Great Hotel.

Lovely hotel situated in Funchal Old Town and close to the chair lift. Nice restaurants near by and short walk to the prom. Lovely helpful staff. Great breakfast buffet. Car park at back of hotel with no rear entrance so a short walk to hotel but not a problem. Highly recommended.

Great value for money and well located

Excellent choice. Well locate for old town, marina, cable car - all a short walk away. Good range of food at breakfast. Comfortable rooms, good shower.

Great hotel in the centre of Funchal

Nice hotel with great rooftop pool. Staff very friendly and helpful. Location is great, in the middle of Funchal and close to many restaurants and a good supermarket.

4-star level

Nice hotel with a rooftop pool/bar. Room is simply decorated (wood/golden) and very clean. Great location, good service. Breakfast was ok, coffee was disappointingly sweet and there were not much fresh selection, but we got what we needed and coronavirus measures were taken. They had a theme song that I'll never get out of my head. Would go again!

Brilliant choice

Beautiful, small modern hotel. In a perfect location for visiting the main attractions of the city as well as being close to public transport stops. So its possible to visit most of the island, use the hop on service and get a bus to the airport within a 5 minute walk from the hotel. Staff were wonderful and friendly. Breakfast was great with lots of food choices. Wifi reception good.

Important details lacking but overall good

Positives: Service was pretty good. Within minutes of booking I received an email from the hotel offering to book me a taxi from the airport. Check-in was pleasant and I received all the information about the hotel. Centrally located and you can tell they put a lot of effort into renovating the property lately. Breakfast was well-prepared, especially in the corona time. Mostly clean and comfortable. Nice shower with waterfall shower head and handheld Negatives: The hotel knew that I was there to do my quarantine while awaiting my test result. Having previously stayed at a hotel in Funchal that wouldn’t let me leave until I showed them proof of a negative test result, I was rather shocked that Hotel Turim does not do this. Hotels are one of the only places we have to control and ensure we keep our community safe. They should take on this gatekeeper role. Could hear the arrival music through the walls, which the hotel puts in each room. Hair found on bathroom walls Water leaking from a knob above toilet and onto the toilet bowl Water pipe in shower was shooting out water Brown stain on one of the towels Could see a gap with tile saw marks where the toilet flusher is installed Dirty smudge on ceiling in bathroom This is coming from someone that spent years in the hotel business that inspected many rooms so I see more than the average person. However, I would expect safety of the community and cleanliness of a room to be perfect at the moment. Missing fine details
