The Westin San Diego Downtown

I was there for one night. It was nice. I would stay there again.

We r a SPG member been coming to Westin for 10 years had made a reservation emailed the hotel asked them if it’s ok to come earlier then check in they emailed me back saying it was no problem got to the hotel on Halloween night the manager at the front desk a girl was so rude !!! She said if u want to check in early it $75 dollars and we can check u in otherwise all the rooms have to be cleaned and check in is at 1!!!! So she’s pocketing 75 dollars to give me a early check in !!! Absolutely no customer service at all! We cancelled the room and got a nice suite at a different hotel and checked in early with complimentary champagne.Beomg a manager at a hotel she needs to learn how to talk to people,so rude veryyyyy impolite..... I would give this hotel a ZERO star

The room was nice. There was a great city view with the bay in the distance. The staff were kind and helpful.

I never write a review about anything but I felt I needed to for my stay at the Westin San Diego Downtown. It truly was a great experience....so much so I extended my stay a night. Also, anything that can make you forget about the crisis we are in today, is special. The Westin did that for me. From the staff who were very helpful to the amenities (pool open, fitness center open and very clean and 2 Peleton's you could enter the hotel's Account number and password and take ANY class offered, free use of their bicycles, Bar was open and so was cafe) this was truly a fulfilling and relaxing stay for me. Also, I felt safe the entire time there. There was no valet (safe for you and for staff), a cleaning log in each elevator of when it was cleaned hourly, all the staff wore face coverings at all times, and maid service was not until after you checked out, but they would leave towels and toiletries outside your door (again safe for you and for the staff). My friend stayed at another hotel nearby downtown 2 weeks before my stay and he said the fitness center, bar, pool, and restaurant were all closed and he paid over $75 more per night than I did. Again, the Westin has embraced "the new normal" and they should be commended for it. I will definitely return there again very soon. I haven't been to San Diego in over 5 years and I forgot how much I loved the harbor city!! J. Stone

I liked that the gym was open 24/7. I did not like how the hotel room wasn’t clean. And I paid for a bay view but was put on the 9th floor. All the windows were super dirty couldn’t even take a picture of the view. And the view was the buildings no water. There was trash in the trash can and hair in the shower.

The hotel location was great, the view was great, the water pressure for the shower was really low, I didn’t like the fact that they kept half the deposit bc they need to raise money to be kept in business . But other then that you get A bike to use it was a really cool area by the beach. The view was great.
