HOTEL GEN - סנטיאגו

From out side first look before you enter in the hotel, looks like a hostel,small reception, small lobby, not very impressive.Staff is very good, they have old rooms and new rooms all the fotos in the website are from new executive room. Old rooms have no proper heating, Heating is not sufficient.Great rooms and great breakfast, beautiful rooftop on 25th floor as you can see the whole city of Santiago.Great recommendation as it is a great hotel.I stay here for 15 days.Area around hotel is old center of the Santiago and safe.Good Austrian bakery if you turn right from hotel entrance,7 metro station and you are in a big shopping mall with good restaurants.I will highly recommend.Metro station San Isabel is one block east and one block North .Great Metro.if you go 5 blocks west then you arrive to another Metro.I would highly recommend.

Clean and comfortable hotel. Free WiFi. Great breakfast. The neighborhood isn´t great, but you are 5min taxi away from the center. The restaurant was a little overpriced.

Really enjoyed Mendoza and this hotel is excellently situated to walk around town. Service very helpful and courteous.

On arriving Sunday afternoon, no one was at the desk. My modified reservation had not been recorded, but they were able to accommodate. The hotel's ISP was down and there was no backup system for the wifi, and it affected phone service as well until the next morning. The bed, TV, A/C room size and A/C were fine. There was only 1 chair, and not desk-work friendly. There was no bottled water, tea or spoon, or a trash can beyond the tiny one by the toilet. Water was hot but the shower plumbing was fragile. I was disappointed being erroneously charged for mini-bar consumption but they said it would taken care of. There is nowhere nearby to eat and the neighborhood is not Santiago's best. The gym was in disrepair and there were no towels, staff, or water provided there. Basically 3 stars but if you're on a budget and not too picky, it's OK.

Front desk personel not that friendly. They need to be more efficient with the check-in.

Fabulous view from rooftop and rooftop area and pool impressive. Staff pleasant and helpful . Odd decor consisting largely of equipment for making and storing wine but no alcohol available in the restaurant or anywhere else . Room ill equipped and requiring repair. Small kitchen with sink that is unplumbed. Price was low. I guess you get what you pay for.

Awesome Hotel.... Close to the metro, many shops. Beautiful views from the 25th floor of the entire city of Santiago, even more breath taking at night!

We enjoyed the Hotel, the staff and amenities enormously and would have given it a straight 4 stars had it not been for the lack of closet space in our room ! There were 2 doors and after opening the first one we saw appr. 18 inches (or 50 cm) of closetspace. No problem - after all, there is a second closet. Wrong - behind the second door was a hot water heater ! So we had to arrange all our clothes for a 2 months South American cruise- and land vacation across the furniture... No heartship, but a bit messy. Can not stress the extremly helpful staff enough or the quality of the breakfast.

Very satisfied for our one night stopover.Modern hotel,in good neighborthood.Front desk staff speak perfect English and very helpful.Breafast included and was above average with good selection.Location not as close to downtown shopping and restaraunts as we thought.We had two complaints only;there is only one chair in the room and staff answering phoine for "room service" and "front desk" did not speak or understand English,which seemed strange.

After traveling all over the world i can finally say I stayed at the worst hotel possible.

The hotel was very nice. Parking was included and so was breakfast. The room had a big balcony with a beautiful view. I would recommend this hotel. They are an environmentally friendly establsihment.

The hotel was lovely - the rooms were very clean and modern. We were disappointed with the showers - never got hotter than warm! The neighbourhood is not great, but we felt reasonably safe and most things were within a pleasant (and flat) 2km walk. Breakfast was good, especially with the views on the 25th floor and the hotel staff were very helpful and there was always someone who spoke english at the desk.

Gen Suite was a good hotel and was worth the heavily discounted nightly rate we paid. But I wouldn't pay full rate. The photos online look more impressive than reality, overall it's a bit dated, but still modern. Our room was on a busy street so quite noisy, our hot water ran out each day but thankfully heated back up quickly. The views from breakfast on the rooftop on a clear day of the Andes are amazing. The metro is a few blocks away and it's close to most of the main tourist places.

The pool and breakfasts were great. Gym was pretty good. Room had its good features -- we liked the layout, the storage space, and having our own kitchen complete with fridge, sink, microwave and oven. Having wi-fi throughout hotel was good too. Some downsides to balance the good things were desk staff -- they couldn't tell us much about things to see in Santiago, maintenance -- it took a couple of days to get our television going though all it needed was new batteries for the hand control, the safe wasn't working, and the balcony doors never locked. It wasn't a big deal for us, but it is true what others said -- the street noise was very present around the clock. And the neighbourhood was a little quirky -- it was the funeral parlour district. But all things considered, we managed well there. We were walking distance from Plaza des Armas, museums, and the subway, and there were grocery stories up the street. And sunsets and breakfasts on the swimming pool floor were really nice.

All staff were courteous and friendly.Excellent continental breakfast in terrace on 25 th floor with excellent view of city and the Andes. Pool area small but impressive. Towels were a bit on the thin side and pool furniture is somewhat sparse but the excellent view makes up for all of this.

Great location downtown, you get a small apartment rather than a ordinary hotel room. A good deal if you want to stay a bit longer and plan to cook for yourself (which might be a good idea for breakfast - the buffet included is not very good). Quite noisy if you get a room against Av Portugal, but I had no problem sleeping. English-speaking and very helpful staff. Unfortunately I never had time to check out the rooftop pool and the gym.

We stayed for 2 days for a great price thanks to hotels.com. The service was very pleasant, we had family for visit it felt like home in Santiago. Nice pool and a nice complementary breakfast.

Thanks to a special offer this was great value for money. Good breakfast with an awesome view, friendly staff, great room (clean, spacious, but no cooking equipment). Major downside - no internet access in the room.

My flight arrived early morning in Santiago and I arrived at the hotel around noon way before check-in time. The staff was very nice and they gave me a room right away. The room was very clean with a good bed, TV and internet. The breakfast buffet was good, but they opened late and it was very crowded. The overall experience was very good and the rate very reasonable.

the plus: confortable sure it is swimming pool at the top ; lovely breakfast at the top enchanting the less: the floor is not always well monitored but I would say it is dirty , some stains of fruit in the corridors stayed for all day at breakfast 2 people always running are serving when it needs 3 , cause sometimes some products are missing altogether we had a great time there, but the hotel is overpriced

This was for us a one night pass through in Santiago, Chile. The hotel is excellent with very helpful and pleasant staff and great facilities. Great value for money.

The property was new and good. The staff professional. The breakfast above average. The construction work right outside my window was VERY noisy. I suppose this will end in the next few months. The location was a little far from the center but for me, just fine.

The hotel is located in a safe neighborhood within walking distance to tourist attractions. The hotel staff is very friendly and although they have difficulty with speaking English (it is their country after all and most of the visitors speak Spanish), they made every effort to understand if I spoke slowly. We were given a suite with full kitchen facilities, a sofa, and a queen-size bed. The floors in the living room/kitchen and bathroom were hardwood. There was new burbur carpeting in the bedroom. The bed was the most comfortable of any hotel we stayed in. The views from our suite and the rooftop were excellent. There was an infinity pool on the roof as well as three barbecues and a picnic table. One drawback was that the suite was not air conditioned but we had 2 balconies and were on the 17th floor so we were able to open the sliding door and had a great breeze. We would definitely stay there if we were to visit Santiago again.

My room was on the 13th floor and it was very noisy. Until late at night you will hear the noise of the road. Bathroom was small and dated. No hairdryer in room. Breakfast was good. Service not really. Next time I will be choosing a different hotel.

Tudo foi perfeito sem nenhuma reclamação, um café da manhã bem variado, o quarto com ótimas condições de limpeza e conforto, uma vista espetacular. Só demoraram um dia para conseguirem um secador de cabelo (que no site, falava que ja estava disponivel no quarto). Recomendo a todos, pois é um belíssimo hotel.

Bom Hotel custo-beneficio. Tudo funciona!!!

美味しい朝食！最寄りの地下鉄から歩いて10分ほど、ホテル周辺の治安は良いです。バスタブの栓のサイズが合わないた為、交換を希望しましたが、対応してくれなかった事と、ヘアドライヤーの備え付けが無く、貸し出しも無かった事がマイナスです。　

Sov på detta hotell en natt. Överlag ett trevligt hotell med gångavstånd till Feria Santa Lucia (en marknad). Personalen var överlag trevlig och hjälpsam.

Bom hotel, nao tinha secador de cabelo para todos os quartos, tivemos que comprar um. Localização boa, fica no centro antigo.

esta es a segunda vez que me alojo ahi,nuevamente quede muy conforme con e servicio es exelente..a comida en el restorant exelente...o unico que no me gusto mucho fue que esta vez quede en el 9 piso y se sentia mucho la bulla de las micros,a otra vez quede mas arriba y no senti nada,pero el resto un 7

Antes de fecharmos nossa estadia no Hotel Gen, eu e minha noiva (agora esposa) ficamos preocupados com as avaliações de brasileiros que vimos aqui. Não poderíamos estar mais enganados. Além de estar convenientemente localizado próximo ao Centro de Santiago, conta com uma estação de metrô a dois quarteirões de distância. A limpeza é impecável e as acomodações são excelentes: cama ampla e macia (para os que preferem colchões mais firmes, sugiro entrar em contato e solicitar de antemão) e os quartos são refrigerados/aquecidos. Como a proposta do hotel é ser sustentável, havia a dúvida sobre a qualidade da água quente, bem como sua duração. Novamente o hotel surpreendeu, pois não tivemos problema algum com nossos banhos. O café da manhã é de boa qualidade e bem variado, com diversas qualidades de pães e frutas. Para nos satisfazer mais, só se tivéssemos conseguido um quarto com vista para os Andes.

Bra hotell med god frokost og fin takterrasse med basseng i 25etg. Litt slitt og kjedelig nabolag, men nærhet til metro og turistattraksjoner. Ikke alltid personell som snakket engelsk på jobb.

Estadia agradável, rua segura e próxima a lojas/serviços.
