Tauraa Hotel - הנגה רואה

We really enjoyed our stay at Taura'a, primarily because of the terrific care that owners Edith and Bill provide their guests. The rooms are a bit rustic, and hot water was erratic, something that we came across frequently in our travels in South America, but those minor inconveniences were more than offset by the pleasure of connecting with our hosts, enjoying the delicious, healthy, home-cooked breakfasts, and easy access to downtown Hanga Roa. We thoroughly enjoyed a lengthy chat with Edith about growing up on the island and the culture surrounding her large, extended family.

The only drawback is a very pushy owner, who want all business to stay within her 22-strong extended family, from car rent to tours. Breakfasts - as everybody report - are very good with fresh fruit. But their coffee is as horrible as in the rest of Chile. The main problem is that the owner does not respect exchange rate. You either have to pay cash in US$ or she will charge you 500 Chilean pesos per 1US$ - 6-7% above the current exchange rate. No way out is available. So - either bring US$ cash or prepare to pay 6-7% higher price that you got from Hotels.com or other internet website.

This is a basic hotel about 10 rooms walking distance to everything in town. They ran their own tours which were well run and very informative. The husband ran the tours and did a great job. The wife runs the hotel and sometimes is a little hard to deal with. Breakfast is included and is usually very good.

I can't say enough about how genuinely warm and welcoming all of the staff at this hotel were. The hotel provides transportation to and from the airport. The rooms were spotless and spacious, and well-designed to allow for cooling airflow in the hot weather. The gardens surrounding the hotel were very beautiful and well maintained, and provided a very relaxing and enjoyable atmosphere after a long day of sightseeing. The breakfasts were far above anything else I have had travelling in Chile - delicious, filling, and always included wonderful fresh fruit. I highly recommend the tours that the hotel offers, they were well-paced, thorough, and very reasonably priced. There is a wealth of information in the tours that you would simply not get trying to tour around yourself. I can't recommend this hotel enough - a must stay if on Easter Island.

This is not a luxury hotel. It is a simple, clean room (no TV) with a nice bed in the middle of the only village on the island. What makes it a great hotel is the people. My flight was delayed 11 hours flying to Easter Island, but there was still someone from the hotel at the airport at 4 AM to pick me up. Not only that, but i was only charged for 2 of the 3 nights for which i registered because of the delay. The people who run this place are very nice, and you get a handmade fresh breakfast every day.

We enjoyed our stay and will definitely choose the hotel again. It s a family run hotel and everybody is here to help. It feels good. The location is good, very short walk to the main street (2 minutes) and walking distance (20 minutes) to Ahu Tahai and its wonderful sunset. We chose a privat tour with the owner (Bill) and it was great. We got lo learn a lot, at a comfortable pace, far from the tourist groups. Strongly recommend it if you stay over.

Atendido por sus dueños, son muy acogedores y preocupados por sus huespedes. 100% recomendable.

Es un hotel familiar, intentarán hacer todo lo posible para que disfrutes de tus vacaciones sin preocuparte por nada, desde conseguirte un coche de alquiler hasta una reserva para cenar el plato más típico de isla de pascua. Muy limpio, con desayunos maravillosos.
