quality service and very clean

My room was at the far end and I cannot say there was a wifi connection in my room at all but in the ad it says that there is! I was really disappointed. When i checked in, there was a lady who doesn't speak -not even 1 word of- english. we couldn't communicate at all and she started to yell!! The location of the hostal is great, and easy to find, extremely close to the center of madrid. The metro system is excellent so traveling anywhere is the easiest.

It was a pleasant and comfortable stay in Madrid. It really set the standard for the class of hotel it belong too. Nevermind the window view. Although we were initial lost (Restaurante Las Fuentes)when we get down the metro and finding the entrance of the hotel (its beside some kind of 'leather making/architect shop-look for a small speaker on the right side of a big wooden door and head up to the 1st level - 2nd level in SG context), after checking in, do a lil of exploring, you discover the hotel is within walking distance of Plaza Mayor where you can get the Madrid card (Tourist Information) and souvenirs. I recommend for those looking for a really reasonable price with a good location.

This hostel is in an excellent position for visiting Madrid. Overall it is good value for money

it's kind of hard to locate the address. the rooms are small, but it's CLEAN and the location is CLOSE TO EVERYTHING.

This was a very good hostal, overall I like it and I think I would definitely come back. Here are some things you should be aware of THE GOOD -AWSOME LOCATION, very close to metro and a lot of places of interest. -CLEAN -Friendly staff -Free Wi-Fi -really good looking ONCE YOU GO INSIDE -PRICE THE BAD A little smaller than you might expect. I made the mistake of booking their cheapest room, and it turned out to be a little bigger than a walking closet here at home. I changed to one of the bigger ones immediately, but if you are by yourself and don't have too much luggage you should be fine. Inside the place looks great, but from the outside it's an apartment building. A very old apartment building. you might have trouble finding it your first time there. and to make matters worse, streets all over Madrid are not very well marked. depending on what room you end up with, your Wi-Fi reception may not be all that great, check before you unpack. the phone inside the room can't make outbound calls

Weird setting, you cannot even see it's a hotel from the outside. As a single gilr you need someone to follow you home. Reception hardly speaks English. Very loud, you got waken up by receptionist loud voice or neighbours. TV not working. Positive was clean and great location.

The Hostal is all that you need for the price you pay. Also the people that work there are so nice and helpful. I'll be back!!

You definitely get you bang for your buck here. This place was soooo clean and very inexpensive. If I ever return to Madrid there is no doubt where I am staying. The staff was extremely helpful and very friendly. I would recommend this place to anyone.

I stayed at this hostal which seems more like a hotel for 3 nights. My room was small but comfortable and seeing as it was just me staying it was suitable. It's in a great location to many of the sights and i felt very safe. It was very clean and my room was quiet. Overall it was a pleasant stay and i would return to this hostal again.

Don't expect a lot but its clean and easy to access from the metro. Room was very, very small but I expected that and it was fine, bed is not super comfortable but ok.

Considering that this hotel is very central, our room was not noisy as it is situated in a quiet street just off the main thouroughfare. The hotel is a floor in an apartment block, but this seems quite normal for Madrid. A great feature is that it is within walking distance to all the Places of Interest in the city. With our own front door key, we came and went at any time of the night and day and nearly always found a helpful face at reception. The room was small but well maintained. However, there were no coffee or tea making facilities nor breakfast included in the price. This was not a problem as just outside the hotel there were great bars and coffee shops for the morning and fantastic restuarants for our evening meals.

This is a great hostal, right off the Opera Metro stop in Plaza Isabel II and just a few blocks down from the central Plaza del Sol. If you are taking the Metro from the airport, it is very easy (get a map from the Tourist Information booth), but be forewarned that there are a lot of stairs in some of the Metro stations and few escalators or elevators (not so good when you have a lot of luggage). Excellent location, great price, and fairly comfortable. A couple of notes: The hostal is not marked like you'd expect a hotel or motel to be marked. Pay attention to the address and do not look for a sign on the exterior of the building that says "Hostal del Fuentes." Once you get to the building, buzz the hostal (the buzzer is marked) to get inside - the building is (at least in May of 2011) adjacent to a cafe and across the street from a small convenience store. It is on the First floor (which, to Americans, is the second floor - the first floor of any multi-story building in Spain is labeled zero or the ground floor) and the door is marked with CH. There is a different hostal on the third floor (also marked CH). There is a very tiny elevator which will fit one person and one suitcase. One of the funny things I found in Spain were the pillows. In a single room, you get one long pillow (sort of like a "body pillow") instead of two pillows. Comfortable, but a bit of an adjustment if you're used to sleeping with two pillows or one standard-size pillow that you like to ball up. There is no balling up of the long pillow. =) The bathroom and room itself were very clean. Towels and maid pick-up service provided, along with a small, hotel-size soap and a packet of shampoo (if you need more toiletries, best to buy or bring your own). The staff was very nice and helpful. I loved Madrid and would definitely stay here again!

Cabby had a REAL hard time finding the hotel but once we got to it... we had trouble finding it too. There is no real signage, just a label on a list of buzzers at the building's front door, and once we were buzzed in we stood looking at the empty lobby of an apartment building and a small, shoulder-width elevator. I don't know how my wife figured out how to go upstairs but she did and up there is the hotel. Very strange. But the room was great. No windows, mind you, but reasonably sized and clean for the price. The location is great - right in the midst of one of the best cities we've ever been to. Plan on hitting the streets at night - very safe, crowded, and exciting. Very much like Manhattan. We recommend the hotel for its location and cleanliness and think visitors would be happy with it as long as their expectations regarding the hotel's secret location is tempered.

The hostel really was more like an hotel like other people have said aswell. It was in a really good location, very clean and extremely silent considering that it still is in the middle of Madrid. I'd really recommend getting the underground from the airport to this hostel as it is very easy and the hotel is right next to the underground station. I wish we done this for our incoming trip as well as the taxi we got from airport charged us too much and just drove away without giving the almost 20 euro change. The hostel was very emphatic with this inconvenience too. I would highly recommend this hostel,for families as well.

Excellent rapport qualité/prix pour cet hôtel ! Situé près de la plaza mayor, de la puerta del sol, de l'opéra et du palais royal, il permet de visiter le centre historique de Madrid à pied ! L'hôtel est impeccable, le personnel charmant, les chambres ne sont pas très grandes mais confortables et disposent d'une salle de bains très propre ! J'ai été ravie et je le recommande vivement !

Muy bien ubicado y con un servicio muy bueno por parte de los trabajadores. Lástima que algún cliente anterior no cuidó muy bien la habitación y las paredes no estabán limpias.

Siisti, pieni hostelli aivan keskeisellä paikalla Madridin nähtävyyksiä ja kulkemista ajatellen. Loistava valinta.

l'hostal fuentes è ben posizionato in una zona di passaggio ma anche parecchio tranquillo, si dorme bene. L'unico problema è che mi hanno dato la stanza di fianco alla receptions e si sentiva un po di passaggio di gente che andava e veniva. Se non dovete dormire fino a tardi non ci sono problemi. Tutto sommato non male comunque, e lo raccomando per la posizione e il rapporto qualita prezzo.

Især for den enlige rejsende er dette et perfekt sted, hvis du kan leve med et lille, men fint og rent værelse (vel at mærke med eget bad/toilet). Man skal lige være opmærksom ved ankomst, da det bare ligner almindelig privat bolig både fra gaden og inde i selve opgangen (reception på 1. sal) I alle retninger ligger centrale steder kun få minutter væk (Kongeslottet, Operaen, Plaza Mayor og Puerta del Sol) Der er også gratis internet station.

El colchón era nuevo y comodísimo, en general la estancia ha sido agradable. El único pero, sólo te ponen un sobrecito de gel y champú por persona, para toda la estancia, estés los días que estés. Por favor, no sean tan rácanos y repongan los sobrecitos.

Un hostal sans prétention mais très bien tenu. Idéal pour quelques jours à Madrid. Pas de bruit extérieur mais sonor à l'intérieur. Très bon rapport qualité / prix

Очень маленькая комната, возникает чувство клаустрофобии. Шумоизоляция от соседей и корридора отстутсвует напрочь, слышно все. Шума с улицы нет. Расположение отеля великолепное - самый центр. Есть бесплатный, качественный Wi-Fi. Если нужно задешево в самом центре на одну-две ночи, то пойдет.

Hotel limpio y muy céntrico, personal amable. Habitaciones pequeñas y un poco ruidosas, recomiendo el hotel y no olvidar comprar unos tapones para los oídos para dormir mejor! Buena estadía.

Hotel très confortable, propre et neuf. Idéalement placé en plein centre historique, il est à côté de tout à pieds !!! La chambre était parfaite, bien insonorisée et de bonne taille. Le personnel est disponible et agréable. Je le recommande sans hésiter, et n'hésiterai pas à y retourner lors de mon prochain séjour.

Hostal Las Fuentes ligger alldeles intill operan och bara ett stenkast från kungliga slottet i Madrid. Nära shopping och tunnelbana alldeles intill. Rent och fint. Fri tillgång till internet vid receptionen. Enda nackdelen var de hårda sängarna, men såna finns det gott om i Spanien.

Ofrecieron las comodidades necesarios.: Cama, Televisor, Internet inalambrico gratuito, baño privado y limpio. En general mi estardia en Las Fuentes fué muy agredable.

治安が比較的良い駅で、部屋は清潔です。ただシングルはかなり狭く、トランクはベッドの上でしかあきません。

This hostel is all aboat the location, which is excellent! A few minutes walk from Puerta del Sol, Plaza Mayor and other central spots, as well as the metro stop Opera very close by. The cheap price than, as expected, is due to a very basic, but functional standard. The rooms are small but have all the essentials, no view to talk about, but clean and with fully equiped modern bathroom included in the price. And who is in Madrid to hang about in hotel room anyway? It is tucked away in a small sidestreet (more silent for sleeping) and may be hard to find as there is no large sign indicating the name. Instead, you see the name tag as you would for someone's flat next to the door. The hostel is one stair up, good since the elevator is very small... Friendly staff, could print my next reservation free of charge. All in all I recommend the place, but be prepared that it is the location that is the main selling-point.
