Sheraton Kauai Coconut Beach Resort

We had a great visit. The staff was very helpful. The rooms were very clean and large. The cafe staff were excellent

Awesome poolside bar...with amazing bartenders/servers! Only complaint is that the beach was full of downed trees/branches. it could be that they just havent had the chance to clean it up it maybe that's just he way it is. Maid service and front desk all great!

Great place, nice and not over crowded

We booked an ocean view and ended up with a room above the loading dock (room 256) and next to the freight elevator. At 6am we were awakened by the sound of a truck backing up and unloading. The contractors unloading were very load on the loading dock and then outside our room. Pool side, we witnessed an employee greet a person off the beach, while shaking hands, it looked like a small package was exchanged between them. Hmmmm. Overall, the facility was clean and our room was as well. Because of our room location, we overpaid.

Brooke was wonderfully welcoming at check in. The Sheraton Coconut Beach is a smaller Kauai property, not a huge resort. Rooms are adequate (a bit musty smelling), pool area is nice. Located in Kapaa, access to many local restaurants and shops is easy.

When we booked our reservation we specifically selected and paid extra for a room with a balcony and ocean view; however, the room we were given was in the first floor, so no balcony, and our windows looked at the swimming pool. We asked the hotel for the room type we booked and were told they had no other options. We also complained to Expedia about this and they sided with hotel because they said we could see the ocean on the other side of the pool. All we received from Expedia was a $200 credit to use towards another trip package, but we will not be booking through Expedia again since they clearly cannot guarantee we’ll get the room type we reserve.

Location was best. Of course it would have been nice to be more truthful about some of the things... such as "free WiFi" nope... I PAID FOR IT! RESORT FEE. Complimentary drink... NOPE! I PAID FOR IT! RESORT FEE. FREE PARKING for car... NOPE!!!! I PAID FOR IT RESORT FEE!!! Please... it might sound terrific to state you getting this and that, but in reality you are being charged for it. People are magically transformed, and tend to forget.
