Ramada Encore Newcastle-Gateshead - גייטסהד

Stayed overnight for business. The room was excellent with size and deco. Service was excellent as well as well as the catering service staff, very friendly and helpful. The location was nice, quiet and convenient to city centre. The only problem is it's not recognised easily by gps thus it took me quite a while to find it during dark night.

I stayed here simply because my son lives a couple of minutes walk away and it was cheaper than the even nearer Jurys Inn. I was on my own, had a very quiet king size room, bed was comfy and room was clean with a iatnt view of the 'blibnking bridge' across the car park. I didn't use any of the restaurants so cannot comment on them, but overall for me the hotel, while a bit souless was ideal for what I wanted and a very reasonable price.

I enjoyed my stay, it was a good location being a few minute walk from the quayside. There was a lot of noise early hours of the morning but I stayed on a Friday and Saturday night on a bank holiday weekend, and you'd expect that anywhere in Newcastle being the party town it is. The hotel itself was ideal for a getaway. Staff were friendly and knowledgeable. My only criticism would be that whenever a neighbouring rooms door went, it felt like someone was coming into our room. The doors were far too flimsy.

Everything was fine with the hotel. We struggled to get hot water out of the sink in the bathroom, but other than that, everything was fine. Nice location right next to the Millennium Bridge and the Sage.

Been here a few times now, great location, minutes away from the Quayside. Recommended!

Good food, friendly service. Small but free to use fitness room. Parking on site is extra. The rooms are comfortable and have everything you need.

The Ramada-Encore is on the Gateshead side of the river, but is no more than ten minutes stroll from the Newcastle Quayside, and maybe another ten to the city centre (retail, Sy. James' park etc). Hotel is modern, efficient, breakfast is good with a decent range of options. You may well get the obligatory hen and stag parties at the weekend, but I think most city centre hotels in this category will. Overall, I'd definitely use the Ramada-Encore again.

Impressed with our overnight stay here, which is in a great location for the sage or the radio metro arena. Some rooms can even see the tyne! Small ish rooms, but very fashionably decorated. Friendly staff, bar with food and great receptionists. 9/10 overall.

Very good hotel with friendly staff. Nice relaxing walk from hotel to town over Milennium Bridge. Didn't try food, but bar is nicely laid out and relaxing.

A new hotel on the Gateshead side of the river. The rooms are comfortable enough and the place is clean, with friendly and helpful staff. The Newcastle quayside is a five minute walk over the millennium Bridge. Free internet means the only drawback is the £5 per night car park charge.

Stayed on business for two nights. Functional, clean with helpful, friendly staff. Easy walk to Quayside area of Newcastle but Q1 bus (stop outside back of hotel) goes straight there and to station. For the price - hard to beat.

Beautiful new hotel, rather empty - possibly due to location? Great for the Sage, but there isn't much else around there. Dinner in the restaurant is very good. Be careful if using a sat nav to get there - the one way system can be very confusing.

Have been staying at the Ramada Gateshead every week for the past 4 months. Overall very clean and well presented. Close to the town centre and Quayside. Rooms are of a good size and welcoming. Free WIFI. Only downside is the very weak shower in all the rooms and levels I have stayed in.

Clean, good location for the price.

Have stayed in the Ramada Encore - Gateshead twice now. Convenient location close to the stage. Rooms modern and clean - cummy king bed! Sleep like a baby. More classy than a budget hotel. Fantastic price. Car parking extra which is an additional charge when considering hotel. Would stay again if rates are good.

We came here for the Great North Run, were well looked-after. Staff were brilliant and breakfast service very good as they made my wife and myself porridge. The only downside was that the room got a bit hot, but we would stay here again without hesitation. Very close to places to eat and drink and it was fun walking across Millennium Bridge nearby.

The hotel was clean and quiet with everything you need in hotel. It does have poor transport routes and the hotels Taxi supplier are very unreliable. So poor that the two times reception confirmed a taxi it didn't turn up promising to be in next ten, next 10 etc. Went all the way to 75minutes one day with me having a class of 24 delegates waiting me in a hotel across town. Ramada then realy helped as the HR director personally loaded me up in his vehicle and was about to take me across town when the taxi arrived. Can't fault that for CS! 5* to this hotel. Only minor side is location as it's only served closely by Bus routes.

This hotel is well located at a good price. Nice helpful staff.

Overall pretty good, however....Bathroom door weighted to swing out, but no stop so hits front door, if you don't catch it. Fine once but all night long for people that forget, not good. Beds that have castors for feet. Great, but not on laminate floor..

great hotel ,great location,staff friendly and very helpful went out of the way to accomadate requests, would highly recommend this hotel.

Very modern if a bit stark. Good easy to find location. Expensive car park you must use. Staff trying hard to please and succeeding.Depressing music in the dark dining room the only thing they could improve. Good effort overall.

Great hotel in excellent location. I have marked down 1 point due to having to pay for car parking. The rooms are a good size with a nice hot shower and very large bed!

I was a little disappointed as the hotel is very basic. Laminate floors in the bedroom make it feel quite cold, but I guess you get what you pay for ! The staff however were FANTASTIC.

Brilliant hotel, brilliant service. There was a problem with one of the taps in our bathroom & as soon as we reported the fault they had called someone out to fix it immediately. Staff were friendly and helpful and the room was lovely. Will definitely stay there next time i'm in the area.

This was a lovely hotel. However, I upgraded to a king size bed but this was simply two beds pushed together and didn't stay together! The bed was extremely comfortable and very spacious. Staff were attentive, efficient and friendly. It is quite a walk to the town centre but it is a lovely walk. Very clean and tidy hotel. Lovely hot shower. Would stay again.

I have stayed there before and would do so again. Just be aware that whilst the bus service into the centre of Newcastle is very frequent and only costs £1.25 each way, it does not run all night so alternative means of returning to Gateshead would have to be sought. Overall though, a good hotel at a good price for Newcastle.

As far as budget hotels go, this one is pretty decent. Definitely more a place to stay when in the area on business than somewhere to treat your partner, the Encore is functional, modern, well equipped and clean. I don't think it's trying to be any more or any less, and that's fine as long as the prices stay around the budget rate that we paid. I would have no problem recommending this place and would stay there again.

Very clean & comfortable with friendly, helpful staff. Directions were not too clear & I don't think you should have to pay to use car park. Other than that, our stay was excellent & ideally located for the Sage. Within ten minutes of act leaving stage, we were in our hotel room!

This hotel is well worth staying in, close to transport and amenities

Hotel modern and fresh but our room was very stuffy. Windows very small which would only open very slightly and no air-con. Cleaners not the best, often only leaving one towel or no hand towels and not cleaning the crockery. Another big shame is that they didn't speak English and having a new hotel providing new work opportunities for the North East, it is a shame that this hotel did not utilise the local workforce. The extra charge for using hotel car park is not appropriate either.

I asked for a vodka and orange (screwdriver).The woman bartender put in a thimble ffull of vodka! and then charged me 2.50 sterling for the drink.Highway robbery!!!

nice room, spacious, clean and peaceful, staff were pleasant but the burger served to me and my colleague was a disgrace, it must have been sitting for hours and then stuck in the microwave, i actually couldn't cut through it with a knife so biting through it was out of the question!! Hotel is situated in more of an industrial estate, it was like a ghost town although it was only a 20 min walk to newcastle quayside. To be honest, don't think i would book again
