Howard Johnson Inn Vernon - ורנון

Room was clean, had hardwood floor, but little to no noise from people in room above mine. Turn the "Cold" water nob to bet "Hot" water and visa-versa. Air conditioner not very effective and quite noisy.

Really attentive management. Good breakfast. Quiet room with everything you could need including a great bed. We were hauling a trailer that was 40 feet long including the truck and they even had a great convenient place to park it. Would go back there whenever we are back in town.

stopped over for one nigh. the room was ok nothing special but had all I needed. There was a pool and hot tub but never used. I could not get the internet to work. not sure if I would stay again. good value is all i can say

Management insisted on having a 200 dollar damage deposit authorized on my credit card.. Yes it is refundable but the authorization often stays on for months. Just try getting a credit card error corrected. Will probably not use Howard Johnson chain unless they are the only rooms in town...

Well it could of been cleaner, smelled like old socks, so the room needed a real cleaning, also when you have the bathroom fan on and there is a smoker outside, it sucks in the smoke. This suggests that the weather stripping is poor, also it could of been coming in from the through the wall old A/C. Room heats up fast. When some one upstairs has a shower you hear the water running very very loudly. I wouldn't say its because of the price. Kelowna's Howard Johnson is the same price and no issues. and it has a lot bigger Breakfast room.

after driving hours in the fog and rain and being late for our event the manager said he would not honour the rate I got and that it was a mistake on the website. We had to phone hotels.com and both talk before he would honour the rate I had paid for. It was at least half hour in the lobby before we were allowed to have our room. I told him if the info was wrong that was between him and hotel.com. He insisted he could not give me the room for that price. It was a hassle after we had arrived late and were all tired that I would not like to have again!

For the actual amount of time we spent in the room it was perfect. Bed was comfortable. The pool and Hot tub was well appreciated. Great place for just passing through or for a short stay.

The most obvious thing you notice is that some things need to be upgraded. The service of the staff and attractive price certainly make up for this shortcoming. Excellent, helpful staff.

The rooms need to be updated. I felt depressed staying there.

The breakfast was something to be desired, as we could not even get a cup of coffee that morning.

I stayed at this motel in April,2012 and I was satisfied ,however, the last stay in June ,2012 with my experience there I will not be returning to this motel.We had to pay a $200.00 deposit on the room which was not expected we didn't have to pay a deposit in April,2012 in addition we didn't realize the check in time was 3 in the afternoon in April,2012 we checked in later in the a.m. and it was no big deal. Plus the room we got was not cleaned well i.e., shower curtain was dirty and the carpet smelt like a kitty litter box. In addition there was a language barrier between customer and office staff which made communication difficult. The next am @ 9:30 a.m. approx, we checked out and I was relieved to get back home this ordeal made our trip unpleasant to say the least.

Was a short but good stay except for continual rain.

Continental breakfast was quite decent. Some of the rooms have been largely updated with laminate flooring, small frig and m/w and one cup coffeemaker. Mattress was very good quality. Room was tastefully decorated and the majority of the furniture was near new. The TV, however, was very OLD, as were the two easy chairs. A second room we saw had no updating and there was no sign of any in the works. Owners would very much improve the overall hotel quality if they completed the updating sooner rather than later.

It was a pleasure to stay at this hotel, the lady behind the desk was just wonderful, so helpful and very pleasant to talk to.The location was wonderful, it had several restaurants around it. The buffett breakfast I was told was super, fresh waffles etc... served from 7 to 10... so very convenient. Would stay again.

The Hotel is badly in need of an overhaul or maybe just a cleaning and painting all furniture is old an in poor condition. bathroom fixtures need to be upgraded will not recomend this hotel to anyone. No good for the price charged.

The hotel is very old and in need of upgrades to rooms. Would not stay there again not good for the price. The price should be about 35.00 a night then people would not expect anything great.

The room was smallish but had all we needed. Some updates to the room were laminate floors, new granite vanity top and a flat screen tv. Bed was a comfy kingsize. The only downside was the bathroom its self it was very tight. The water pressure was great though. One night one of the neighbours walking by was loud but it was only one night. We had our dogs going to a dog show and the manager was nice about the dogs. Did not use the pool of hot tub, looks like this area will be under renos soon. The contental breakfast was good. Overal good experience

For the price verry good, dont know in summer when you need the air co. Good location and friendly staff

This HoJo is a convenient place to stay in the City of Vernon, B.C., Canada. It is on the main strip entering or leaving town and there are many good restraunts close by. The morning complimentary breakfast is very nice. You will find outstanding staff who will do almost anything for you. They are quite knowledgable about the area. The facilities are clean and safe and there is a nice pool and hot tub to enjoy. I would recommend this motel to anyone.

Very Affordable, with agreat location and a very nice pool for the familly. Next time I am in Vernon I will be staying here.

Stayed here for 2 nights over high ski season (Jan 30/31). For a cheap stay it is great. Clean rooms, no real complaints, hot tub was a nice bonus. We did not use the pool but it looked fine.

We arrived post marathon and had a nice swim with our kids and hot tub. Excellent continental breakfast with fresh waffles pleased the kids then they opened the pool early for us to have a swim before we left. Very hospitable!

The hotel was under construction directly below our room. Sawing and harmering was from 7a.m. till 4p.m. the three days we stayed at the HJ. Beds were rock hard and the stay which was suppose to be a well deserved holiday was a nightmare. Called Howard Johnson customer service and have not got any response to my complant from main office or the manager at the hotel we stayed at. I never read anything of online from hotels.com or the Howard Johnson that their hotel was under construction. I would never go back to that hotel chain again they have no costumer service. shelley

The hotel manager was amazingly friendly,concerned about our comfort and happiness. Outstanding in our hotel stay experience. Continental breakfast was a surprise, good quality and freshness.

Hotel manager was very accomodating. We got there early and had a wedding to go to at 3:30. We were able to check in at 11 am. Staff was extremely friendly and very helpful with all our requests. The only thing that needs improving is the plumbing. The toilet didn't flush very well.

The AC was old and spewing unpleasant air. The bed sheets were itchy. Renovated.. but poor work. Beds were like hard rock.

We had a week long stay at this motel, and the staff and front desk people were great. It is in the middle of renovations, so some rooms (ours) could really use a facelift and some updating.

Excellent value for money. Room spacious and nicely furnished - only one thing missing - nowhere to hang clothes - very pleased, with service desk very friendly

The name "Inn" is somewhat pretentious for this recently "renovated" older motel on the main drag in Vernon. We booked a room with a single king bed and were surprised with quite small room with 2 queens. There would not have been enough width for a king anyway. The room was clean and reasonably furnished but we had some difficulty finding any garment hanging space. We eventually located some hotel style hangers in one of the kitchen cabinets but there was no space set aside for their use nor were there any hooks of any type apart from the back of the bathroom door to be found. We employed the second bed as our clothes rack for the duration of our stay. Can't imagine how a group of four with ski clothing would manage as there was barely enough space for our overnight bags without the use of the second bed. The well equipped kitchen was new with a full size stove and fridge/freezer (rather noisy in the confined space as well as making the room a little too warm for our tastes), matched with a table that would seat six which explained the lack of closet and luggage space. As far a we were concerned this was a waste as our plans did not include a dinner party. The bathroom was small and had very little space for toiletries (top of the toilet tank was the largest available area). The towel rack was above the toilet with the obvious risk of wet towels if the lid was up ..... Towels were plentiful but without a decent sized bath towel. The brighter (new compact fluorescent) lights illuminated a shoddy paint job from the recent renovation with old wall plugs had not been removed and many areas where the old colour showed through the new paint. Even the end caps on the new (curved) shower curtain rail rail were hanging loose. Outside the bathroom there were several patches of the mushroom wall paint on the white ceiling. The bathroom mirror was evidently original as the marks of the old clips had never been cleaned off and the pencil marks for the new clips were unsullie

The room was clean and comfortable but definitely needed updating. We could hear noise from the other rooms and from outside. The remote control for the tv did not work properly. But the front desk service was good and over all I can't complain about the price.
