Rickerby Grange Country House - קזוויק

The hotel is tired and is not a "country house" or a hotel. It offers no evening meal and no communal seating area - it has one but it is locked for much of the day and evening! No heating during our stay did not help, nor really did the very small radiator we were given to hear BOTH the bedroom and the bathroom. Breakfast requests were barked at customers and there was not a feel of welcome throughout our two-day stay.

Owner friendly. Pleased to get an upgrade to a room with en suite .Lovely view of mountains from window. Would stay again if wanting to visit Keswick. Only gripe - as a previous reviewer mentioned - dogs should not be in dining area at any time - apparently dog was old and not well - in dining area then moved to bar area during breakfast time.

Was an excellent place to stay with good quality breakfast. Nice little hotel. Highly recomended for everyone who does not want to stay in an expensive hotel with all the unnecesary services. Very friendly. Thank you.

My room was reasonably clean but did not have en-suite facilies as requested or a shower in the bathroom which was next to my room. The owners were pleasant and friendly but the upkeep of the hotel was starting to deteriorate. The welcome tray was not replenished each day. The location was good for what I was doing. I was surprised that dogs were allowed to stay in the bedrooms but I discovered that some people stay there for that reason. Breakfasts were good but the time of the evening meal did not cover my needs as I had an evening meeting each night.

Friendly welcome. Good comfortable room. Nice full English for your walking energy needs. 2 mile walk to bottom of Cat Bells - 1 mile walk to Keswick centre. Would definitely go again.

We had a very relaxing stay with a great breakfast and comfy room. Though we had been to Keswick on several occassions before we had never stayed in Portinscale , what a lovely village it is. The hotel owners were there if you needed anything and very friendly.

Easy access to Keswick and surrounding lake and hills. Very friendly and comfortable hotel with easy free parking. Room was clean, warm and comfortable with en suite and a superb bed and pillows- slept like a log! Food was also substantial and excellent. Would go again.

Hotel was nice but the family dog had a free roam of the dining room and bar area, OK the dog may be nice but if like me you are not a dog fan it will be a problem and i am sure that the local enviromental health may have a problem with a dog in that enviroment, The room was not the best it was dated a little scruffy and all the cables that run to that high level TV just hold dirt and dust, the room was full of furniture, robe and half with drawers and mirror fine for one but why another dresser and chair, why the sink? and why three mirrors, the private bathroom was a short walk down the hall and had it's own problems that need work, cracked and broken tiles at the end of the bath and other cracked and broken tiles hidden by the bin under the sink (yes second sink!) and the worst for this day and age NO shower!! and I can go on with more, breakfast was good if you don't mind confirming your order two or three times, car parking is OK if you are in early but a bit tight if you come in later, I think that this room needs a re-think and up grade to todays standards, All I can say is the place is dated and needs work and is in a residential road, the hotel is short of a welcome pack saying what it offers, food, bar and local services, but a short walk down the road is a nice local pub serving good food and I think that the village has a bus link to Kendal

All in all are stay was very nice freindly owners, with a good breakey, our room was a small but in a nice quite location. was a great base to explore the area. not a long walk to keswick

We enjoyed our stay. The location is good if you plan to tour the area. Oscar the dog was great fun.

A very warm and friendly welcome from Des and Carol the owners. Great location 1 mile from Keswick town centre 20min walk, but you don't mind with the breathtaking scenery. Hotel is located in quiet surroundings, and a 10-15 min walk from Nichols End jetty to catch the launch to take you around Derwentwater stopping at various points. Breakfast is good full english and the rooms are nice clean. All in all a very pleasant stay would definitely recommend to anyone thinking of staying in Keswick.

The owners have done an amazing job making your stay a pleasant one. The room was modern and well equipped, and very clean. The location is quiet and stunningly beautiful. The family that run this place are really friendly and helpful. I highly recommend staying here.

The owners, Des and Carol, went the extra mile for us in every possible way. It was quiet at night and conveniently located as a base for exploring England's Lake District.

the hotel was only functioning over the weekend, which should have been made clear at time of booking. It is an accaplable B&B but needs to up its game to be a hotel. Bar not operating 3 out of 5 nights nor reastrauant. A good breakfast. no telephone in my room and the smallest en-suite/ shower, no room for the cat. I booked the room as it was a ground floor room, and I have mobility impairment. step outside room, no outside lighting showing area, which made finding step & key hole difficult when navigating at night. The room was accessed from the car park direct and felt quite separate from the rest of the hotel. I was told I could use the lounge, but with no bar - no point.

Very well looked after by this B&B

Excellent value for money warm and cosy friendly owners great location.

An excellent guesthouse conveniently located for Keswick (4 pound taxi ride). We were made to feel welcome, the breakfast was fantastic. I would recommend the guesthouse to anyone who wants a great base for some of the great walks in the Lakes

The ground floor room was tastefully furnished, clean and comfortable. The shower room was small but functional with plenty of hot water. Breakfast was excellent-good quality food which was beautifully cooked. We were given a warm welcome by the owners who could not have been more helpful. The location could not have been better-quiet and within easy reach of the fells and a great pub. We will definitely book again.

We enjoyed our stay

We spent a lovely 1 night stay as a family of 3 in room 8. The welcome was warm and friendly, the accomodation was comfortable, clean and contemporary and the breakfast was excellent. What more do you need between lakeland walks?

perfect for visiting the Lakes

Fint hotel med moderne værelser efter engelsk standard i mindre landsby i gå atstand til Keswick, Derwent Water og gode vandreture fx til Cat Bells.Klassisk engelsk morgenmad. Tæt på landsbyens pub, der serverer fornuftig pub mad.

Godt og stille hotel hvor vi følte os meget velkomne. Værtsparret meget åbne, rare og hjælpsome

Das Country House fügt sich ähnlich einer Villa in einen Dorfteil ein. Die Umgebung ist deshalb auf einen Parkplatz und einen kleinen Vorgarten beschränkt. Das Zimmer war für zwei Personen zu eng. Platz hatte es nur für ein Reisegepäck. Die Zimmer sind ausgesprochen ringhörig, was bei ruhigen Nachbarn aber kein Problem ist. Die Bar haben wir während unserem dreitätigen Aufenthalt nie offen gesehen. Ein Absacker lag also nie drin. Das Frühstück war ausgezeichnet, wurde aber nur zwischen 8 und 9 gereicht.

Über 30 Minuten Fussweg vom Ort entfernt. Zweckmässige Zimmer. Sehr ruhig. Gutes Frühstück. Teueres Abendessen.

Det var et meget dejligt område - stille og roligt med en fin gå-afstand til centrum af Keswick.
