New hotel stands out as one of Newquay's best

Newquay Beach Hotel has recently benefited from an extensive revamp and this is reflected in the hotel's highj calibre facilities. All the staff were extremely friendly and keen to ensure every need was attended to. A lovely boutique hotel experience with superb cooked breakfasts one of the highlights in the sea view restaurant.

A disappointing experience

The room was small which I expected as..a solo. However I did not expect the cheap and very small desk and table (IKEA) Siting the wash basin over the toilet was stupid. There was no towel rail either. Not worthy of a 2 star hotel let alone any more

Mixed fortunes

We had a four day break for Easter. The hotel was near to the sea front on a corner location. We were surprised to pay for parking (£5 per day) as nothing was mentioned on the web browser or the hotel web page about this. There were 5 spaces in the front car park, 4-5 down the side of the hotel and three behind the hotel. We squeezed into one of rear spaces. I am somewhat peeved about the car park charge because all of the work to create the car park has been done so that the daily charge is pure profit. Also, we were told that we should have pre-booked to car park space. Again, no mention of this on the web sites. It's worthwhile to call the hotel and sort this out before your arrival. The hotesal iself was smart and exceptionally clean; the decor is glitzy if you like that sort of thing. The staff were welcoming and friendly throughout our stay. Our room was an L shape with the bed dominating the room and leaving a small corridor at the end of which was the wardrobe. Again, everything including the bathroom was clean and well maintained. However, there was a distinct shortage of shelves and reading lights were absent. Overall it was a bit cramped. We ate in the dining room on our first night. The food was beautiful albeit quite pricey but it was value for money. Breakfasts were excellent with plenty of choice for both a full English and continental options. There was a wedding held on one of the nights of our stay which was very noisy quietened down at about 11 pm. VFM.

Splendid

Bit put off initially as hotels.com stated 12pm check in, when we got there just after, they wanted to charge us an early check in fee as check in not until 3pm, but they waived it as hotel was quiet. Lovely hotel, great staff and food. A la carte breakfast included. Comfortable and well kept room. Definitely stay there again.

An excellent stopover

I was impressed by the warm welcome by the staff on duty. I had had a wretched journey to Newquay, but was looked after and fed so well that I soon cheered up. The room was clean and comfortable. The whole hotel has been totally modernised to an impressive degree
