DoubleTree by Hilton London - Docklands Riverside

2 night stay. Can not fault anything about this hotel. Have stayed there several times now, always a pleasure.

Great hotel, good price and convenient location. Ferry trip to Canary Wharf gives it an extra point!

Staff were lovely. Food was lovely. The room temperature could not be adjusted, or the system was broken, either way we were cold. The room had no hand soap! We paid good money for the room, you'd expect the basics would be covered, especially at the moment. We had a very tight schedule so did not have much time to go chasing for any. Luckily we had our shower gel with us to use as soap. The room was okay but a little disappointing for the price. We were sold the room with free wifi, which was not true at all, you have to pay for wifi. Highly disappointed but again did not have any time to go fighting about it. We were charged a couple of pounds more than what the booking confirmation was. Unfortunately realised this only afterwards so decided not to kick up a fuss, though it is a bit irritating. The hotel is a bit basic and way too expensive for what you get. The location was good for what we needed.

All good except a blocked loo

Family of 5 for 7 nights: First night our room was so drafty the shower curtain was blowing, even though the windows were all shut. The sofa bed, when opened, was angled so the feet were above the head, so my kids flipped their pillows to the foot of the bed. Our room was switched for the remaining 6 nights. Hotels.com had laundry facilities listed, so we only packed for 4 days, intending to do our laundry halfway through. There are NO laundry facilities and the laundry service is outrageously priced. The bed the first night was amazing but for the rest of the week, it had springs that kept hurting my hips. I'm an averaged sized, middle aged woman and don't usually have a problem with sore hips from springs in a mattress. I'd never been so happy to sleep on my own bed as I was when I returned home. The second room was also drafty, but mainly in the bathroom. The heater had a really hard time keeping up and the room varied between chilly and cold the entire week. I had the heat set to 29 C, but I'm not sure it ever actually got above 19C.

Abismal. Check in and parking a nightmare. Toilet blockage and that wasnt only ours, other guest were complaining. Had to get someone to unblock it 1am in the morning. Windows were rattling all night and so much noise from residents at 3am in the morning

Room was a bit underwhelming for a ‘Junior Suite with Balcony’ - would have thought this would mean a separate living area but instead greeted by a sofa against a wall. TV nowhere near the sofa or bed, the bed was incredibly close to the door and quite uncomfortable, and the balcony was laughably small - just about wide enough for two people to stand shoulder to shoulder. Felt a little bit like the room had been oversold, however the view was fantastic.

Communication of desk staff poor little understanding of the English language Conversation and processes, service of bar staff poor due to errors made at check in desk. Breakfast good but staff not attentive for drinks, bit like look and find. Ferry service good but had used before so was aware how it worked .

Clean and tidy rooms friendly staff, didn't like to wait an hour and half to check in

On arrival staff were very welcoming and told us everything we needed to know. I I didn't We were a family of five in a spacious room overlooking the river and Canary Wharf.
