Mercure Lyon Centre Plaza République

The hotel was per se ok, but for four stars I'd expect more attention to details: - Staff at reception was friendly but slow, unexperienced, with limited language skills, and not really up to the task - Shower looked cheap, dust and debris from the walls in the bathroom felt on the floor all the time - Bed and room were rather small - Breakfast was good, but limited space and staff was slow in re-filling bread, cheese, bacon etc. - Staff at the bar looked very bored and unmotivated

The hotel position was excellent as was the service and general ambiance. The only negative was that the room was very small.

It was a wonderful stay.

The staff were very friendly and even upgraded us to a suite which was very nice and considering it was the last night of our 4 week Europe trip it was very much appreciated. The hotel is in a good location and central to everything. We would definitely recommend staying here.

Great location, nicely appointed, very small rooms but adequate rooms and bathrooms, updated with quality. Best hotel breakfast buffet I have ever had—fresh squeezed orange juice, automatic espresso machine, warm mini crepes, fresh croissants and bread, delicious jam.

Excellent location, excellent staff. BIG shout-out to Benjamin who helped us out BIG TIME! He deserves some kudos, I hope the hotel sees this.

Small rooms in Mercure traditions but location is perfect for one night in the city center for shopping or sightseeing.

Room was hot and tiny, the bathroom door didn’t even fully open, the shower flooded the bathroom floor.

We had very poor check-in. We arrived and 9:30 am and were told the room would be ready at 3:00. It wasn't. We had to wait for an hour while the maid cleaned the room. We didn't get in it until 4:00. The hotel knew we were there and could have cleaned the room to be ready as promised. We would not stay there again.

The hotel was convenient to everything, comfortable and quiet. The rooms, by US standards, are small but were well equipped and appointed. When we are in Lyon again, we will probably stay at this hotel.
