Monarch Inn

The property was conveniently located in a small town near the west gate Yosemite enterance. It provided a nice continental breakfast with plenty of selections and the room was clean. Met our needs for a one night stay. Plenty of parking. I would stay there again. The only thing that they could improve is the lobby presence. It was low season so not many guests, however, when I called the front desk no one answered and that felt a bit strange.

I have wonderful things to say about this hotel. The staff were super, the make sure our stay was comfortable. They were very accommodation with us when Expedia refused to match as their logo says” to price match. I called Expedia to tell them that it went down in price by $9 dollars which I original book it for but denied to price match. The hotel felt terrible for us and reduce the rate to the lowest price. That’s Custimer service at its best from the Monarch Inn. Bravo!! Expedia shame on you!!!

Luv the free breakfast. Just an hour from Yosemite. Quaint little town. Friendly receptionists . Need new blanket but bathroom is clean and brand new. price is within budget. Overall Good.

Cozy little inn close to the YART to go into Yosemite. Really great breakfast, loved the omelette and sausages. Coffee and tea to-go was really handy. Rooms were spacious and very clean. We couldn't figure out how to get the TV to work but we didn't ask the front desk because it wasn't a big deal for us.

Well located to visit Yosemite. Close to many dining options.

The room was nice, although our view wasn't great. The staff were very nice and courteous. The main issue was the beds were very hard and the had a mat under the sheets that kept crumpling up. It was so uncomfortable we had a hard time sleeping. I got a bad headache as a result and we had to cut our vacation short, which was unfortunate. I did ask the staff after the first night, but was told that all the rooms had the same beds.

Terrible experience(!) I have had to cut my stay short and leave after 2 nights out of 3 nights booked. The evening prior to the second night i have asked the front desk lady (very nice and polite pregnant lady) if its ok to check out after 2/3 nights and she responded 'yes, we will charge you only for the nights stayed, no problem". The next morning when checking out, another front desk lady said 'no problem, just clear this with Expedia and we will charge you for 2 nights only". I then checked out and called Expedia, and the support said that they need to clear it with the hotel. The Monarch Inn manager then refused the partial refund and claimed that its in the fine-print (48 hours notice). When I mentioned that the first front desk rep' said it was ok, and upon that we have changed our plans, she responded 'if it makes you happy i can let go of the pregnant lady tomorrow'... I then said 'of course not, it is your responsibility as a manager to both properly train your employees, but more important - back them up when they make mistakes' - her response was, again: 'if it makes you happy i will fire her tomorrow before end of day..' so to summarize: terrible experience, terrible management... threatening a customer with firing a pregnant employee?! come on...

Walking distance to restaurants and shops. Clean and comfortable. Affordable with hot breakfast included. Our room had no closet which I found a bit odd, but we didn’t need one for one night.
