IMO a really great hotel, great value, nice service. The staff is kind and helpful (no problem to print out your e-tickets you've bought online, I recommend doing this, much cheaper and you don't have to wait in line that much) The room was nice and clean with a modern look, not really big but the space was enough. Nice and large bathroom. The breakfast is full english and really nice and tasty! Can't complain. Recommended!

Breakfast was the only let down, it was all processed and tasted old. but hotel and staff were lovely. woudl stay again.

Hotel nice and clean, rooms very small as everyone says, great location for visiting central London only 15 mins by train. Station only 5 min walk from hotel. Room service left a pillow case in our sink, with brown stains all over it, don't know where that had come from, reception not very happy but was going to sort it with house keeping, but never heard any more. Hotel very good, breakfast excellent. would stay again.

Nice clean hotel with very pleasant staff. Free wifi and room furnished to a good standard. Menu very limited in particular if you are staying regularly.

Very nic hotel & location...the only small thing was that the reception staff came up to me while getting my breakfast & said that i had only booked for a single room so only one person could have a free breakfast in front of my partner. I went to reception to complain & when they checked they apologised as they saw i booked for a double. Although I was there on business my partner felt unsettled & we did not enjoy our breakfast.

I would use again. The hotel and room was clean and modern. I would compare it to a 'new' Premier Inn.

Wonderful experience. Courteous and friendly staff. Clean and comfortable rooms (a bit small compared to US hotels). Will definitely stay here again.

Great hotel at a fantastic overnight rate. Overnight rate included breakfast too, although a buffet the quality on offer was of a high standard and plentiful. Room was very clean and a bonus of free wifi. Reception staff were very welcoming and efficient. Can highly recommend Hampton Hilton if you need to stay in East Croydon especially on an offer.

Smaller rooms than other EC hotels, but a new build means rooms in brand new condition. 5 min walk away from EC train station means commuting into London fairly easy, although now this is more expensive than ever. Pleasant service and 12 noon check-out time.

Hampton by Hilton is a fantastic chain and highly recommend consistently good value.

First impressions of the hotel staff were not great. My partner and I checked in pretty late (about 12.30am). We had to wait outside in the rain for about ten minutes because there was no one on the desk to let us in! Someone eventually appeared from the back and let us in. However instead of sounding apologetic, he was quite rude and had WAY to many excuses. The disappointment of service from the reception was quickly forgotton once we reached our room. Clean, modern and comfy, just what we were hoping. The bathroom and bedroom area were spotless! I didnt find the bed overly comfortable but it was OK. Unbfortunately we didnt wake up in time for breakfast but I look forward to trying it out next time we stay!

H by H was a very clean and professional environment. Staff were very accommodating and helpful. Our room was again exceptionally clean , bright and comfortable. Would highly recommend and use again.

Stayed here 1 night in Dec 2012. Arrived at 9.00pm. Firstly, you have to park across the road in the multi-storey directly opposite the hotel but as a single lady traveller, I didn't feel comfortable walking through the car park - the immediate area is grim. The person who checked me in was not at all welcoming or friendly - totally disinterested, argumentative and gave the impression my checking in was an inconvenience. I was asked if I wanted to eat in the bar and when I declined was rudely told I had to leave a credit card authorisation for "extras." I declined and was told that if I didn't then I couldn't have the room! After challenging this but met with a wall of resistance, I agreed but only for £5. She debited £50 from my debit card which I didn't notice - it was late, I was tired and the display had a 5 in it! What on earth was I going to spend £50 on at 9.30pm on a Tuesday night when I had already said I wasn't eating or drinking in the bar? Room was as expected; very comfortable and clean. Breakfast is good if you avoid the hot stuff. Checking out was laughable. I was told the £50 would take up to 10 days to be re-credited to my account. When I asked to see the Manager I was told they were unavailable. Needless to say I am still waiting for my refund and my emails to the hotel have gone unanswered. The accommodation is great and what you would expect from a H by H but the staff are incompetant and rude.

Breakfast very good. Customer service commendable. Very good all round.

Our actual stay in this hotel wasn't too bad at all which is one of the reasons why we chose to use Hampton by Hilton again. The only downside to the stay was the area, we had never been to Croydon before so we didn't know what to expect, but one thing for sure is we wont be returning. Our first impression of the area wasn't very good to start off with, all we could see were children/men looking like they were up to no good (chavs), another experience was once we had got into the hotel and had settled we decided to go out for a meal during our night stay. While walking back to my car, my parter (girlfriend) who was walking abit behide me as I was heading to pay our few hours parking charge, was suddenly harassed by a very unsafe and scary looking man in a hoody who kept repeating how he found her attractive, this made her feel very unsafe but then lucky enough the man carried on walking by for her to run towards me for safety. In short terms if you do decide to stay here, once you've parked your car and got into the hotel, I wouldn't recommend to go back out until daylight.

Comfortable,modern hotel. Five minute walk to East Croydon station which offers frequent fast ( 15 mins approx) services to London Victoria. Free WiFi and decent buffet breakfast add to the value for money

It was very pleasant. Need to provide more information about the facilities such as restaurant menu n snack offered etc..very good location and very clean. Staff are all very helpful.

Very friendly and helpful staff - both on reception, in the bar and at breakfast time. Breakfast was nice and though quite busy we always managed to find a table. Staff do tidy up around you after breakfast closes but although we were still finishing our coffee everyone was still really nice and smiley plus allowed us to sit and chat for as long as we wanted. Only very minor thing if being critical was that the room was "snug, the bed was very hard and we only had 6 hangers between 2 of us - but we really enjoyed our stay.

What I would expect for the price bar meals where good as was breakfast but it is self service

I am a fan of the Hilton hotels anyway, and this hotel did not disappoint; this is a lovely, modern hotel. It was scrupulously clean and tidy and the staff very friendly and professional. My only one criticism is that our bed was very hard, so much so that it was uncomfortable and I was unable to sleep. Our double room was small but perfectly formed, and the shower was just amazing- a real power shower that was beautifully designed and I was left feeling extremely refreshed. We went for an overnight stay to visit our son who lives in Beckenham and ate out in Croydon, which was fine. There is also quite a nice little shopping centre. Overall, a very pleasant stay and although the bed was too hard, I will definately be returning to Hampton by Hilton again in the very near future.

poor customer service , room was book for 3 people but it was ready only for 2 for the first night. very small rooms - luggage need to be kept in bathroom as no place to leave in tiny room. M Courtyard Hotels offers better standard for the same money. Breakfast was nice but thats about it. and staff cleans room very well so well they did throw away my prescription eye drops to the bin just because was left on the side of wash basin.

I have to say that it was quite impressive and very modern, upon my arrival there was only one receptionist on duty who was busy on the phone, with a delivery driver and myself waiting to be attended to it must have been at least 10 mins before I was able to check in and had to pay a £50 retainer on my card before I was given the card key to my room. Perhaps they can come up with a better system as not everyone including myself wishes to use the bar. The room was very clean and modern, but due to lack of space we kept catching our legs on the protruding base of the bed, which had quite a firm mattress and I did not sleep well, the view from the room was of adjoining offices and their car parks and the TV freeview channels were extremely basic. The bathroom was excellent, very modern to a 4 star standard, but the bath towels were very small compared to other hotels. Would I use it again? Probably not, unless it was the only hotel available.

Stayed in a family room with my daughters. Very clean. Comfortable (apart from the sofa bed). The parking is easy enough straight across the road for a fiver. Really pleasent stay and buffet breakfast was included and more than good enough for us :)

This is a fantastic hotel, all friendly & welcoming staff, the facilities were great, and the rooms were comfortable, clean & felt homely. Free view television. The location is perfect for dining, drinking & transport links. So much choice for breakfast. Will definitely, stay here again. Worth the money!
