Fairfield Inn by Marriott Columbia Northwest

The property is old and needs updating. There were several maintenance issues that I had to report including black mold on the ceiling over the bed.

My Family and I had a reservation here and it was terrible we were told last minute about incidental fees so we end up leaving our free already paid room for another hotel biggest mistake ever will not reccommend this hotel

Bathroom was dirty and the air did not work. The front desk said she will put it in her notes. The manager on duty didn’t try to make it better.

My stay at the Fairfield Inn Marriott Columbia Northwest was great. The property is very well maintained. They rooms are comfortable, spacious and extremely clean which is definitely appreciated in these times of Covid 19. I would recommend this property to anyone coming into Columbia, SC.

The room was very nice. Housekeeping needs to be monitored better. When we arrived in our room there were some dirty socks on the floor. Also the body wash dispenser, shampoo dispenser was empty as well as the hair conditioner dispenser. There were drinks left in refrigerator from previous guest as well.

Tv did not work, people loud and drinking beer all over property. Outlets did not work in room. The worst experience I’ve had in over 5000 hotels nights.

Everything about this place was just average. The room was decently clean but not fresh smelling. A couple of the bed pillows smelled awful so I pushed them aside. The inside of the microwave was covered in popcorn butter. It was tough to get the A/C temp. right to take away the mugginess without being too cold (a few degrees off what you'd expect). The bathroom exhaust fan didn't work and the sink faucet was not operating smoothly. A big bunch of tissues were stuffed back in the box which was weird. I threw that ball away but was still leery of using the untouched ones left in the box. Of course their complimentary body wash which is locked in a shower holder ran out too. Not worth the money I spent by a long shot. I slept in my truck the next night of my journey because of this disappointment and not wanting to be discouraged the next morning.

Only thing that’s was bothering was the room didn’t smell pleasing. It smelled musty other than that it was fine.

When we arrived to our room we noticed that the air was not working. We called the front desk they told us that we could change rooms. Got to the second room had the same problem. My boyfriend tried to tell the front desk that there may have been a problem with the electrical break for the air conditioning units but they ignored him. We told them about the second room not having air, so they moved us to another room...the third room also had NO AIR. We got so tired of changing rooms we just stayed in the 3rd room...with no air

Upon arrival we discovered our room had dried urine on the bathroom floor. Since no one was available in the hotel to clean, we were moved to another room. That room had dried blood on the bedspread, towel rack fell off the wall and bathroom door wouldn't close. The door would scrap on the tile creating a horrible noise. So now onto the third room that had spiders in the bathroom and a sink that wouldn't drain. We had three rooms in 24 hours. Hotel staff said issues would be addressed, however follow up was zero. Stay away, save your hard earned money. Plus, upon check in you had to request maid service. We were not told and didn't receive cleaning service our first day.
