Very nice hotel but the room was way overpriced for its size. Tiny...tiny room with absolutely no space for even a toiletry bag on the bathroom counter and very poor lighting in the bathroom as well. There are no iron and ironing boards (because the hotel is so called green) which was a nightmare, I was late for a dinner reservation because the in-room steamer that they provide in each room was not ideal at all. Didn't like the automatic food and beverage charge of $15 per day which was a use it or loose it charge, a complete rip-off; a way for the hotel to get more money out of you. Plan and simple this charge forces you to use the bar or restaurant on property both of which are way overpriced for what you get and I'm from NYC. Plan and simple, find a better deal at another hotel if you can

Beautiful hotel. Terrible and I mean terrible staff.

We were shocked when we arrived that there was an additional daily $25.00 resort fee charge not quoted by hotels.com during booking. The hotel is close to everything but not beach side. Luckily we had access to the Shelborne hotel beach and pool so this was ok (if you like to cross the street and walk a little). The room was quite small without too much space for personal things....had to use floor. Overall, the hotel is very nice looking, clean and offers a friendly staff. The restaurant was very good although it was closed 1 nite for a personal party. We were very disappointed..had planned a romantic dinner the day before. Will not stay here again.

It was a great location close to shopping and the beach. A perfect last minute booking.

I loved my stay, excellent location, beautiful hotel decor, nice and comfortable room. Some hotel staff was very nice, others were rude.

We booked a room with two queen beds. Not a honeymoon type arrangement, so we found very uncomfortable that the shower area was open to the room with clear doors. Also, the mirror in the shower area had two clear panels on either side of it that made the area visible to where the beds are placed. Not any privacy when showering. That would cause me not to book this again. Also, the hallways are not carpeted and the noise from people on the halls was very loud. It is lovely and I'm sure people who like this kind of thing will be quite pleased. It was not to our taste.

This is overall a lovely hotel in a very good location. The big drawback is the size of the room. The bed was against the window and accessible only from one side (very inconvenient for 2 people sharing) and there was absolutely no place other than the floor for luggage. There was only a very small closet with no drawer space. More creativity in design could have made better use of the space available.

This hotel has been renovated and furnished beautifully, and it really shows in the public areas and restaurants. However, signature rooms are tiny (smaller than any NYC hotel room I've ever stayed in), and lack even a full-sized closet. If you're staying for more than a night, you'll need to request extra clothes racks which will occupy whatever extra floor space there is. Bathrooms lack doors (the, albeit beautiful, glass and marble showers are visible from the entryway). Service was poor for a hotel of this caliber - housekeeping obviously did not vacuum the floors, the hotel restaurants were unaware of promotions being offered by the front desk and were rude and unpleasant when asked about them. Would not stay here again.

My shower knob came off so i had ti take a scalding hot shower (i called to switch rooms but nobody answered at the front desk), I asked for a robe and was called numerous times telling me "there is one in the room" when there wasn't, and the room service number wouldn't work. Definitely not a relaxing stay. The location was great though but I would not stay here again.

Considering the room rate was over $500/night we had expected something lager than a monk's cell. Was also not pleased to find on arrival that the hotel imposed an additional $25/night resort fee that was not part of the of the Hotel.com charge. We would not go back.

Pros: Common areas were nicely decorated and comfortable. Nice rooftop pool (not quite as big as pictures suggest but it never is!) and great pool staff. Friendly and helpful front desk staff. Location is perfect. Cons: while the bed was comfortable my signature room was even smaller than anticipated and I really never wanted to be in the room. Layout was a bit awkward. Restaurant food was OK, but nothing special. Waited two mornings to get service in the restaurant for breakfast before giving up and trying elsewhere.

the room was so small there was no room for droor's no room for a closet!? they offered to bring a rolling rack i have no idea were they would put it but it didnt matter they never brought it. i fyou dont bring clothing or suitcases then you can fit in the room

Exceptional staff who went above and beyond customer service to ensure a pleasant stay. We had a fantastic time from the time we entered the hotel we were greeted by by The bell boy Andreas who assisted us with our luggage and stored them as we were too early to check in. The hotel was situated in a great location wherein it was walking distance to everything! Thanks for making our stay at the Gale very memorable we will definitely be back!

This location was in the center of everything!! A two mins walk from the beach :) Hotel food menu was a little limited especially for breakfast, dinner was not too bad

Beautifully modernized boutique hotel. Recalls the roaring 20's while providing modern amenities - big screen TV, internet, great shower. Some of the rooms have no view at all so if that is important to you, be sure to find out what type of room you ae getting. Rooftop pool is amazing and you are in the beautiful art deco area.

It's a beautifully decorated boutique hotel, room was clean and the bed was dreamy. I loved the restaurant in the hotel and the location is amazing right across the street from the beach. They just opened so hurry before the secret gets out!

Nice hotel but awake with pounding music until 3 am the first night and 5 am the second night because they have a nightclub in lower level. They need to decide to either be a hotel or nightclub. Would not return because of this!

The rooms were very small. Hardly enough space for two beds and two people. At the time I checked in the hotel had no room service. Bar looked great, really cool to hang out in.

Brand new hotel....clean rooms. Great location. Rooftop bar wasn't open yet.

This is a brand new hotel; just opened in December, 2012. It is very well decorated using high quality finishes with a highly sophisticated design. The least expensive room is very small. However the public spaces are beautiful. Roof-top pool and bar with great views. As a note of caution, they do operate a club in their lower level. Be sure to stay away from nearby rooms due to noise. Otherwise, very highly recommended.

The hotel is clean and has been updated. Parking is not included, but there is a lot behind the hotel where you can park for $25 per day. $15 of the $25 service fee can be used for breakfast. Somehow they charged us for the breakfast, but agreed to make an adjustment. Check your charges upon leaving to avoid a mistake like that. The hotel is close to everything and is within walking distance of Lincoln Rd.

Checked in on Tuesday the 15th of Jan for a single night. While checking in I was informed of a mandatory $25/day "resort fee". I've paid resort fees before, but $25 is on the high end. I had expected no resort fee given its distance from Ocean Drive and the fact that it is a pretty nice hotel overall. As with most Miami Beach hotels, the rate you pay online is NOT the rate you will pay in the end. That being said, the rooms are pretty nice. Nicely decorated, big TV, comfy bed, etc. Only problem with the room was that the handle in the shower was broken. It took fifteen minutes to figure out how to get it to the right temperature. Before booking, make sure you tack on the additional $25-$60 ($35 valet with no easy alternative options) in your head to get the real cost of your stay. The Gale is worth it for a night out, but if you're looking for a Miami-on-the-beach vacation save up a bit more money and go somewhere comparable on the water.

the beds were comfortable but the service was slow or not at all. the rooms are extremely small with no real closet space, no chair or desk. The restaurant is very slow and not organized. The location is good. It is overpriced for what you get.

If you like to stay at newly renovated hotels this one is for you!

I stayed at this hotel for 5 days. Where do begin, this hotel and their staff have exceeded my expectation. Small hotel but very clean, amazing staff, great location love the roof top pool. The hotel room decor is just stunning. I will def be back to this hotel!!!!

Gale is a centrally located hotel close to the beach (but not on the beach) and close to the the very popular Lincoln rd. The hotel is small, but very clean and has got a nice design. Rooms are small (signature) which shows after the end of the stay (when you fill it up with all the shooping). But they have a very nice finish and are well designed. Very good service and nice personnel. Only problem was the noise from the club in the basement. Hard to sleep. Overall a good experience!

Hotellet var veldig bra men prisene i baren var litt høy. Frokosten som jeg spiste en gang var ikke noe spesielt, dyr men ikke noe å bli husket for. Rommet var rent og fint men litt lite. Nesten for lite for en person. Veldig vennlig staff. Kan vel ikke få bedre beliggenhet mot strand og Lincoln Road.

O hotel poderia ser otimo,porem parece que falta ser concluido,a cama de casal é mínima,só tem uma mesa de cabeceira , por sinal a única prateleira do quarto,falllttaaa armarios chega a ser ridiculo.Agora o hotel é lindo,recem reformado,a localização é otima,etc .Na bela piscina o barman aparece por 5min a cada hora e demora mais uma para servir. Porem o que mata é a balada no andar terreo com musica eletronica (bate estaca) até as 5:00 horas da manhã .

Vi ankom Gale etter etter en uke på et fantastisk cruice, snakk om nedtur!!! Vi kom til hotellet tidlig på formiddagen og fikk sjekket inn men ikke noe rom, det er helt ok når vi var såpass tidlig på dagen. Hotellet i seg selv var fresht og nyoppusset, takterrassen var helt fantastisk! Når vi kom tilbake senere for å få rommet vårt kom sjokket. Vi ble da tildelt et rom i 2. etg. uten vindu, det var fryktelig trangt og en helt merkelig badeløsnng..... jeg gikk ned i resepsjonen og klagde over dette og sa at vi i det minste forventet et vindu på rommet. En sur resepsjonist flyttet oss til et annet rom uten å si et ord.... Dette var en ekstra etg. opp. Når natten kom og vi skulle legge oss var det full fest i nattklubben i kjelleretasjen, dette holdt på til kl 05 på morgenen. Vi er glade i fest men når man ligger i 3. etasje og rister i senga pga. bassen er det ikke så kult lenger. Beliggenhet var bra men jeg vil nok ikke anbefale dette til noen av våre venner siden det var fryktelig mye bråk og utrivelig personale i resepsjonen!

Eit stilig og smakfullt hotell med god mat og strålende bartendere. Natten vart forøvrig sabotert av hotellets nattklubb som var lokalisert 2 meter unna vår uisolerte dør. Me kunne like gjerne prøvd å sovet på pianospillerens fang. Utallige klager (frå fleire gjester) til resepsjonen førte heller ikkje fram. Dei var fullt klar over problemet, men kunne ikkje tilby anna enn øyreplugger og ei fattig trøst om at nattklubben stengde kl. 03:00. Kompensasjonen dagen derpå, var ein beklagelse og 25 dollar, avslag på overnattingen. Vil ikkje anbefale hotellet før dei har fått gjort noko med isoleringen mellom nattklubb og hotelfløy.

Hotel is nice. Breakfast was served very very slowly and was expencive but tasted good. For us was also negative suprise that there was only valet parking though in Hotels.com web site it was named free parking. Valet parking cost honey!

Hotellet är superfräscht med riktigt modern elegant känsla. Poolen är supersnygg och poolpersonalen uppmärksam. Personalen överlag var mycket trevlig. Hotellet är inte så stort, vilket gör att det känns mer personligt än ett större komplex. Ett minus var att restaurangen inte hade börjat servera lunch ännu, men det gjordes å andra sidan vid poolen. Maten höll hög kvalitet! Läget är perfekt, ett stenkast från både stranden och shoppingen. Vi var där på bröllopsresa och fick mousserande vin uppskickat till rummet utan extra kostnad, vilket var uppskattat. En nackdel är att hotellet inte har någon frukostbuffet. Eftersom hotellet var precis nyöppnat fanns ännu inga badrockar, vilket också var synd. Om vi kommer tillbaks till Miami kommer vi absolut att bo här igen!
