Raithwaite Hall - וויטבי

Overall an excellent experience from A to Z. staff at all levels and ages were courtious and helpful in every regard concerning our comfort and needs. Food and Breakfast were 1st class. very impressed and will certainly visit again you can be sure of that!!!

This is a lovely well kept hotel. We found our weekend there very relaxing.

A great stay at a lovely hotel with excellent facilities. Staff were all very helpful and pleasant. Quality rooms to a very high standard and would definitely return again

Great staff. Poor mobile phone reception is the only minus.

The hotel was Fabulous, excellent spa facilities, friendly staff, breakfast was very good with plenty of choices.All set in beautiful surroundings. Within walking distance of both Whitby and Sandsend, £6 taxi into Whitby for night out. Highly recommended.

Would highly recommend this hotel. On arrival we were upgraded to an Executive room with was lovely. The pool & sauna/stream room were excellent. Breakfast was delicious - brilliant quality produce. Will be stopping again.

Having stayed in various 5star hotels around the world I must say this hotel was fantastic and lived up to expectations. Only complaint is that some staff did more than others which meant service on occasions suffered. Special mention to Sabah in the restaurant who was fantastic.

The hotel is nothing short of excellent. Very new and spotlessly clean with quality wherever you look. Staff were excellent and very welcoming. A true five star experience and one we would like to repeat in the future.

We had booked a courtyard room which had a small living room and bathroom downstairs and the bedroom upstairs. We weren't advised that the bathroom was downstairs which was inconvenient. Also the welcome message on the tv screen in our room had not been updated and still had the name of the occupant from the night before - just a small detail but when claiming to be 5* would have expected this to be right. Food was good but the menu was too limited - basically just steak or fish. All in all a pleasant stay but overpriced and probably won't return - there are hotels as good if not better for less money.

Enjoyed stay would go back ..

An absolutely wonderful experience, obviously carefully selected/trained staff and a lovely location. My wife and I are looking forward to our next visit, it is the only place that we would cobsider staying at following our last visit.

Having stayed in the. Whitby area many times over the years we have got used to 'average' hotels so it was a great surprise to discover this new hotel which brings true quality and service to the area. The hotel staff were incredibly helpful and the room was top notch. An excellent hotel and definitely one we will be using again - next time with an opportunity to try out the spa!

Raithwaite retreat has been recently restored to a very high standard. The interior, fixture and fittings are pretty much immaculate throughout. It is situated about 1 mile from Sandend and 2 miles from Whitby. The service was excellent and as it should be and expected for a hotel of this calibre. Overall we would recommend Raithwaite without hesitation and we intend to return.

My husband and I stayed at this hotel recently for one night on a B&B basis. It a lovely new hotel in a lovely spot although there is a lot of construction work going on around it. The Club room we had was comfortable but a little on the small size. The pool was lovely but got a bit crowded. It would have been helpful to be told at reception that you needed to present yourself to the spa reception in your white robe and slippers! We looked at the restaurant menu, it was quite pricey and the side dishes all £3. The set menu had dishes on that did not appeal to us so we decided to go for a bar meal in the Poachers Bar. The menu stated that the pies would be served with seasonal vegetables We presumed this would include potatoes of some description. The meals arrived with vegetables that were practically raw and inedible! On telling the waiter this he said he would tell the chef but we were not offered any discount on the bar meal. Drinks service was very poor and we were ignored so we left early. Next morning a wonderful breakfast buffet was served but again the service let it down. We had to ask for more coffee and toast. Overall we would stay again but eat in Whitby or Sandssend

Loved every second we were there couldnt find fault with any thing breakfast to die for cant wait to go again and will be going as soon as possible

A stunningly tranquil location yet within easy access (via car) to town centre & beach. If you like walking, there are walks from the hotel through the grounds, to both beach & town - a lovely concept. Quality furnishing & fittings & very helpful staff. All in all, a peaceful escape.

I booked a short stay at Raithwaite to celebrate my wifes birthday. The rooms are moderrn but with a traditional feel in keeping with the character of the hotel.The grounds are beautiful and the staff friendly and efficient. We chose to eat in the Poachers bar and the staff were very pleasant and the food well presented and fairly priced for the quality of the hotel. Breakfast was excellent. We would stay again.

Positives:- Very pleasant, well trained staff. Good restaurant. Comfortable bar area. Gorgeous location. Negatives:- Hotel refurbishment lacking in quality. No towel warmer in bathroom, cheap tiles in bathroom, shower over bath, single washbasin. No voile curtains in bedroom. No opaque glass in bathroom. Spa fully booked well before date of stay. No handrails in bathroom, swimming pool or jacuzzi. Poor quality furniture in bedroom.

very nice welcome everything we expected nothing too much trouble if you have the money enjoy! only if you want, and expect the best. a very enjoyable stay.

Had a lovely time, staff were attentive and polite, lovely hotel and gardens

but close to everything you could want. We had a great weekend, the staff were more than helpful fabulous facilities a little bit crowded on the weekend though, we ate in the resturant felt it was a little bit pricey would eat in the bar next time just as good food. We would stay again but through the week.

Raithwaite Hall Hotel is a little gem of a retreat on the edge of Whitby. You are made to feel very special here and have to see the quality of the rooms and fittings to fully appreciate what an amazing place it is. We were very impressed by the attention we were given by the staff, treated as if we were very important indeed.!We only stayed for one night but we'd have happily settled in for a week such was the luxury of our surroundings. The bedding was sumptious linen and the home made shortbread was a treat !
