Hampton Inn Jackson

Stopped in Jackson for a brief family visit, as my sister just moved to the Jackson area. Staff were helpful and courteous. I will plan to stay at this Hampton Inn again during future visits.

Below average for Hampton Inn, I expect a bit cleaner, bit more new, older stuff not replaced.

Unfortunately there was a storm that took out power in our original hotel, so we quickly looked for a place that was available. We booked The Hampton instantly so we could have a place to stay. When entering our room there, we were hit with a smoky musk. It was clear that someone had been smoking in the room before we had arrived. Then we tried to turn on the first light....that didn't work. For some reason too, the wifi signal did not reach our room so we couldn't connect during our stay. There was also a sticky part on the carpet where your foot would constantly get stuck. And lastly, when checking in, we were never told about the free breakfast situation. I understand that COVID 19 is making things difficult but we were told that they normally have bagged meals for people to take but they wouldn't have any for the weekend we were there because they weren't ordered. I've never been so disappointed in a hotel that cost me nearly $100 a night. I tried to cancel my stay with them once my original hotel was back with power (an hour after checking in) but The Hamptons said they would still charge us the nightly rate since we had already left our bags in the room. We had even offered to pay for the cleaning service, and still they wanted to charge for a full nights stay when we had only left our bags and gone out for dinner. At that point, we would have slept in the car instead of being so desperate for a room.

The staff at the Hampton Inn are awesome! I also love how everyone stays to themselves and mind their own business

No refrigerator

We were not informed until arrival that no breakfast, coffee, or pool would be available. Yes, maybe we should have checked that in advance. However, the Friday afternoon check-in clerk was not friendly, said "no food, no coffee, no food" - really a discouraging person. We later found that is was her vehicle parked under the covered veranda at the front door for several hours. We were NOT made aware that our room would not be serviced until we found the next day that nothing was made up and we didn't have new towels. The rate was cheap, that's about all that was good.

Very tough to sleep with a dog barking across the hall!!!!

Peggy checked me in and she was wonderful and so helpful. I checked in during social distancing and the hotel was set up very well to help me and everyone be safe. Thank you for accommodating me in this difficult time

The hotel was fine. Service was great. With the corona virus, pool and food service was suspended but that is best for now. The room was very comfortable. The mattress was great even with my back problems.

There were bedbugs in the bed and 3 days later, I called for an update on my refund and there has still been no pest control to spray smh.
