Ohla Hotel - ברצלונה

Perfect other than the breakfast which was limited in fare and very slow service. Wish I had booked room only. Otherwise stunning.

The hotel is very central to where buses drop off from airport. Metro is also nearby. On arrival, check in was fast and efficient. Concierge attended to bags and once checked in, we were brought to our room and shown all the facilities. This is important as toilet is hidden behind a secret door. The hotel has a fine bistro and a michelin star restaurant. We used neither as we were travelling about all day and tended to eat in restaurants close to where we ended up hungry! There is also a rooftop chill out pool and sun terrace, with fantastic views of the city. The only down side was that there was no kettle in the room to make a cup of coffee. Still, the hotel is nice and romantic

We really enjoyed our stay at Ohla. The location is great and super convenient. The noise from the street is somewhat noticeable. We were on the first floor on the side of the hotel and heard a lot of street noise late at night.

We enjoyed our entire time in beautiful Barcelona. The hotel location and amenities were excellent. We couldn't ask for more and would recommend the OHLA Hotel without hesitation. Being in the travel busines, I have occasion to suggest cities, hotels, and restaurants. OHLA gets 5* +

Great hotel. Very personal services. Amazing yummy breakfast. Large room with enough room for roll away bed for our son and not feel cramped. Very friendly to our 4 year old. Easy walking location plus pool to swim in the late afternoon. HIGHLY recommend.

After reading the other reviews I selected Ohla because of the high rating and value. The hotel exceeded our expectations in service, location, and cleanliness. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very quite - we slept very well. The main part of the bathroom did not have a door, but the toilet had a door and the glass shower door steams up real quick. The breakfast was great with good variety and plenty of food. We would definitely stay here again.

Hotel very modern and in great central location. Concierge very nice, friendly and helpful. Room lovely and clean. Breakfast was delicious. Housekeeping very good. Unfortunately the check in lady tried to charge us 59 Euros for our little girl when we had already paid for her. She reluctantly withdrew and then as we left she said we had to pay 5 Euros city tax. We refused as our bill stated we had already paid all the taxes and she said (and did) take it from our card account anyway. It left a bitter taste in our mouth. Be cautious about the illegitimate extra costs and stand your ground. We were not overall satisfied because of our experience with this lady.

After a lot of research, my discovery of the Ohlshotel did not disappoint. The hotel has terrific presence and terrific location within walking distance of all the key attractions and restaurants we experienced. The room was fantastic, staff was extremely courteous, and concierge team very helpful.

Wonderful hotel. My husband loved the pool! Service was outstanding. The food at the restaurants was great. Very friendly and helpful staff. If we are back in Barcelona we will stay here again. The room was very clean and the bed super comfortable. Easy walking to all the important areas to see.

Great location with modern, sophisticated style and comfortable rooms. Hotel had easy access to shopping, entertainment, restaurants and public transportation. Breakfast service was excellent. Staff was very professional, gracious and knowledgeable. We especially appreciated recommendations from concierge Daniele. Would definitely stay there again.

Right by the cathedral and Palau de la Musica Catalana was across the street. We loved the upstairs bar on the roof but the Mojitos were very pricey. The tiny pool is useless. The real rockstar place in the hotel was the main street restaurant. We ate there three times and had breakfast there also since it was included in our hotel package and the food was incredibly delicious. The waitstaff in there were truly magnificent - the Maitre D' was fabulous - we absolutely loved him - so charming! As for our hotel room, the double glazed windows were great. We were on the 2nd floor and could here the distant rumbling of the underground but did not find it too disturbing. Everything was very clean but we were a bit upset that we had a queen size bed instead of a king size bed we paid for. We were only there for two nights and were too tired to complain when we came in but I hate it when the check in woman just can't be bothered to do it right. The concierge desk were very nice but seemed more interested in the football scores sometimes and did not order a taxi for the airport when we asked the night before. Luckily we came down for breakfast and doubled checked so it was there when we came down with our luggage. It is about total 35 euros to the airport by taxi. They add about a 10 euro charge to the fares so don't be surprised if you see another charge tacked on to your fare. All in all, not a bad place to stay if you use the restaurant and the bar.

I think the pictures on the site made the hotel look better than it actually is .It was expensive for what it was. It is well positioned close to the Ramblas. The room is simple and reasonable size . The breakfast was very good . the staff were very helpful

ROOM WAS GREAT.GAVE US FREE WATER.EVERY ONE IN THE HOTEL WAS VERY NICE AND HELPFUL. ONLY COMPLAINT WAS THE SHOWER LEAKED,OUR FIRST STAY.WHEN WE RETURNED 12 DAYS LATER IT DIDNT LEAK. LOCATION WAS GREAT.THE BUFFET BREAKFAST WAS SUPER.

We stayed for three nights at the Ohla as part of our honeymoon in August - it was fantastic. The staff were very friendly and professional without being obtrusive and our every need was catered for. The rooftop pool and bar was gem of tranquility in the bustling city. Barcelona was very busy so if we visit again we will do so off-season, but will definitely stay in the Ohla - the hotel was worth a visit in itself.

Loved staying at the Ohla. The concierge was extraordinarily helpful. Great location, breakfast and upscale design.

The staff at the Ohla couldn't have been nicer, and Barcelona is a happening city. We got wonderful assistance and recommendations from the concierges, each of whom were helpful and attentive. The hotel is modern and incredibly well located. The rooms were spotless and comfortable. The rooftop pool is beautiful with a view of the city stretching out below you. We'll definitely go back to Barcelona (we were only there three nights) and look forward to staying again at the Ohla.

had a booking issue and the staff was unwilling to work with us atall to reolve our issue. would not recomend this hotel. used to be the old police department/jail that was recently remodeled. shower in middle of room not very appealing.

Rooftop terrace and pool is beautiful and the rooms are modern, clean, and comfortable.

Had a great stay at the Ohla. Perfect location in the gothic quarter, close to everything and everyone. Was the perfect spot before our cruise. Room was clean and stylish... the shower was off the hook. Gay friendly with a helpful staff. Mojitos in the bar best over.

The OHLA was a perfect hotel for our stay in Barcelona. The room was outstanding, the roof top bar was wonderful, the breakfast was delicious and the concierge service was A+. I highly recommend the OHLA for anyone staying in Barcelona.

Stayed 4 nights in a Junior Suite. Great price including breakfast via Hotels.Com. I have previously stayed at H1898 but it was full and I liked the look of this. I was not disappointed, although H18981 just pips it as my favourite, i would definately stay here again. Price was cheaper than 1898 and facilities were great. Location wise - this is better than 1898. Walking distance to beach/barri gottica/plaza catulunya/cathedral/shops etc. Whereas 1898 is right on Ramblas..it sometimes felt too frantic ..this is much more sedate feeling. Staff were excellent..concierge booked restaurant for me prior to my arrival..reception were accomodating and friendly. I got a late 5pm check out (for small charge) which was brilliant. room was ready before 2pm arrival too..so no complaint. Junior Suite was lovely/spacious/sexy (open plan bathroom/bedroom). Rooftop pool was great. Great views/drinks/staff. (see pics) Definately reccomend this hotel.

Other than them taking a while to get our room ready at check-in, it was an excellent stay. The free breakfast each morning was amazing!!!

The hotel is well situated in old Barcelona. The taxi fare from the airport was around 38 euros for 2 people and luggage. It is a fairly new hotel and the condition of the room was top notch. We stayed in a junior suite which was quite roomy by European standards and had a separate tub and shower. After a long day of sightseeing, the room was a comfortable place to unwind and get ready for the next day. One thing that is worth noting is that the HVAC/climate control was very quiet and comfortable. It was never too cold or too warm in the room. The bed was comfortable and the towels were fluffy and soft. The breakfast that was included with the room was filling. You get a choice of 1 hot dish (eggs with bacon, pancakes, or hamburger) with unlimited croissants, breads, cheeses, sliced coldcuts, fruit, juice and coffee. The staff was very helpful. Albert ,the concierge, arranged reservations at a few restaurants for us. We chose to dine at Sauc, the hotel's restaurant with 1 Michelin star. It's a cozy place that only has about 10 tables. We ordered from the "tasting menu" and were expecting to be hungry at the end, but the portions for the main course were generous and we were not able to finish every single morsel of that delicious dinner. Another concierge showed how to get a taxi quickly. On our departure, they arranged a taxi for us to the airport and the fee was approximately the same as the arrival. I would stay here again the next time I visit Barcelona.

I only had 48 hours to spend in Barcelona. The Ohla Hotel made it possible to enjoy every minute. Well situated in old Barcelona, it was quick walk to La Rambla and all the sights in between. We arrived early and just expected to drop off our luggage and check in later, but they gave upgraded us from a design room to a junior suite. The concierge service was personalized. Albert, the head concierge made dining reservations for us at Can Majo, Sauc and El Nou Ramonet as well as summon a cab for us when we left. Our junior suite was spacious by european standards. The wifi worked well. The ipod dock meant that i could keep my charger cables packed away. As mentioned before, there aren't any doors to the bathroom area except for the toilet. The room has some neat design inspirations and lighting. The climate control system works well. The room was never too hot or too cold. The bed was firm and comfortable for us. Although it rained on our last evening, the pool area and lounge on the 8th floor was a nice place to hang out. There is a phone that can be used to call for drinks from the bar. An attendant came up within a few minutes while we were up there to check on us and to let us know how things worked. Dining at Sauc was an experience. They modified the tasting menu for us. The portions for the tasting menu were generous. I actually got full by the main course entrees. Service was a little slow towards the end. The breakfast buffet is a treat from all the croissants, cheeses, fruits, cold cuts. They give you one hot dish per person, which was a choice between eggs and bacon, pancakes/waffles or a hamburger with cheese and bacon, which was very good :) It was almost 40 euros to take a cab from the airport to this hotel. About 9 euros to take a cab to Can Majon from this hotel.

Everything about this hotel was fab. I will certainly stay here again on my next visit to Barcelona as everything about it was class.

This is certainly not a 5-star hotel. The lobby is tiny and the reservation desk is in a miniscule alcove on the mezzanine floor. The room we had was real small with a non-existent view. We basically looked over the rooftops of surrounding buildings. A view room was available but they wanted to charge us 90 Euros a day more. Breakfast was OK - nothing to write home about. We had just come from a stay at the W which offered a terrific breakfast in comparison. The location is excellent. It is very close to the Barcelona Cathedral and abuts the Gothic district. It is an easy walk to many major sights, including the Spanish Arc de Triomphe. The finest bakery in Barcelona, Hoffmans, in the Born Plaza has croissants to die for and is a 7 minute walk from the hotel. The subway is across the front door and the main Gaudi house is 10-15 minutes walking distance. Unbeatable location. If you intend to spend any time in the hotel to relax, it is just too tiny for that. When we left, the hotel either made an error or tried to gyp us by charging us for an upgraded room that we never took. Seems like they were presenting us with someone else's bill. Left a bad taste in the mouth. Overall, it should be a 3-1/2 stars hotel and does not qualify as a 5-star property

Excellent hotel very well situated in the center of the city. Truly a 5 star hotel and location Don't miss out on the michelin star restaurant called "sauc" in the hotel . For a gourmet restaurant its really good value for money

Location and staff - if those are good then you'll be forgiven almost anything. Not that the Ohla needs to be forgiven much. We had a good deal on a Junior Suite and were delighted to find it so quickly after getting off the airport bus. Smooth check in - and those reviewers thinking the mezzanine check-in is odd should try standing in the lobby in February. Hats off to the concierge staff for at least trying to look warm! Great breakfast (as previously reviewed) - there is a Starbucks directly opposite if you need an initial caffeine kick and don't have the same package. Lovely looking room with plenty of space, very good toiletries, linen and towels. Slightly firm bed, but not a big issue. Cheerful and efficient cleaning / turn down. All in all, very close to 5 star rating, but there are a couple of minor eccentricities that pull it down. The single sink was plugless (as far as we could see) and there was soap but no soaptray provided. Odd. Kettle, cups and tea provided, but no coffee. Unless you asked for a machine at extra cost. I'm guessing instant coffee would have been provided had we asked, but we usually travel with a small supply anyway. We were 2nd floor, front. There is some underground noise 7am-11pm ish that was only mildly disturbing, traffic/street noise was minimal. We didn't like the fact that the window was subjected to spotlights outside, without extra blackout curtains - standard ones really didn't work. These lights are turned off in the early hours so that it isn't an issue all night but light sensitive souls should bring along eye shades just in case. Too cold to use to roof/pool other than a brief photo trip, but it did look great for warmer days. Would wholeheartedly recommend the Ohla for a first visit to Barcelona and will certainly check it out next time we visit.

My partner and I booked a junior suite and requested an early checkin. The room was ready and waiting. Our package included breakfast and we were not disappointed. The room was great as was the service. The rooftop pool was incredible and the views of the sunset should not be missed. This hotel is conveniently located, with the metro close by, the gothic quarter, Picasso Museum, and Gothic Cathedral. Exceptional value.

THERE'S NOTHING TO SAY ABOUT THIS HOTEL. JUST EVERYTHING IS PERFECT!! AT NIGHT,BUY A TICKET AND GO SEE A SHOW AT CATALUNYA MUSICAL CENTRE WHICH IS TWO MINUTE WALK FROM THE HOTEL. TICKET IS €30 AROUND.WE SAW GOSPEL THERE.IT WAS JUST FUN. HAVE BREAKFAST AT THE HOTEL.CUZ NOT MANY STORES ARE OPEN EARLY MORNING.WE STAYED 4 NIGHTS AND HAD BREAKFAST EVRYDAY AND ENJOYED SO MUCH CUZ ITS GOT A VARIETY.SUPER TASTY.. WHAT I LOVE THE MOST WAS THE 8TH FLOOR OPEN AIR GARDEN.YOU CAN SEE A WIDE VIEW OF BARCELONA.SPECIALLY IN THE MORNIG,YOU BRING A COFEE FROM THE BREAKFAST BUFFET AND SIT ON THE COMFORTABLE SOFA AND SMOKE CIGARETTES AND SHARE THE HAPPY FEELING WITH YOUR LOVER.YOU HAVE TO EXPERIENCE IT. I WILL STAY OHLA HOTEL NEXT TIME FOR SURE. WE HAD A GREAT MEMORIES OF TRIP AND THIS HOTEL IS ONE OF THEM.

This hotel was beautiful- it was in a convenient location and was easy to get to most places from there. The lobby, retaurant and rooms are beautiful and immaculate. All of the people were warm and friendly and went out of their way to provide great service. Two minor issues to be aware of: one is the bathroom arrangement. Some rooms have glass enclosed showers in the middle of the room with no privacy. Others have a more private shower area, but generally only toilets are behind a closed door. We just found this odd. The other is that the room was very spacious with ample closet space for hanging, but no drawer space for folded stuff. Other than that we loved the place and would recommend it.

Hotel Ohla provided everything my boyfriend and i needed for our weeks stay. The location was ideal for walking and catching the metro, the staff was very accomodating with information and concierge services, and the rooms were spacious and comfy. Great tapas in the small restaurant too!

The Ohla is a fantastic hotel! The staff was polite, helpful, professional, courteous and went above and beyond to ensure a great stay. The hotel restaurant and bar were both very good and the room was hip and cool looking as well. The hotel room was also very quiet! The hotel is conveniently located. Located in great location! Hotel was very clean and easy to get around. Car service was very professional which we used for transfer as well as wine tasting in Cava area. We travel a good amount and would stay here again. Cheers!

The Junior Suites have an open shower and tub but they're behind a wall so are not as exposed as in some of the other room types. Great location, beautiful rooftop pool and lounge, very nice breakfast and central location. beds are super comfortable.

The city is wonderful but, the hotel staff made sure we visited wonderful places and recommended superb dining experiences.

Everything about the Ohla was wonderful. Rooms were nicely appointed and comfortable, the breakfasts were outstanding and the location could not be beat. The hotel staff was professional and very helpful and helped us whenever we needed it. Wonderful rooftop bar/pool area. Always clean, plenty of towels and excellent staff at the bar.
