We booked a suite and the air conditioning wasn’t working. We told them right away and they kept sending maintenance to fix it, say it was fixed but it was not fixed. Took until the second night to tell us it wasn’t working. We were then downgraded to a room that had a tiny bathroom, loose faucet, half of the outlets didn’t work and had to fight with them to even get a discount. They were very unaccommodating. Their resort fee included bottled water but then they said it was only complimentary the first day. I had the maid throw out pasteries I bought and when I asked her-she came back with the bag after she admitted she threw it in the garbage and tried to give it back to me! I asked for some sort of compensation for the maids inappropriate cleaning but the front desk said he couldn’t do anything?! Just horrible service and staff.

Cockroaches

The room was clean, but we did realize that there were cockroaches in the headboard and the bathroom. Very disappointing since the staff was very friendly and helpful. Would not stay again.

No creo llegue ni a 3 estrellas

Lo venden como 4 estrellas y estimo es 2,5 estrellas. Oscuro, básico y pocos detalles. Auque dicen que si, no dan asistencia al parking, aunque hay uno casi al lado, pero manejan tarifas como quieren y un día nos costo 60$ y no como publican. Al llegar no hay donde bajar maletas, el personal poco atento.

The room door did not match the door jam. Every door closing every conversation in the hallway seemed it was in your room as well. Large gaps on top and on side of door and doot jam.

The staff was amazing and the rooms we very clean! AC was on full power mode, some nights I actually slept without it!

The air conditioner made so much noise you could not leave it on to sleep it’s also a fire hazard that both the fan and compressor made noise it was ridiculous gave me a headache every morning also the food was always cold it was premade and then heated with lamps

The front desk clerk was amazing. They kept our bags while we roamed the city. Even after we checked out. Very accommodating.

The location is excellent for a South Beach experience. So much is close by and is walkable. The Essex House is separate from the Clevelander which houses the night club, pool, etc. The hotel is in need of an upgrade. The carpets are filthy and the rooms are small. The bathrooms provide little space for your things (picture balancing your toothbrush on a window sill). They are missing basic conveniences like an ice machine and wifi that consistently works. They charge a $100.00 a night deposit for damages and I am still waiting to see if this will be resolved on my credit card. One of the staff seemed absolutely annoyed to interact with my partner and I when we needed something while another staff member was quite helpful. I would not book here again.
