Red Roof Inn Charleston - Kanawha City, WV

The room was very clean and comfortable.

It was ok for the money

The room was full of roaches. We got there in the middle of the night exhausted after driving 14 hours. We were absolutely too tired to change the room but we needed to kill at least 9 roaches during our stay. I have stayed at Red Roof Inn in other states and absolutely enjoyed before this.

Location was perfect! Staff was courteous and friendly. Soap was waxy, could have been lots better and ice machine was more crushed ice than cubes. Pillows were wonderful!

We stayed at the Red roof because we were traveling with our dog. The room was ok, it was clean enough but there was something that looked like mold on the ceiling in the rest room. I mentioned it to the front office. I also wish others staying at the hotel would not smoke just outside their rooms. The smell comes in even with our door shut.

The front desk accomdated me for checking in eariy. I was soo tired from traveling for 6 hours in the night and randomly picked this hotel so I could sleep. I was so worried I would have to wait in my car until the proper check in time and lucky enough they found a room ready for me. It was very clean and the check out time was speedy.

Staff was great, Room was a little dated. Great location for me.

We ended up leaving and paying for another hotel. It was dirty. Stains on the bed. Garbage in the garbage can. Concerned about the safety of our vehicle being parked outside. Not well lite parking.

night staff was friendly however they claimed you didnt need a mask but WV is still a masked state. Morning crew did have mask and were even friendlier upon check out. Got charged a $2 fee for a safe i didnt need. Also upon coming up to our room other guest were having sex in the hall and i had to keep my small children in the ill light stairs till we could get to our room. water pressure in the shower was great toilet did not flush well room was nasty lamp had some sort of residue all over it but since we were only staying to sleep and then get back on the road we just dealt with it. i stayed here years ago and it was not like this we will not be staying here again even if it is just to sleep as the area has become run down as well as the hotel.

The room was pretty full of bugs right away. We squashed a cockroach in the bathroom, swatted flies while getting ready for bed, and saw husks dead pill bugs in the corners. In addition, the room itself was in shabby shape with some of the stucco on the ceiling hanging down in places and a variety of obvious paint touch ups. All of these things, coupled with a general dampness today every soft surface, and this is not a place I’ll stay again.
