Holiday Inn Express Marseille - Provence Airport - Vitrolles

Staff was professional and courteous. Room was very nice. Shuttle service to the airport was prompt.

The hotel staff were great and very friendly. The shuttle bus was excellent - we returned our rental car late in the afternoon before our flight the following day to avoid any delays and were picked up within five minutes of our calling reception. The room was basic but very clean and the bed extremely comfortable. Everything seemed almost new and the decor was smart. Breakfast was plentiful and the coffee surprisingly good. An excellent choice for a quite and very convenient airport hotel.

We stayed there for one night and were pleasantly surprise by the amenities offered.

The hotel is excellent, particularly if you need to catch a flight at MRS. My only complaint: the place where the shuttle for the hotel stops at the airport is not clearly marked. Or, the shuttle often does not stop where it is supposed to. That can be quite a problem late at night.However, the staff, including the shuttle driver, are very friendly and otherwise helpful. The hotel (or a sign with its name) is also not clearly visible at night - so we could not locate it despite driving pretty close to it. However, it is extremely clean and comfortable. The breakfast is great. Overall - excellent stay. Thanks!

Staff was friendly and the rooms were ok. Breakfast was fine. Evening meals/snacks in the hotel are terrible. As there is nothing else close by I urgently recommend a Pizza delivery.

Very convenient to airport. There are also other shopping and dining options nearby if you have a car.

Excellent hotel with great shuttle service to the MP2 Airport. Stayed here after a late night arrival prior to touring in France. Hotel is extremely close to a SNCF train line so connections are easy.

I was pleasantly surprised with this hotel. It was really clean and the bed was so comfortable. A compact room with all the comforts of home. I had just a ten hour lay over between flights and decided it was just too long to stay at the airport. The hotel is minute away so I was able to get a few hours down time and a nice hot shower before I started the next leg of my journey. I would definitely stay again.

Hotl is close to airport, and that is all we needed. Very good and efficient shuttle service, clean, comfortable room. We would definitely stay there again.

Nice new clean hotel but breakfast was disappointing - compared to your average mom&pop French hotel the breakfast was worse. I had an overnight her here between flights and was very disappointed in the shuttle service. It is only about a 2 minute drive to the airport but it took the shuttle 30 minutes to reach us when we called for pickup. In the morning I came out at 7:25 and was asked "did you book the shuttle?". Nobody had told me there was a need to book. No problem they said - the next one is at 7:40. Meanwhile, the driver sat in the lobby on his cell phone from 7:25 to 7:45 when we finally left and in that time he could have driven us there and back three times. Overall I'd say probably not worth it as it was more expensive than other local options with worse service. Front desk people at night were very nice.

We chose this hotel because of its proximity to the Marseilles airport and reasonable rate. We stayed here the night we arrived and again the night before an early departure. It was perfect! Very close and convenient, but a lovely place to stay for any reason. Very nice, comfortable room, good place for an evening snack, and good breakfast. The manager (Cyrille?) was the best. Very capable, and was very patient with my French. They also had very good shuttle service to the airport. We'd definitely stay here again.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The room was very stylish, very soft and comfortable bedding and a nice breakfast. The location was terrific for our trip as we had to be at the airport by 8 a.m. and the hotel was less than a kilometer away. Breakfast started at 630 a.m. so we were able to eat before our flight. The staff was quite helpful, recommending a good place to eat nearby and we appreciate that she could speak english well. Great value. We'd definately stay here again!

This was on the lower end of the typical Holiday Inn Express, but still acceptable for business travel. The main problem is the airport shuttle servcie. Prior to check-in I was assured they have service every 30 minutes. However, after waiting 50 minutes with service, it turns out that you need to call to request the service. Everything else was OK. I dont think I would stay here again, but instead choose the Pullman for a litte higher price. My prior stays at the Pullman have been excellent.

Staff was friendly and helpful. Room was very comfortable and clean. Very modern and up-to-date amenities. Quiet room. Convenient shuttle to airport at any hour (even 5:00 a.m.).

Good hotel with helpful front desk, but they need more people on staff. I had to wait 30 min for the airport shuttle one day and they are only 4 minutes from the airport. Plus, the shuttle is only for daytime, so if you leave or arrive really early or really late, don't count on the shuttle. We paid at total of 40 euros for round trip to/from airport.

We'll be back. We only wish there were restaurants within walking distance as the current dinner menu is limited. If we had a car it would be no problem.

We booked the airport hotel as out flight landed just before midnight and there didnt appear to be any trains going into Marseille city that late at night. There is a free shuttle service but this stops at 11pm so we were too late for this so got a taxi which cost 7.50 Euros. The hotel is really close to the airport but you cannot walk there as it is across an intersection and no paths. The hotel itself is new, clean and even has a pool. breakfast was included in the price but when we went there at around 8:30 most of the food had gone and all the tables were dirty so if you want a decent breakfast get up earlier than we did. Got the free shuttle bus to the train station in the morning which was a nice touch. Would recommend the hotel only for a nights stop before or after a flight. Marseille itself is going through a process of change as it is going to be European City of Culture 2013 so lots and lots of building work going on (we were there August 2012) so if you are thinking of visiting I'd recommend waiting until next year!

We found out when entering in our room that the air conditionning wasn't working.We had to sleep with the windows open which isn't great close to an airport and with a baby...

Great Stay - I would recommended the hotel highly. The hotel shuttle leaves at 6am our flight left at 6am - therefore we had to take a taxi that was arranged by the hotel. The cost of the taxi was 30 Euros one way for a distance of 1.5K about 1 mile - too far to walk with luggage. it seems like a racket - maybe one of the hotel staff's brother is the "taxi" as it was there were two couples to the airport each charged 30 Euro.... that's about $70 one way - again for a one mile trip. Someone is definitely on the take.

The hotel is brand new & parts are still under construction which was no problem. What really bothered me was that the first room were were given had a man sleeping in the bed! The key opened the room which made me wander about security. The other room was unoccupied but I made sure all door locks were engaged.

This hotel was super clean and comfortable -- it seemed brand new and modern in design. We had a 6 a.m. flight so wanted to be at the airport. The staff was lovely; there was a pool; and the bed was super comfortable. The price was quite reasonable. I would go back!

the hotel is totally new and and very well equiped.breakfast was good and rich.the only problem was the strong smell of humidity (room 104).very close to airport and transportation service very efficiant.we recomend

Excellent location and new rooms. Staff was so friendly. Pool was great for afternoon swim. 5 minutes to airport and shuttle is a great service. I will sure recommend and use it again.

They put us in a handicap room. Awkward. Booked months in advance but that was the best room they gave us bc then they were booked. Not sure if it hotels.com or the hotel. Would not stay there again regaurdless.

The Holiday Inn Express is brand new, very modern, and easily accessible from the Marseille Airport. There is a complimentary shuttle that runs from 6am to 11pm. There is a phone at the Marseille Airport to call for a pick-up. We arrived at 11:15pm and had to take a taxi so try to plan ahead for an earlier flight. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The hotel has a pool and a little pool-lounging area. I wish we would have had time to enjoy it!

Not much round the hotel to do - used the hotel shuttle service to head back to the airport for lunch as this is not available at the hotel. Their evening snacks were good and breakfast was fine also. good clean hotel during our two day stay work men were on site for 7.30am digging away :-(Having said all that I would use this aiport again as it was clean and comfortable

I liked the location being so close to the airport. The staff was wonderful and the room spacious and clean. I recommend this hotel to every one!

This is a new hotel which is still under construction but they have opened up a completed portion for guests. Rooms are very modern and bathrooms are outstanding. The hotel staff is excellent and very helpful. It would have been nice if limited food service could be available during the day. At the moment only breakfast and snack type food is offered in the evening. Given paucity of restaurants in the area this would be a nice addition. However, one can take the hotel's shuttle bus over to the airport and eat there is necessary or at one of the competing hotels in the area. Overall a great hotel and I expect it will be even better once it is fully operational.

For tired travellers looking for an overnight stay prior to flying out of Marseille Province airport this is an ideal choice. The staff is first class, hot and cold buffet breakfast is included and quite good and varied, the airport shuttle picks you up and drops you off at the airport on request, rooms are quiet and well appointed, and the cost is reasonable, compared to other area accomodations. While the hotel expansion is still in development, the pool was in the final stages (spring 2012). The only downside is the lack of a proper dining area, and lack of restaurants in this largely industrial area. A good value nonetheless.

New property (2/2012) Clean nice staff

We stayed in this room for one night before flying out of the Marseille airport. It was a great deal, clean, and very comfortable. It is just a couple of minutes drive to the airport.

Apart from getting lost looking for the hotel (we thought we'd be able to walk.... you cant) We later found out that there is apparently a "button" at the airport to call for the shuttle bus. But we went to another hotel and asked if they could call our hotel, and we were picked up like lost children. Was an advebture... We had the chicken salad for dinner, lots of chicken with sundried tomatoes, nice jamon and cheese, not really enough salad for substance. But not quite a ripoff for 9 euros..... Now the room was so lovely, modern, comfortable, lovely big walk in shower, Breakfast was alright. Only qualm was that when we checked out we were charged a bill of 1.84 euros, which I cannot for the life of me figure out why? And no we didnt buy any drinks/adult movies/box office tv so no idea how but couldnt be bothered to argue. Even a little sign in the bathroom (in french) saying that if you forgot anything like razors toothbrush they would provide free ones.... nice!!!
