AC in room not working. Breakfast was poor (had been kept under hot lamp for some time). Cost of drinks in bar excessive. Hotel and grounds fantastic. If the service was better then would be a better review.

Generally good. Food was really good. Only negative would be the TV in the Executive room 203 only had freeview and most of the channels did not work.

Great place but food not good enough
Venue is lively and this is the third time we have stayed. The food is not good enough though and hasn’t been each time we have stayed. This is the first time we had dinner here, and the £35 per head was too much for 4 choices of mediocre food. Several tables complained about the food. We won’t stay again unfortunately.

A nice hotel with good facilities. Good breakfast. Only complaint is the sound proofing between the rooms, we could hear exactly what people were saying! Fortunately didn’t really affect us too much!

Feedback for one night B&B stay.
The hotel is very grand, clean throughout and with a certain ambience. However, whilst the service was fine, it did seem to be a bit perfunctory, both at reception and in the restaurant. One specific issue however was noise - not from guests - from, I assume the heating system, which seemed to be rumbling and roaring a lot of the night. As such, it was not a good night's sleep. Breakfast was ok but seemed to be a little disorganised. Tea and coffee only provided when we asked for it - this shoudl either be a available in the restaurant, or be one of the first quesions 5o be asked. Food on offer was fine, although the full English breakfast was lukewarm, did not include black pudding, and it was quite obvious that the sausages, bacon and eggs (which were poached instead of fried) had been sat, not fresh cooked. Overall, it was not a bad stay but for a 4 star, I think I expected a little more.
