The Westin Resort & Spa Cancun

The staff is friendly and nice, the place is huge and beautiful, the sea is perfect, but the rooms smell a bit musty. It was on the L floor, seemed old, I think they have newer rooms.

We arrived at the Westin and were bombarded by staff. I understand that there are precautions in place for COVID, but chastising a guest that first walks in the door is aggressive. I explained to the woman that i was a guest and that I had a reservation, but she was adamant that i follow her to the sign in desk immediately and fill out a COVid questionnaire, even though I was wearing a mask and in my own little corner of the lobby. After driving for hours, I’d like to have a second to breathe and relax. We parked outside before unpacking our bags and that was a problem too. I got the feeling that i was unwelcome in the lobby and that they did not actually believe i had a reservation and that i was staying at the resort. Eventually (after being asked the 4th time in 7 minutes) we had enough, booked another reservation and left. Horrible experience, from a resort I frequented in the past!

Stayed with my family for 2 nights before venturing down to Cozumel. The Westin was operating with a skeleton staff due to downturn because of Covid and it kind of shows. The 1st disappointment was being made to wait more than 2 hours to check-in to our room, when we arrived at 2pm. You would think that they would have a room available considering the hotel wasn't at capacity. We worn out from travelling, starving, and just wanted to check-in and hit the beach to sleep. We killed time at the grill eating and still our room wasn't ready. We saw folks arriving with luggage after us and checking in right away. Other than this, the beach is the real star at this resort. EXCELLENT beach. Great clear water and nice waves. The pools are very nice as well. The workers are trying their best and are cordial but you can tell they are stretched thin. A call to room service for ice (no ice machines in service) took more than 45 minutes each time.

Excellent stay

Enjoyed our stay, everyone was very nice, we have stayed at this Hotel twice and have had a great experience both times (Aug. 2019 & October 2020), hotel was clean, rooms were great, beds comfy. Concierge was very helpful.

From check in to dinner, this place aims to please!! We were upgraded on arrival, the concierge assisted with dinner reservations, and the room was gorgeous...complete with an amazing balcony. Everyone was cautious with protective wear abd spacing. We were only here fir 1 night as we cane early for our planned 10 day vacay and didnt check into our all inclusive until the next day.....we hope it can live up to our wonderful experience here!!!
