The Cheshire

The hotel was fine no major highlights looks very citchy with lots of nicknacks on the walls, think medieval times restaurant. Bed was comfortable but the pillows were small for a king bed and sheets had a makeup stain which made me wonder if they had been changed. Shower was best part of the stay, nice and high pressure shower head. Location was a little far from downtown (15 min drive) but near the Zoo, we were just stopping through so not much of an issue. Check in was quick and smooth check out took a bit longer. Breakfast was a nice addition but nothing to write home about. The only major issue was the fact that the fire alarm went off a 4 AM, I called the front desk to see if we should evacuate after not seeing any smoke and they didn’t seem concerned and asked if I had my shower on? I thought this was strange that they would say that. My thought is it could mean two things; they either don’t have a fully connected fire system which isn’t safe or they have multiple issues like this that could wake you up if someone is taking a hot shower in the morning which is an inconvenience. I’d give them a 5/5

Needs to be dusted. Carpet needs to be renewed. Bathrooms need to be updated.

I was having some construction done in my home and needed a quiet get away. The Cheshire is such a charming hotel, lovely ambiance and walking distance to Forest Park. The staff was friendly-& we got to go on their scavenger hunt

Been disappointed a few years with this place (my go to spot for 15+ yrs), but they redeemed themselves this time. Had a great stay. A few changes, but mostly due to covid. I'll be back

The room wasn’t clean, we were smelling cigarettes all night long; the hallway/the room has a smell....

The towels had holes in them, the shower curtain had no liner and had no TV at all. Was suppose to give credit but woman behind the counter would not enter lave ccc CFC c as there was a lack communication

Charming character makes the Cheshire a welcome place to stay. The staff is friendly, and the Old World decor is immersive. You will see some scuffs on the doors and the occasional bit of paint touch-up needed, but this is natural. The alarm clock in our room had the wrong time and couldn’t be reset, so I used my phone alarm. Convenient location. Basso restaurant was great. Definitely would stay here again.

This hotel was all about England. Since I used to live there, it was a pleasant surprise. I only stayed one night, but room was comfortable and English looking. I was disappointed there was no British breakfast because of covid, but there were cereals and pastries. I look forward to going back!

The hotel staff was kind and offered good service, but our room was super dirty. The carpet was so gross that we all had black feet. Clean the rooms more effectively and the hotel would be great.

The room was outdated and the bathroom very small. Two could not fit with any level of ease. The character of the place is cool but needs serious updating of amenities.
