Red Roof Inn PLUS+ Mt Pleasant - Patriots Point

Location! being so close to patriots point, and 15 mins from downtown Charleston was the goal. Through no fault of red roof there is a dog day care center maybe 100 feet from the motel. Barking from early to late everyday. We had our dog and it really didnt bug us too much for the 2 days we stayed there, any longer of a stay and it probably would have been torture...

Area was a bit schetchy. People hanging out in the parking lot smoking pot in their car.

The toilet seat was bigger than the toilet! Scraped our legs every time we walked in the very small bathroom. Room was damp.

Check in was a breeze. We had requested a lower level room on parking lot side when making reservations. We received am email shortly thereafter stating that they would do their best to accommodate us, and they did. The desk clerk was very friendly and helpful when we arrived.You could tell she was swamped with calls and check-ins, but she handled all with efficiency and kindness. Not an easy thing to do, as I could tell from this side of the conversation that the caller kept asking stupid questions and would not let her go.

Only 2 outlets worked in the entire room to plug stuff in to charge. The AC unit did not cut off, even when turned off. We had to unplug it so it would stop blowing air and making very loud noises. Our carpet was gross. I took pictures if you like to see them. Our fire alarm was hanging out of the ceiling. Not sure it worked. Our neighbors were extremely loud. They started at 6am and we could hear them clearly thru the wall.

Would like to have seen more in room evidence of COVID preventive health measures. No mention of extra precautions Red Roof has taken to keep customers safe.

Not a bad spot to lay your head and enjoy a weekend in the Charleston area.

The tv was left on and the doo was open upon arrival. The front desk assured me it was a mistake. The next morning I realized there were no towels or face cloths. There was no coffee in room or at the desk. (Covid precautions?) The room was clean, the bed was comfortable.

not that clean ...

only issue hotel did not have a microwave or refrigerator that was the only issue.
