Mercure York Fairfield Manor Hotel

Good value stay.Huge room and good location too.Dinner at the restaurant was great.

Took over 15 mins to check in as only 1 on counter. After checking in we decided to have a refreshment at the bar abd wsited a further 25 minutes. Wufi is very very poir abd midt if the time none existent.Very large bag of rubbish outside of room. Noise of lift up abd door was a nuisance. Bed comfortable. Scaffolding outside of room. Asked if wd wanted any taxi so we said yes. Hotel said they would book taxi into York and return. At 10.15pm no taxi showed - hotel did not book return taxi. Dining room at breakfast lovely, however had to waut fir bread refilled abd hit foids replenished ( others had to wait to yet were no dreadfulky busy) Overall fir the cost of tge room £140 - i felt tge experience was poor

Nice buildings, staff helpful and friendly, car parking spaces a little tight.

Clean and comfortable stay

Property run down and in need of modernisation especially the bathroom. Staff were excellent, food very good.

On the whole staff were great , bar staff were never in the bar always had to wait while they turned up . Food could be better , breakfast great , evening meal average at more than average prices .

Rooms are a little dated but clean. Disappointed we didn’t have any hot water for a shower or bath. Mentioned it to reception but didn’t have any even after an hour

Lovely hotel. Excellent reception and waiting staff. Cleaners were disappointing. Dirty cups left in room, dirty quilt cover left on. Tea/coffee not replaced. Bed very comfortable but pillows unfortunately were not. Overall a good stay with a few minor issues.

Nice clean hotel. Decor is abit dated but very comfortable room.

Great service and room. Breakfast quality of cooking could be better. Otherwise very pleasant stay and would return.
