Heron House - Adult Only

This was our second opportunity to stay at Heron House and we have to say that the property is in need of remodeling and a relook at some of the service personnel. As for the facilities, the pool needs attention in way of the combing and tilework. Also, the cleaning needs to be addressed hourly. Parking is a problem in Key West, but we were given conflicting information as to using the front area. The rooms, although clean, need a redo. The beds and pillows are very poor quality and the sheets, etc., are overly worn. The bathroom tile and grouting is very poor. Breakfast was nice, but the lady dishing up sausage and eggs not not...no personality and prefers to use her phone in lieu of providing a smile and properly cooked eggs. Too bad, because thia used to be a fine respite. As for posted pool rules, either enforce them or remove them.

We were there three nights. Location to Duval St is awesome. Grocery store is just around the corner.

QUAINT LOCATION

STAY WAS GREAT NICE ROOM CLEAN TOWELS EVERY DAY AND A NICE BREAKFAST EACH MORNING. EVERYONE WAS FRIENDLY AND CAN'T BEAT THE LOCATION

Beautiful Place in an excellent location.

The things we loved... Great room; had a private 2nd floor balcony. The pool courtyard was lovely and they offered coffee/breakfast options in the morning. The location was excellent; an easy walk to downtown Duval and the various shopping and entertainment establishments you'd usually want to frequent, but far enough away to avoid the loud noise. The staff was very friendly. The things that were not great... While the linens were clean and good quality, the pillows were hard as a rock, so that was a disappointment. And the Wifi was either not available or when you were using it, it was extremely slow, so it was basically useless. If you cannot handle stairs, be sure to ask for a 1st floor room.

Our first room in the back had only a box spring mattress to slleep on. The bathroom was tiny. We asked to be moved to another room in which they did accommodate. The room was slightly smaller but taller ceiling. We decided to stay. During the evening and night we had multiple ants and bugs in the bathroom. One was crawling on my husband's razor. We got up at 5am to get our things together to move. No one at the front desk until 10 am. At 8am the person putting the breakfast together was there . As we gave him our key to turn in there were flies all over the food. I called Hotels.com after several tries finally talked to someone who felt this was ad disgusting as we did. For $440 per night this is ridiculous. As we talk to different people in Key West they say they hear nothing but bad things about this hotel. As much as I think I should get my money back for false advertisements it should be removed from any hotel list. I have yet heard back from the hotel or hotels.com. At the moment I'm dissatisfied with both of them.

Nice place

Nice place walking distance to everything. Shower needs work with caulking and dripping water. A/C unit turns off and on frequently and the noise wakes you up. Painters were painting our windows first thing in the morning so we had no privacy in our room and it made us rush to leave because who wants to sit in a closed curtain room? It detracted from our stay, we were not told (I literally walked out of the shower with no clothes in to see workers out my second story window). For the price of the place I felt we should have been notified and given a discount. We had no time to relax in private in our room on our only morning there.

Everything was comfortable in our room except for the pillows on the bed. I think it's time for a new set!

What an amazing hotel

First of all the welcoming was amazing. Chuck took care of us very well. Show us where we can park the car and gave us good recommendations in the neighborhood. Then everybody was so nice , Cute breakfast . We really loved it for our 1st time and will definetly come back . Thans again to all the team of Heron House
