Carlton Capri Hotel

They need to improve the shower door . It’s our first time in Venice and took the shared coach from the airport. The hotel is kind to difficult to locate, it’s hidden.

Carlton Capri is the more modest extension of their Grand Hotel a short walk away. The rail road station is very close. The rooms are very dated for the price point of this property. The front desk is very helpful and open 24 hours which is not always common at this price point.

Location was ok but very hard to find for first time visitor. No views from hotel. Reception are was good but rooms and stairways definitely need refurbished. Night shift person was not very welcoming when we arrived didn't seem interested.

The location was perfect. The views were -- there were none.

Great location! Close to train and canal. reat shops and great restaurants near by.

The room was nice and clean, but was small. I'm average size and the shower was very tight; I felt like slightly bigger people would have a problem taking a shower there... The staff at hotel was amazing! They were very friendly and took a good time to explain us about Venice and gave us some very nice tips! So ask them whatever you want and they will help you with a big smile! The breakfast was nice and had a decent variety of breads, fruits, cereal, yogurt, etc... The hotel is very close to the main train station (S. Lucia). However, if you try using google maps to get you there, it will give you directions to wrong place (although it places the pin at the right place in the map!!). So look at the map and figure out how to get there walking - it's actually easy to find but you can't take the actual directions from google maps in this case - this is not an issue with the hotel. The hotel is not very close to the main attractions in Venice (like St Mark's Square), but to me it was better to be closer to the train station so we didn't have to carry our luggage all around Venice to get to hotel... Also, this hotel is "related" to the big "Carlton on the Grand Canal" hotel, so you can make reservation for dinner at their rooftop, which has a very nice view. Overall, I would stay there again when I go back to Venice!

Very convenient. Walkable from the train station (Santa Lucia), but be weary of taking your luggage across the bridge steps. Getting there is a bit tricky as the hotel sits in a small alley off the main walkway with no sign. You have to just follow the alley next to the Carlton on the Grand Canal.
