Sea Bay Hotel

We booked last minute and this was one of the only hotels available. The reviews on here seemed ok, so we went with it. Check-in was easy. The building is old, which is fine, but it wasn't clean. The whole building smells musty, especially our room. We constantly smelled cigarettes and weed even though it's supposed to be a non-smoking hotel (which is not great when you have severe allergies like me). There was burn holes on our table (see pic). There was mold in the fridge (see pic) which makes me feel like they don't clean because even a clorox wipe would get rid of that. The toilet seat was broken. Beds were ok. Location is good except there's a sewage treatment plant nearby & you can smell it when by the pool. Disappointed we paid so much for this.

The view of the ocean & bay are the best thing I like of this convenient to rt.90 location. The air conditioning was excellent, however the shower fixtures & fans were a bit neglected In our rooms. TV & cable were great & the beds & pillows were comfortable, however, we were not contacted by housekeeping staff at all in our four day stay about replenishing our towels, nor did they ever clean our rooms - but I suppose the lack of cleaning services may have been Covid-19 related in this case for this special year. Had we called & requested service, I’m sure we’d have gotten it, but none was offered. Also no ice machines were operating in our building.

Room had clearly been sanitized before we arrived. No housekeeping services, but that was fine. It was difficult to find staff to replenish supplies, though, without walking over to the main building. Ice maker in our building was broken the entire time, also necessitating a walk to the other building. COVID responses were appropriate. THIN WALLS!

The room was clean. However, it was run down, cracks in the walls and ceiling. Grout and sealant in bathroom was nasty. Just a completely run down room. I would say a 2 star hotel. A complete renovation is needed.

For the price, we were a bit disappointed. The room was "clean" but could have been cleaner (like detail cleaning). The entry door downstairs did not fully close on its own, therefore the key card was unneeded and anyone could enter. The ice machine was not working and you had to go over to the Best Western to get ice. The check-in/front desk is in the Best Western. All staffed that we interacted with were excellent.

For the price you're paying a night you're better off staying somewhere closer to the boardwalk. My room had hair everywhere, beds, shower and opened used plastic utensils were left by the coffee machine. I should have done a walk through before unpacking and settling in but then again i shouldn't have to even do that, especially with the Corona Virus around. When this was brougbt up to the front desk they apologized and asked if we wanted someone to clean the room. We had already so and it shouldn't be offered after tbe fact someone checks in. Suoer disappointed...

The room smelled musty

The room felt and smelt wet. The hallways wreaked of smoke. I was able to switch room, but it was just as bad. I realized I had left a pillow the evening of checking out and when I called to ask about it I was placed on hold for over 8 minutes, I finally just hung up.

Bed is old....shower doesn’t drain..ac outflow air makes deck hot....cable tv is ok...not many channels no hbo/showtime...location is good...nice bay view...price was fair...hotel was fairly quiet at nite..pool is small but very useful....small fridge is ok...coffee maker is a joke.. I would stay again if price was right...
