Hotel is being updated over time and the room needs it, but was still sufficient. Having stream running out your back door is wonderful. Maids were great as were the service desk individuals. Grounds are very well kept.

We opted for the deluxe room: The pillowtop queen beds were extremely comfortable! We had a fireplace, microwave/coffee maker/, + place to eat with bar stools, sitting area. Bathroom had a jacuzzi tub, needs little updating. The view from the balcony was beautiful, we could hear the river, and the birds. Location of the hotel is good (try Geno's Pizza, next door). Across the street is a flapjack restaurant + more. There is a off-road vehicle rental close by, it's about 3/4 of a mile to the north of downtown Gatlingburg, so if you're a walker, that's not too far - especially in the cooler fall months. The pool was very clean, and there's a nice slide for the kids. The only downside I can find (if you're very picky) was the little building by the pool, where there are two small restrooms. Those were dirty, buggy, and no toilet tissue to be found. Breakfast is so-so..biscuits and gravy, cereals, bagels, english muffins, orange juice, milk, breakfast 'casserole', coffee, and a display with apples/oranges. So if you are very health-conscience bring your own breakfast ;) And, the breakfast room is VERY small, not much space to turn around, and you really are bumping into everyone else. At first I thought it was a storage room (looking at the doors) and didn't realize it was the breakfast area lol But, for free breakfast, it's not bad at all. Very CLEAN hotel, we will stay at Brookside again!

This hotel was in a major need for an update. The shower was made for people under 4ft tall, the water pressure sucked, and the water temperature couldn't decide whether it wanted to stay hot or cold. My room was a "pet friendly" room and smelled of an old dirty dog. The only thing that was nice about this stay was the stream behind the hotel that I could enjoy from my balcony, everything else was way below expectation. I recommed spending a little more for a better stay somewhere else.

I was very surprised at the room I was given. It was very large and clean and the view was wonderful. I would highly recommend this hotel. Its only a short distance from the strip and walkable although its uphill coming back .

The view from the balcony was relaxing. Breakfast was good but the room where breakfast was served was extremely warm and too small for the number of guests trying to eat. The room was outdated needs new carpeting, new beds (very uncomfortable) and bathrooms clean but outdated. The shower head was so low my 6' tall husband had to duck under it.

The back area is a large creek with a waterfall near the street. It blocks a lot of noise I would imagaine but leaves a bit of that musty scent in the room. Very enjoyable to sit out there and read though!

This is more for Hotels.com than Brookside. There is an extra fee of $10 a day for pets that was not mentioned on Hotels.com through whom we made our reservation. Management did not charge us this fee, however. Also there were some issues but management and personnel were very cooperative and quickly solved the problems. Great breakfast included with your stay. I enjoyed the exercise room and we enjoyed the balcony right over a bubbling brook. (They need to replace the mattresses. They were uncomfortable and old.) Overall, for the price, we felt it was a good value.

An older hotel that is well maintained and is very nice. Pretty mountain stream right behind the hotel. Convenient to walk to Gatlinburg. Will stay here again.

brookside was the draw

The pictures you had of the rooms were not accurate and due to that I asked for a more expensive room with features we did not want. The room had features that were not shown which would have let me know that I did not want that room. We have stayed at this hotel for many years and the picture shown was of the rooms we have had in the past. We talked to the registration person and changed to the area that we wanted. We were given fast and courteous service. However, due to booking through Hotel.com we were charged for the more expensive room even though we moved. We had a very comfortable stay. The only problem was a bottom sheet that popped off the mattress each night. There are sheets that fit the mattress available.

Overall it was a pleasent stay. disapointed that the pool wasn't open as everyday was suitable for swimming. The free breakfast is a good idea but wish that it started earlier for those of us who had to be up and out before 8:00 AM.

i canceled my reservation 5 minutes after arrival. this hotel ia absolutly wrong place to stay in..

Wasn't what I expected, looks a lot different from the photos. Bathroom was super tiny! 2 adults, 2 kids stayed, not a whole lot of room. Overall wasn't terrible, but needs to be updated. Wallpaper peeling, carpets need cleaning, etc.

Well the service was okay, but the hotel had an odor, ended up getting a different room and although it was better, I still wouldn't reccomend this place.

I loved the fact that it was right in gatlinburg but there were alot of better choices in the area. very outdated and the smell of the room in general was not great. I suggest somewhere else.

I will certainly try to stay at Brookside on our next visit to Gatlinburg. The stream is most enjoyable and relaxing. If exercise is your thing which is important to me, you can certainly get a cardiac workout no matter which direction that you go. And you location is ideal for walking to the main drag for sight seeing.

My boyfriend and I absolutely loved this hotel and keep telling everyone how wonderful everything was. It was clean and beautiful. The service was great, the maids were there everyday, the office workers were helpful when we had questions and made us feel at home. It was nice that it wasn't on the main road and it was very quiet. The only thing we were sad about was that it was a lot more walking than we were hoping to get up and down the hill to get to the main drag. But the trolley did come in handy (which is just right out front of the office.) The breakfast is the same every morning which got boring but flapjacks is just across the street. But overall, we were very happy and will stay there again.

We loved it! Fireplace in the room and balcony over the creek. What more could you ask for? Excellent location can easily walk to downtown gatlinburg.

Bathroom fixtures and flooring were very old and cracking. Sheets and blankets looked very worn.

the room was nice and we loved the fireplace in the room and the balcony overlooking the water. staff was friendly. only negative was they ran out of milk and juice at the breakfast so there was food but nothing to drink BOTH MORNINGS so I guess they only keep 1 gallon of each so if you don't get there early, your out of luck!

We had a great time. The room was perfect for us. Wish we could of stayed longer. The only thing we found wrong was the water pressure in the bathroom was too low and the door was sticking.

I really loved the view of the creek out of the backdoor but the rooms do need to be rennovated. Overall the Hotel was clean, the rooms were nice and cozy and even had a fireplace which was really nice but the weather was too warm to use it. It was convenient to surrounding areas, so we didn't have to travel far for entertainment.

The rooms are awesome! We loved the fireplace and the balcony over looking the creek. The staff is so sweet and so nice. I can't wait to go back!

This hotel needs some MAJOR updating and cleaning. Our room had stains on the carpet and crumbs/skittles on the flloor beside the bed so it obviously was not swept properly. The beds were old, tv was a little 27" (haven't seen one of those in years) and the tv stand, table, etc. were all tattered and looked like they took a beating. We will NEVER stay at this resort again, nor do we recommend it to anyone!

The staff was friendly and the location was okay. The negatives were the dated rooms the rooms smelled old and were in need of serious renovations. The pictures online do not give an accurate representation of the room. This is like a 1 or 2 star motel.

Lovely place with many amenities...nice breakfast...clean room...very hot water...comfortable beds....plenty of heat...very large room... only small critcism is that the room was so large that there could have been a slightly larger TV for easier viewing. Otherwise, there was many channels from which to choose....

Hotel was very beautiful. The staff was very friendly and helpful. Everything was clean. The sound of water behind the hotel off the balcony was very relaxing. I enjoyed my stay. The only thing that concerned me was I did not realize there was a fireplace in my room. Because prior people had made a fire in the fireplace the room smelled of smoke. I realize this smell is not going to go away when there has been burning wood. But the smell was not appealing.

Everything was great but it was a little farther away from downtown than I expected.

Was very disappointed! Not at all what we expected according to description given on internet!!!! Will not be staying there again....(TV WAS VERY SMALL, THE CARPET WAS FILTHY, THE BEDS WERE TOO SOFT)BAD EXPERIENCE OVER ALL----------

We only stayed one night because the accommodations were terrible. The carpet was so badly soiled I was afraid to walk on it with my bare feet. The TV was so small we couldn't see it from our beds. The room was so dark and dingy it gave me the creeps (think Bates Motel). The pictures on their website were very deceiving and for the price it was not up to standard.

The Creek was beautiful, and the hotel was within walking distance (or almost) to Gatlinburg main street. Front desk people were very friendly. The biggest problem is that the elevator was not in optimal working order, and the doors closed with a Very disconcerting BANG every time. No other problems with elevator. Even though it didn't sound safe, we were never left stranded! ;-) Also, room service only came to our room two times during our 5 day stay there, and one of those times was because we requested it. Rooms were overall pretty old, and furnishings old/outdated, but overall pretty comfortable, and clean. The Creekside balcony was very worth any negatives of the room!!!! Awesome relaxation!

we wanted to be off the beaten path which we were. The room was ok, real dark inside, had a balcony and brook outside down below. Could have been more updated overall in and out. The elevator was in bad need of Repair, assistance or all! The doors would close like a gilliten and then bounce apart and close and make some noises. Beware don't put your hand in there to hold the door. Overall it was ok

we loved being in Gatlinburg,Tenn.,,i will stay again,,and i'll will let friends know that your hotel is a great place for familys..

Very old and needs a serious update. Didn't look like the picture online. The room smelled, the room had very little light and was very dark, the refrigerator was froze up and wouldn't keep anything cold. The so-called breakfast was a horrible joke. Would not stay there again or recommend it.

my family loved our visit!! it was a pleasure to stay at your hotel,i will stay there again!!

Just need to upgrade the tv's. Also the tub could be a little bigger.

We enjoyed the hotel because it was located by a creek. It was very relaxing. The people at the front desk were very helpful.

Excellent location, clean and comfortable room. Great price. Enjoyed sitting on the deck and listening to the creek. Left our window open all night, so relaxing. Elevator smelled like cigarette smoke. Could use some updating but other than that no complaints. Would stay again.

Hotel is out-dated, but very well maintained. Very spacious room had a fireplace with balcony overlooking brook. We could hear the brook even with the door and window closed. Good breakfast, including biscuits and gravy, egg casserole, bagels and cereal. A bit of a hike down to the main strip in Gatlinburg, but nothing too hateful, maybe the equivalent of 3 blocks. It is a up hill walk back. I think you may be able to take the trolley, but we just walked it. Playground and pool with water slides looked nice for kids.
