Jamestown Railtown Motel - ג'יימסטאון

Everything was as described. Clean and convenient.

We were happy with our stay. We were looking for a basic place to sleep and that's what we got, at a very decent price. Everything was ready when we checked in, we had no other need to contact the staff, and experienced no problems with our stay.

Right off of main street - historic Jamestown's downtown shops and restaurants - convenient to Railtown. The room was quiet and spacious but I've stayed in much cleaner motels.

hotel is easily reached from the freeway, there are a couple of good places to eat, there is a steak house just about the corner which is good. rooms are very old, heating was good, has parking, cleanliness and ambiance was average. we stayed only for a night, it is okay as a a one or two night stop over place

Stayed one nite. Room was clean, Bed was comfortable, Staff was friendly and location was perfect. Definitely will stay again when I`m in the area.

Motel was good value for money but no breakfast, not a problem for us. Nice coffee shop in town serves excellent breakfast. Inn next to Motel has good beer and very good restaurant.

Small pool but it was nice to cool off, hours could be longer 9am-9pm. Loved the location & old buildings. See the shops downtown w/in walking distance in the afternoon because they don't open until 10am. Overall a great stay! I would stay there again/recommend it to friends.

The motel was clean, well kept. We weren't looking for posh extras, so this was perfect. One block from Main Street with shops and restaurants. Easy drive to visit the Giant Redwoods, and other towns in the gold country!

Comfortable clean room. Only problem was that many of the lightbulbs were burned out. Great location. Pool was nice.

Checked in after riding all day. The room was clean, cool and just what I needed. The Jacuzzi really helped with the heat and sore muscles. With the Willow Steakhouse right next door, I couldn't ask for anything more.

Jamestown is an interesting town and a good launching point for a visit to Yosemite. Restaurants in town a bit pricy, but there was an excellent grocery shop and microwave and fridge in the room. We enjoyed the pool too. Only downside was lack of tea and coffee making facilities in room. I had to wait until 8 a.m. for coffee to be ready at reception and it was not very nice.

Recognize that the accomodations are not going to be deluxe, but that should be expected given the low rates. Rooms are a bit aged. However they did have good WiFi which was included. I've stayed at expensive hotels where they limit your WiFi or had poor access. Town seems more interesting than some of the larger ones in the area. Overall, a pretty good deal.

We had a good time. The location is great within walking distance to all of downtown Jamsetown. Clean and well maintained.

The hotel was definitely nothing fancy but was clean & provided us an affordable place to stay near to our destination. Would definitely recommend if you're looking for an affordable, clean hotel.

Loved the ambiance but I like older , well kept facilities. It even had a real key !!! Great location, within walking distance from everything! One block from Main St- I was able to take a walk at 8:00pm & even brought home a pizza. Very accommodating management-I was allowed to stay with my dog & they even lent me a corkscrew (saving me at least $10.00). Very reasonable rates & lots of families staying. Just one suggestion-can the pool stay open between 9:00pm and 10:00pm for adults only ? It is still warm that late-

The location was perfect for our purposes in visiting Jamestown. The price was right for what you get, nothing fancy, no extras, just a bed, cable TV and bathroom. The sheets were badly stained but the staff was very responsive in changing them out. If you're just looking for a cheap place to stay the night, it's okay.

First impression it was nice. The heater didn't work, the front desk didn't answer the phone when I called, the front office staff was rude when I asked about the jacuzzi. (They had the water supply turned off so you don't use the hot tub without paying.) If you look at the reservation site it doesn't say you have to pay to use the tub. I asked for extra towels once I paid for the jacuzzi and they got us small towels that had holes in them. The small room heater that was furnished was squealing when we turned it on. The remote didn't work the tv. The room was clean and everything put in its place, just seemed to penny pinch where they could. The floors were very thin and I could everything the upstairs resident was doing. It was very loud.

If you must stay in town, this place will work. This a MOTEL.

A way-stop on the way to the Calif Gold Country. Pleasant enough but completely lacking in extras,the door locks with a worn metal key on a fob and no in- room coffee! TV set primitive w/malfunctioning remote. Clean and odor-free room with closet sized bathroom. Overnight acceptable.

My stay was great. We paid for everything online, but they couldn't find our reservation when we got there. We went through hotels.com. After about 45 minutes, they finally found it. Other than that, my stay was great.

we we chose this hotel because of price and locationto pack which said 30.5 miles ....amybe as the crow flys but...2 hrs from the valley floor.. really messed up our whole weekend we had planed.. and if you like a boiling HOT room with POOR a/c in the summer this is your place then.

The room was nice and even included a jacuzzi which I didn't ask for and didn't use, but there was no in-room coffee, and the office was locked up tight when I went to ask where I could get some.

For a hotel in an out of the way place, this place was just fine. The service was good, the pool was very nice, the room was spacious, the location right next to the old main street couldn't have been better, the timely access to Yosemite park was nice. This was a good value - I would recommend it and will be back.

We went to the Celtic Festival in Sonora and decided to book a hotel only a few days before the festival, so all the hotels in Sonora were booked. Jamestown was only a few miles away, so I picked this place. The price wasn't bad and at least they had a hot tub. Well, the pool and hot tub were both disgusting and not open. Maybe they open in the summer, since we did go in the middle of March and they were outdoors. But they still could have had the hot tub open. That's the main reason I chose this hotel over others in town. The hotel itself was old and crappy. Our room was acceptable, however they didn't even provide shampoo. At least there was a fridge. We only used the hotel to drop off our stuff and come back and sleep that night, so I wasn't really disappointed, but if you are looking for a nice place to stay, don't stay here.

This hotel is adequate if you're looking for a last-minute place to sleep. The website says there is a pool and spa - when we were there (March 2011) both were green and non-operational. The room itself was large, but the shag carpet was a bit scary! The shower still had the previous guests' hair in it! But you get what you pay for.

We decided last minute to go to the mountains, and it was lots of fun. Great stay, friendly staff!

Bad experience all the way around. Needs to upgrade there rooms maintenance. I will not be staying there again.

The hotel was clean and quaint.. The hotel had character and we laughed so hard when we opened our door to find a giant stuffed monkey on our bed holding a "wild thing" heart shaped pillow! The jacuzzi tub was to die for, bigger than any other hotel I have stayed at. When rain came unexpectedly the manager actually got out a tarp and covered our Harley motorcycle for us!! Definately above and beyond service wise. It is also only a few feet from the adorable historic Jamestown where we walked for awesome mexican food and cocktails. Awesome weekend will totally stay there again!
