Red Roof Inn Richmond South

The price was great, the room was clean, pet friendly, the person at check-in was very friendly, the comfort was okay. A bit dated and the room smelled like someone in the past had been smoking in there. A perfumed smell over smoke is still a smoky smell.

Checking in was professional and efficient but not particularly friendly. The hotel is very convenient to the Interstate. The room was clean. There is a McDonalds and a Subway within walking distance, but not much else in the way of food.

We usually have pleasant stays at other Red Roof Inns. We’re very disappointed with the cleanliness of this hotel. The first “non-smoking” room smelled strongly of fresh cigarette smoke. We immediately asked to be moved due to the smell and the second room also stank of cigarette smoke. The noxious air-freshener permeating the room did nothing to mask the smell, only making it worse. The bathroom was disgusting with nasty stuff smeared on the surfaces. I put TP on the toilet seat before using it, and I didn’t feel the bathroom was clean enough even to use the shower. I was nervous to sleep in the bed, but thankfully we brought our pillows and blankets. We stayed for two nights because I pre-paid for the room. (Lesson painfully learned.) We stayed at a much better hotel for the rest of our vacation. The clothes in our suitcases and our pillows & blankets still stank of stale cigarettes. I hope the smell comes out.

The staff...the great customer service..............

Staff was very friendly, but room smelled strongly of smoke when i entered. Bathroom was clean, the toilet was missing the correct top though. Overall was alright, minus the smell of smoke.

Mini refrigerator was leaking all over the floor. Told the front office, she did nothing. Toilet wouldn't flush, she did nothing. Finally, had to "ask" for another room. Terrible.

The hotel is really nice. But the pot smoke was everywhere. I went to tge second floor and someone was smoking pot he just looked at me and kept smoking. As i went up stairs to where my room was another gentleman was smoking pot outside his door, which was next to mine.

The room's and staff were amazing. The manager was nice and friendly.
