Excellent service, high standard, very helpful staff, central, clean - generally tip top! Highly recommended. The only disappointment was perhaps the breakfast tray, which we didn't realise we were going to have - we thought we would eat in a small restaurant. But, when that is said, it was very nice and lots to choose from (perhaps one yogurt/person, though, rather than one to share, if anything is to be commented on). Kristian, the German in reception, was most helpful, and wouldn't leave his shift before we got safely on our airport bus. Wow, some people are so amazing! Big smilies from us for a wonderful stay at the hotel :)))

After a weekend of travelling around the South West, this residence was our last stay in the capital. We were looking forward to a comfortable and well furnished hotel. We all wowed the minute we got in ! We were faced by this unexpected luxurious, sleek entrance hall and furthermore impressed by the size and furnishing details of our bedrooms. Top floor room was to my say, truly stunning. . will definitely recommend it to friends.

We found the staff to be very helpful, the location very good, the room large and comfortable, the street quiet at night and the drapes room darkening. Breakfast was just cereal, milk and OJ in the room but that was fine by us. Parking was free as was wifi. Overall great value for the price

Great hotel, super clean, great location, decent parking, cleaned daily, just all round really good, very nice hotel - would definitely recommend to anyone going to Reykjavik!!!

Fabulous suite accommodation! Recently opened so all amenities new and clean. Spacious apartment with wonderful view of the sea and mountains. Staff move between the hotel and suite buildings(owned by the same company) but are there when needed and are extremely helpful. People in Reykjavik have a high level of fluency in English and are interesting to talk to. Location excellent for restaurants, shopping, walking around. Would highly recommend.

Couldn't of asked for anything g better! Rooms were amazing equipped with everything you need, small kitchen area, flat screen tv with English channels, iPod doc, very modern bathroom and shower was great and well worth getting breakfast which was delivered every morning in a basket! Stayed in two other places in iceland and this was by far the best! Location was great in the city centre, doesn't get any noise from the streets would highly recommend for couples families etc!

Much to see at walking distance. Good service. We stayed during the week, there was no noise. Breakfast is already in your room the day before, so if you have a plain to catch early in the morning the next day, you can take your breakfast with you. Rooms are very clean and modern furnished. Very spacious bathroom. I would stay here again.

Lovely room with tiny kitchenette, very comfortable bed and a good-sized TV. A wooden spoon and spatula would have been useful though as kitchen utensils were on the basic side. Staff were charming, helpful and friendly, although one person on the desk had trouble booking a local restaurant by phone so we ended up doing it ourselves in the end.

Highly recommended hotel. Helpful pleasant staff and modern comfortable rooms.

The Reykjavik Residence is a lovely building, both from the outside and inside. We stayed for 3 nights in one of the rooms on the top floor - views over harbour were stunning. So was the standard of accommodation; luxurious, contemporary and clean. We especially liked the breakfast basket in the morning - a selection of breads, cheeses, meats, eggs and cereals too. The people at the front desk were always courteous, polite and helpful, especially on Easter Sunday (our first night) where they recommended a place to eat as most were shut. 5 minutes walk to the harbour, cathedral and lovely restaurants so location superb too. If (when!) we return to Reykjavik we'll be back here like a flash... outstanding.

I arrived very early in the morning and was greated warmly by staff and told they could arrange an early check in. They gave me directions to a nearby cafe for breakfast and upon return I was able to check in. The rooms are very comfortable and modern with a full kitchen. This is great because it is a little pricy for meals in Iceland so it's nice to at least have breakfast or cook your own meal in. They provide a fabulous arrangement on breads, meats, cheeses, cereal and yogurt so there is really no need to eat breakfast out. The staff at the hotel was helpful and friendly. Really had a great experience of apartment living in the city. Would highly recommend this hotel.

The "hotel" was more like an apartment; huge living room, 2 bedroom, kitche, bathroom with washer/dryer. Very relaxing, couch, beverages and snacks available. Walking distance to waterfront and walking street with tons of quaint shops and restaurants.

Excellent location. Newly renovated. Comfortable room to sleep our three gown family members. Breakfast served in room ...cereal, cheeses, ham, hard boiled eggs.

The Reykjavik Residence has the appearance of having been recently refurbished. Everything is immaculate. The room we stayed in (self-catering) was large and well equipped. Service was good and the location is very convenient for the centre of town. Parking was free which is a bonus: spaces are limited so I can imagine you may not be able to rely on it during high season. Free wi-fi was also available. For the price, it is hard to fault.

We really enjoyed staying at the Reykjavik Residence hotel as it had a small kitchen attached. They provided coffee, cereal, salt and pepper...the basics. There is a grocery store within walking distance and so we bought food there for breakfast, to make a sack lunch and to have items to cook for dinner. This saved us quite a bit of money as we could choose when we wanted to go out to eat. They also did our laundry as well which we really appreciated. Its location is about a block from the main shopping street and a couple of blocks from the city center area. We walked everywhere. We would definitely stay here again!!

Upon arriving at the hotel, we were informed that our room was at the Reykjavik Residence "Suites" which is about a 3 minute walk from the Reykjavik Residence Hotel. Our flight got in really early and they let us leave our bags at the front desk until check in time. The Suites is at a converted house that had opened just the week before. It was noticeable upon entering the house. There was still construction going on and our rooms were not fully stocked. The tv in the bedroom had not yet been installed and perhaps some kitchen supplies were missing. I think the staff there were also trying to get adjusted as they had some trouble finding things. They also worked on our shower while we were out and asked us to wait to use it, but provided us with a complementary bottle of wine for the inconvenience. Overall, the suite was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again. It was within walking distance to the major attractions in downtown Reykjavik. A note of caution would be that the hotel is across the street from a bar and it can get quite noisy on Friday and Saturday night, but the rest of the week was pretty quiet at night. Staff was overall friendly and helpful. After all the renovations and other misc things are settled, the hotel would be even better.

We had a great four night stay in this hotel at a fantastic price through a winter discount on hotels.com. Hotel is in a fantastic location 2 mins to sea front and a few mins to main shopping and bars. I would recommend the breakfast option which was excellent for a continental style breakfast. This included cornflakes, hard boiled eggs, variety of breads, cheese and jam/marmalade placed in your fridge each day. Milk, Juice, teabags, filtered coffee also provided in your room. Well equipped kitchenette which allows a fantastic relaxed start to each morning. This is really an Apartotel rather than a hotel though it did have an excellent 24 hour reception with very helpful staff who will phone and book anything for you. Fantastic alternative to a full-service hotel. We booked 3 Superior rooms which were very spacious and were located at the front of the main hotel building. The only small niggle was the amount of noise over the Saturday night from traffic and people visiting a club opposite which can't be controlled by the hotel. There was another separate block of rooms belonging to this hotel on the small road at the back of the hotel - not sure if this is where the standard rooms are located but they would be quieter. Would def recommend this hotel to anyone who likes the self-catering hotel style. Brilliant!

This hotel was exactly what we were looking for: quaint, quiet neighborhood, close but not too close to everything (it's a block away from the main shopping street and 3 or so blocks up from the ocean), clean and spacious rooms, and great service.

We just returned from Reykjavik following a fantastic stay at the Residence hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful dealing with all our enquiries and helping us arrange our excursions and travel back to the airport. The room was large and clean with very efficient daily room service which never interrupted a day you were having a lie in after a late night trip to see the Northern lights! We had breakfast included in the price of our stay and were really pleased with the selection of breads, cheeses, and jams delivered to our room and placed in the fridge to be enjoyed at our leisure the following morning a fantastic idea that meant we did not need to work our days around when a breakfast buffet was open. I can not speak highly enough of this hotel we had an amazing holiday and this was thanks in large part to service we received here.

Overall this was a good place to stay in Reykjavik, and we would definitely stay again. We would recommend putting a hook on the bathroom door as well as something to hold soap while taking a shower.

Located just one block from the main strip and tour locations. Very modern, clean, with friendly staff. Will definitely stay here again when I get a chance to go back!

Excellent service, quiet hotel, close to city center, spacious room for European standards. We really enjoyed all the employees and appreciated their helpfulness. Some minor maintenance issues were resolved. We stayed there ten nights total, and our room started to feel like a second home.

Great place. Lovely to have your own coffee maker and stove for breakfast. Happily stayed here several times over our trip.

Stayed from Friday to Monday in May 2013. Wow is the word. Clean, good breakfast, quiet excelent service, would defenetly stay again. It was just wow :-)

Hotellet som er avbildet er ikke det samme som det vi bodde på. Hotellet består av 3 ulike hus med leiligheter av ulike størrelser. Vi bodde i en 3 roms leilighet i 1 etg av en 2 etg bygning. Det var en gate med noe trafikk som gikk forbi og om kvelden måtte man trekke ned alle gardiner for at de som gikk forbi på fortauet ikke skulle kunne se inn. Nabolaget var også litt blandet. Det var en barnehage på dem ene siden av bygget og noen gamle litt slitte boliger på baksiden, noe som gav det hele et bakgårdspreg. Når det er sagt var leiligheten stor, ren og svært hyggelig. Vi hadde frokost på rommet, som fungerte veldig bra. Leiligheten ligger i veldig kort avstand fra sentrum noe som var veldig praktisk da vi reiste med 3 barn.

Nice hotel with excellent location. I was upgraded to the suite that King Christian X stayed in when he visited Iceland in 1928, but now it´s top modern with nice kitchen, bath room and beds. The upgrading was probably to save personell for the breakfast room, as the breakfast was already supplied in the refrigerator, and that was very basic with dry bread and stone hard camembert cheese.

Skulle berre hatt minst eit døgn til for å utforske meir av det Island har å by på av severdigheter. Imøtekommende betjening, artig med å få servert frukostbrett, tok også oppvasken (overraskende positivt), veldig sentralt ifh til spisesteder, butikker og andre ting du gjerne vil ha ved slike opphold. Ordna ut med gratis parkering rett over gata i parkeringshus. Gratis internett. Ikkje støy. Alle tiders opphold for en relativt lav pris!

Flott hotell til en meget god pris, rent og pent og hyggelig betjening. Selv frokosten servert på brett kvelden før i kjøleskap var bra. Sentralt beliggende i centrum. Vi bodde der påsken 2013 og skal vi tilbake til Island så blir det til dette hotellet !!!

Nyligt renoveret. Meget lækkert og indbydende sammenholdt med perfekt placering ift. alle centrale seværdigheder i Reykjavik. Gratis parkering i P-huset overfor.

Vi var på 1 ukes ferie i reykjavik og valgte hotellet fordi hotellet lå som nr 1 på trip advisor. Og jeg vil absolutt si det sto til forventningene. Servicen var upåklagelig hele uken, vi fikk hjelp til bord reservasjoner og tips til utflukter, ting og se/gjøre. Alle var veldig hyggelige og behjelpelige:) Rommet hadde en stor god seng, som var deilig og varme seg i etter mange timer på isbreer og vulkaner. Frokosten blir servert i kjøleskapet dagen før, og hadde så mye godt at vi tok det gjerne med på utfluktene på dagtid. Så vi hadde nok til både frokost og lunsj. Beliggenheten er super for de som vil ha det rolig rundt seg, men samtidig ha kort vei til sentrum. Vi brukte ca 5 minutter og gå ned til sentrum. Shopping-street er gaten som følger hverfisgata parallellt hele veien. Så det var kun få minutter til både shopping, resturanter og andre fornøyelser. Vi kommer helt klart til å bo her neste gang vi kommer til Reykjavik. Vi har også tipset kjente om dette lille koslige hotellet som virkelig gir deg en hjemmefølelse:) Takk for oss. H&S Norge

Bodde 5 netter på hotelet. Veldig bra så jeg kan anbefale dette på det sterkeste.

Frábært hótel í alla staði.

Bra läge, centralt och nära till allt. Vi fick ett fint, nyrenoverat rum men det låg på en bakgård med en väldigt sunkig trappuppgång. Men rummet var som sagt väldigt fint! Vi hade en brandvarnare som pep väldigt högt pga dåliga batterier, bad personalen att åtgärda detta vilket de inte gjorde. Annars mycket nöjda!
