My wife and I with our three boys aged 6, 10 and 13 spent 10 days at Villas Barrrocal in August. The apartment was very clean and the staff very helpful and hardworking. We pre hired a Fiat Punto (it was big enough) which we think is essential for getting the provisions for self catering that the kids liked however beer, wine milk bread, eggs etc can be bought at the shop just outside of the entrance to the site. If you have Portugese tastes and are ok communicating with the locals perhaps you could get everything you needed aswell. We brought a Sat Nav with us, it gave us a couple of duff turns but getting about would have been a problem without it. The main motorway that spans the Algarve is a numberplate recognition Toll Road which has to be paid at a Post Office there is a PO about 500m from the site and not expensive. The pool bar is open from 10am to 10pm and serves snacks, icecream, tea, alcohol etc at which were very good value for money and served with a smile. Whilst looking to book a holiday we were frustrated at the ludicrous prices during the school holidays however we were very happy with the value for money. A mixture of nationalities enjoyed the pool area which was chilled out. We are not great in the heat and sun but with the sun tan cream, the car to get about to Slip and Slide and Zoo marine parks and the Air Con in the rooms (which was brill) we really did enjoy our stay

Our second visit and very impressed once again. Very friendly staff. Excellent accommodation, conveniently located on the outskirts of Pera and a lovely walk to the beach.

Wonderful people and place, great location to get around to see the rest of the Algarve the way it is supposed to be. You obviously need a car but will enjoy getting around and seeing this wonderful region of Portugal. Very close to Armacao de Pera and Albufeira if it is action you are looking for.It is close to a lot of small communities worth looking at and discovering.

We hired one of the three bedroomed villas for 3 nights in February for two of us, after I found a really good deal on the internet. When we entered my initial thought was that it looked a little bit sad, but the place really grew on me as I stayed there. The kitchen was well equipped, not the most modern but with granite worktops and most things you would need including a dishwasher, rare in 3 star accommodation on the Algarve. Kitchen linens, a scrubber, washing up liquid and an initial dishwasher tablet were all provided and the linens were replaced during our stay.There was a kettle and toaster. One minus point - there were no wine glasses in the kitchen, this is the second place I have found this in the Algarve (the other being the Vale d'el Rei), and the other glasses in the kitchen were cloudy through being washed in the dishwasher, a personal dislike. However, a quick trip up the road to the excellent Continente supermarket at the Algarve shopping centre (5 mins away, on the N125 just outside Guia) soon sorted this, so for the excellent price we paid I was more than happy. Those on restricted diets for medical reasons should be aware that Continente also stock a range of special dietary products including gluten free - all on shelves in the far left hand corner of the store as you enter. There was a 6 person table in the kitchen, one that would seat 8 in the lounge/diner as well as a plastic table and chairs outside, so plenty of options for dining. There were two bedrooms and a full bathroom upstairs and a further bedroom and a shower room/ guest cloakroom downstairs. All were clean and comfortable. Beds were slightly firm, this is the same throughout the Algarve and is how we like them. Bed linens were of good quality and there were some spare blankets and pool towels in the wardrobes. Wifi was available, though the signal varied - it extended to our villa further away from reception intermittently, but we found sitting in the windows of the two upstair

Uma das melhores experiências no Algarve. Desde a recepcionista Andreia que foi super atenciosa e sempre disposta a ajudar, tal como a villa que era simplesmente fenomenal, tudo limpissimo e com tudo o que se pode precisar! Cozinha super bem equipada! quartos super confortaveis e os terraços maravilhosos. Tem um mini mercado e um café do lado! Optimo Optimo e o preço fenomenal :)

Wir haben das Hotel aufgrund seiner zentralen Lage an der Algarve und somit seiner optimalen Ausgangslage für Tagestouren gebucht. So liegt es zwar etwas weiter weg von den Hochburgen wie bspw. Lagos und Portimao. Aber sowohl Richtung Osten bis Faro und Tavira, als auch Richtung Westen bis Lagos und Sagres ist alles bequem mit dem Auto (Muss!) über die N125 zu erreichen. Die Appartments sind sehr geräumig und gut ausgestattet (Geschirr, großer Kühlschrank, Spülmaschine, Fön usw.). WLAN funktioniert eingeschränkt. Parkplätze sind auf dem Hotelgelände vorhanden. Ich kann mir allerdings vorstellen, dass es in der Hauptsaison eng werden könnte. Kleiner, aber feiner Poolbereich. Kleinere Snacks sind zu erschwinglichen Preisen erhältlich. Ebenso können Massagen zu akzeptablen Preisen im Hotel gebucht werden. Im Nachbarort gibt es eine größere Auswahl an Restaurants und den nächstgelegenen Strand. Ein kleiner Minimarkt (leider sehr teuer) befindet sich direkt neben dem Eingang zum Hotelbereich, ein großes Einkaufszentrum nur wenige Kilometer weiter in Guia. Das Preis-/Leistungsverhältnis war top und ich würde jedem das Hotel empfehlen, der nicht nur einen Ort an der Algarve besuchen will, mobil ist und eine sehr ruhige Lage jeglichem Partyrummel bevorzugt.

Geweldige locatie. Ca. een half uur van de boulevard van Armacao en het dorpje Pera is leuk met wat kleine winkeltjes en eettentjes. Mooi uitgangspunt voor diverse wandelingen.

Service außergewöhnlich gut, sehr freundliches Personal, sehr saubere Zimmer, Zimmerservice während des Aufenthalts, ruhige Lage 2 km vom Strand entfernt.

Nos subieron a un apartamento superior por llegar antes y no tener nuestro apartamento listo. Es enorme y todas las habitaciones con aire acondicionado y armarios generosos. Sitio propio para aparcar el coche. Lo peor: la tele es pequeña y la señal mala. La señal wifi no entraba bien, sólo en la zona de la piscina.

Los aparamentos son bastante comodos, con toda lo necesario en cocina, baños, etc. La decoración un estilo bastante austero, anticuado...El staff muy amable y colaborador. Es indispensable el coche, pero si lo tienes hay muchas cositas interesantes alrededor, no perderse Galos, Praia Marinha, Nossa Senhora da Rocha y Carvoeiro

Sauber und ordentlich, vielleicht etwas abgelegen aber dafuehr ruhig.

Das Apartement war prima. Leider liegt die Anlage doch etwas abseits.Ansonsten aber sehr gut.

God standar på leilighetene, bassenget og den lille kafeen knyttet til anlegget. God service og veldig sentralt til mange av attraksjonene på Algarvekysten.

Det var bare så godt!!! stille og roligt og søde og hjælpsomme mennesker der srbejdede der!!! Tag dertil og du vil ikke fortryde et sekund!!!! Hyggelig landsby - Përa, med billige supermacados, frisør, sydame , lægeklinik og massage butik!!!!!
