Collegian Hotel & Suites, Trademark Collection by Wyndham

We have stayed at this hotel many times when it was called the Genesee Grande. We always had a great experience. This was the first time we stayed since taken over by Scholar and we will not be back. We had a King Kitchen Suite, very spacious but room was very dirty. No garbage bag in the kitchen trash can, found candy wrappers on the floor so obviously the floor was not cleaned, had to wear shoes because otherwise my feet were black due to the dirty floors. Upon inspection of the kitchen, the cupboards and drawers were very dirty. We ate several meals in our room and needed to use the dishes and silverware so I ran everything thru the dishwasher, including the silverware tray which was dirty. I brought Clorox wipes with me due to COVID as an extra precaution but certainly did not have enough to do the cleaning I needed to to feel completely safe and I certainly did not babe anything to clean the floors with. Our first night around 1130 PM, there was a party above our room that was so loud that our light over the dining room table was swinging because the floors were being pounded on and vibrating. I did call to the desk and someone was sent to quiet the room. Night 2, there was a smell coming thru the air conditioning vent, I was unable to figure out what the smell was and it disappeared by morning. Nice hotel, good service. However maintenance could be better. One room had hot plate not working, the other only one burner working. The heating system was not working properly during the first night. But we got extra blankets , so it was OK. Staff was very nice and helpful.

Centrally located, but not good if looking for private n quiet. Every door is heavy in this place and closes way to loud! So on a weekend or party night like Halloween, all I can hear was doors slamming into the late evening. My other problem was cleaning service. I put a privacy tag on my door as I stepped out to eat lunch. I came back and my door was open. Had to tell them that’s why there is a privacy sign on the door.

It was spotless. I wish it had a bigger refrigerator but I made it work. Right now they had some college kids staying there. I'm assuming to abide by the social distancing guidelines at the University. I thought there would be loud partying but that wasn't the case. They put me in top floor at the end without asking to avoid noise. Parking was only $10/day. I didn't have any problems at all.

Had to call front desk at 2am to report a loud party next door. It lasted from 2am-7:30am with loud voices, furniture being moved, doors slammed as people came in and out and loud conversations outside room in hallway. No security came up rather the girl from front desk came up. No compensation was made to me. I've stayed here several times - always an issue. Never again!!!

i liked the blinds in our room as well as the size. there was a weird smell, the bed was dirty, there was no pool and the cleanliness overall was terrible.

The “King bed” was a double at best! They had college students staying here and put us right next to them. Multiple calls throughout the night to ask them to quiet the students - starting at around 11:20 pm and they did not get them quiet! It was 4:53 AM when we finally heard the boy yell down the hall to his departing guests, “thanks for coming - see you tomorrow” by then, we had 1 hour to get up. I asked for two things when I called to confirm my booking - a king bed and a quiet location! Neither happened! I stay here twice a year and have never experienced anything like this ridiculousness!

Had to wait quite a while to check in, Staff very pleasant though. Got room upgrade and free breakfast. Hotel renovation very nice. Going to start charging for parking after 10/1 though...
