seafood dinner at the Anchor down the street and generally enjoy a summer weekend away from the city. We also ate at the Inn and it was an amazing meal. I would stay here again the next time I'm in VT.

The Wilmington Inn and Tavern fits its surroundings with rustic beauty and immense comfort. The family-run restaurant and B&B allows you to know your host, who is caring and courteous to the nth power. The food is 5-star quality and served in a knotty pine-panelled dining room that is warm and welcoming. The beds envelope the tired traveller, be they hiker, skier or sight-seer, allowing them to drift off as in a cloud. We loved this place and will return.

My son and I recently stayed here during President's Day Weekend (2012) and everything worked out great. The breakfasts were great and the service was very efficient. We also ate dinner at the bar area both nights (we didn't have reservations) and although it was a very busy holiday weekend, we were accommodated. Nathan at the bar was a great host for our two dinners and we will certainly be back!

This was our first B&B experience and it was great. The innkeepers were super warm and welcoming and despite waiting alittle while for table to eat (make reservations ahead), we had an EXCELLENT dinner and great service. Not much to do in immediate area at night, but staying at inn, having drinks at bar and hanging around fireplace was just what the doctor ordered. Also, the rooms were small, but very comfy and clean. Will def come back! (also, only a 10 min drive or so to Mt. Snow)

What a wonderful place to stay and the owners were friendly and accommodating. The room was clean and breakfast was yummy! A definant must!!!

We arrived here in pouring rain and immediately had misgivings as the place looked run down from the outside and there was nobody there; just a note on the door and a phone number. However, once inside we soon dismissed our concerns as the place had a homely atmosphere and our room (Betty’s Room) was pretty, warm and clean although a little on the small side. The high bed was very comfortable and we had a good night’s sleep. Another nice surprise about this Inn was the restaurant where we had a delicious meal in the cosy dining room with a roaring fire and forgot the lashing rain outside. Breakfast was also very good and we left in the rain again, but with happy memories.

Charming

The Wilmington Inn is in a good location to explore southern Vermont. The bedroom was exactly as described and suited us. However, the dining experience was less welcoming. The main dining area was permanently set with at least two tables for parties of six - at no time were they in use. A secondary, fairly austere, dining area was set with tables for two - the observed normality. Moreover the breakfast menu seemed to be somewhat mean by US standards and the coffee/tea was never piping hot. The overall impression was that the inn was concentrating too much on style rather than the substance of their business.

Our stay at the Wilmington Inn was everything we wanted. Lovely room, friendly staff, easy walking distance to shops and galleries. Best of all, the Inn's restaurant was one of the finest we have ever experienced. The chef works wonders with locally grown foods, including a five-course dinner for an amazingly low cost. We will go back whenever we get the chance!

We only stayed one night and had a good time at the bar with John, the owner and another couple after having dinner around the corner in town. Our room was very clean and I would easily recommend this B&B! John, New York

We stayed as home base for exploring the Berkshires and southern Vermont. It's a nice little town, accommodating innkeepers.

This was a really cute B&B with a very friendly innkeeper. My wife and I stayed here when she met me over a weekend that I was in the area on a business trip. We arrived late at night (after calling ahead) and they left a note on the door for us and the key on the bar. In the morning, breakfast was served promptly at the time they said it would be, and it was delicious - especially with the real Vermont maple syrup. Our only regret is that we were leaving the next day and did not have enough time to really enjoy the place for multiple nights. I can definitely see us staying here again if we're ever back in the area.

I'm going to write an amazing glowing review for this beautiful little place in Vermont with just a couple of caveats. The owners are amazing, really helpful and friendly. They help you with your luggage and hand out board games to play. The room was beautiful and clean. The bath was big and luxurious. The room was small but very nice. Unfortunately the bed was a huge problem for me. I have a back injury, and the super soft sinky mattress, meant I couldn't sleep all night. My girlfriend doesn't have a back problem and she said she couldn't have stayed another night without herself getting a back problem. The only other negative, is that we specifically chose this place based on reviews of the restaurant, and unfortunately it was closed during our stay, so I would recommend calling to ask what the status of their restaurant is.

The Wilmington Inn was amazing...the owners are incredibly nice, accommodating and welcoming. Not to mention they are great cooks! The breakfast were so amazing. High quality ingredients, great cooking and a variety of choices (both in food and beverage). The beds were more comfortable than my bed at home! Overall it was cosy, clean, yummy and left me not wanting to leave. The town is quaint, full of unique shops, great recreation and the nicest people. Highly recommended!

Extremely wonderful place! This B&B was nicely situated in a cute little town. The food in the restaurant is excellent. The owners were very friendly. The room was comfortable. The only thing with the room is it's not very private. You can hear noise from the 1st floor. Nothing too loud but it's still not quiet. But other than that, a great experience staying here.

We absolutely LOVED the Wilmington Inn & Tavern. John and Rachel, the proprieters, were incredibly hospitable and welcoming. The food was exceptional, all farm-to-table, fresh, local, and delicious! We would come back any season of the year to stay there again. It is also within walking distance to the town of Wilmington, VT, which has great local pubs, cafes, ski/snowboard shops and restaurants. We highly recommend this B&B to any travelers to stay at this lovely establishment any season of the year!

My husband and I travelled to Vermont for the first time and had a wonderfull stay at the Wilmington Inn. The Innkeepers were so friendly and knowledgeable about the area. They were wonderful hosts and made us feel welcome and relaxed. The current innkeepers bought the property over a year ago and have done amazing renovations. The decor is subtle yet sophisticated and doesn't resemble Grandma's house like alot of other small inns do! The rooms were the right size and were very clean and comfortable. We spent Thaksgiving dinner at the Inn and the dinning room was packed with locals who rave about the food. After our meal, we had to concur. The food was "farm to table" and everything tasted amazing and fresh. They did not skip a single detail! My husband and I have vowed to return to the Wilmington Inn again!

Our hosts were a very friendly couple fairly new to the business who bent over backwards to accomadate us.The breakfast was delicious and even though they were busy serving they made it a point to stop at every table.They not only tendered to your needs but engaged in conversation as well.We were sorry to leave as we enjoyed our stay and can't wait to return.I highly recomend the Wilmington House in Vermont as a must stay b&b

Very nice accomodation, rooms had lots of personality. Staff was very friendly, but sometimes bit hard to find when needed. Restaurant was fine-dining with delicious food and breakfast was excellent.

I was amazed at how wonderful this Inn was. It was quaint, but with plenty of space and charm. The staff were so sweet and helpful, the rooms were lovely, and the food was incredible. I was amazed at the breakfast that was included with the rate, it was some of the best food I have ever eaten. The town was just as charming and easy to walk to and through. My husband and I will definitely be returning, and will highly be recommending to friends.

The breakfast was absolutely amazing. That food alone made visiting Vermont worth it.

I really enjoyed staying in the Wilmington Inn(renamed from red shutter) and consider it a must for foodees like me. There is a livein chef that cooks breakfast(included) lunch and dinner. I had the 5 course tasting menu for $25 without wine and $40 with wine. The room was packed. The Inn is beautiful with a location onRte. 9 which runs completely East to West in the state of Vermont. Loved meeting Rachel and John, the owners.

Leider gibt es momentan kein Restaurant in der Inn, dafür aber etliche Restaurants in der Nähe. Die Bar im Haus halten die jungen Gastgeber aber geöffnet. Das im Preis enthaltene Frühstück wird individuell zubereitet und in freundlichem, rustikalen Ambiente serviert. Das Haus liegt unweit des Zentrums des kleinen Ortes und dennoch relativ ruhig.

Angenehme Atmosphäre, sehr nette Gastgeber und Personal, romantisches Ambiente
