Wonderful Stay, Quiet Neighborhood Near Downtown

The Ambassador was a great place to stay for a few days. The staff were all incredibly friendly, always greeting me as I came and went. The lobby/library area is very cozy, and the restaurant and bar were great. I had a delicious dinner one evening and the bartender was lovely. My room was spacious and clean, the bed was comfortable, and the neighborhood itself was very quiet. The Clark/Division red line stop was a very short distance away, and getting to other neighborhoods via train or foot was easy and convenient.

Rooms have a nice aesthetic. The bathroom needs a big of an update and a fan. Parking is way too much at 56$. It should be discounted for guests not inflated.

Overall, the hotel and services were very good. Small issues are that the bathroom door lock was a bit janky and difficult to fully close, and there were some rips on the covering of the couch in the suite. These issues were pretty minor, however. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Truly enjoyed our three night stay. Staff members were extremely helpful. Room updates were pleasing and the hotel was quiet and relaxing. Location was another plus and a number of restaurants were a very short walk. Called upon security to locate a forgotten item. No problem

Could be better, could be worse

Our rooms were decent enough, though drab. There is no way to heat water in the room (no coffeemaker or microwave). One room smelled strongly of air freshener. Common spaces are very cozy. Food purchased from the hotel was a letdown: espresso drinks were made with an instant-ish Nespresso maker, and the "yogurt and fruit" breakfast was plain Greek yogurt with a whole, unsliced apple and whole, unsliced, unpeeled orange on the side (perhaps COVID supply chain issues came into play). Housekeeping staff were friendly and the rooms were clean. You'll want to allow for parking costs: hotel valet parking was $58 per 24 hours period with in and out privileges; you can find somewhat cheaper valet options nearby but without in and out privileges, so you may or may not be able to save much.

Excellent Hotel - A hidden gem!

We were on a long road trip staying in 17 different hotels/motels & this was our favorite hotel. It was elegant but comfortable. The service was outstanding. The only improvement would be a coffee maker & perhaps microwave in the room. The staff was very accommodating. .

The front desk a super nice and the hotel and rooms are very clean. The reason why I gave this hotel a rating of 3-the wifi and TV kept going in and out. I come to Chicago one week a month for business and need wifi. The rooms desk was lower than the chair so I sat on the sofa taking my zoom call. Also I always look for a hotel that is quiet, I can hear my next door neighbor and slamming doors at night.
