Hampton Inn Killeen

The room was as I expected but the rest of the hotel wasn’t what I’ve come to expect from a Hampton. There were stains in the hallway carpeting, sold-out vending machines and the smell of cigarette smoke in our hallway.

The concierge was wonderful and very helpful each day of our stay.

Close to my family home, after traveling from Wichita Falls to Austin to Killeen I was so tired!

The stay was good for what I needed the a/c did freeze up at 3 am and the room was a little dated but clean.

I stayed at this hotel several times before. I like the location. Service is always good. When I booked my room this time, I ended up with a smoking room. I did not know they had smoking rooms at a hotel any longer. I was not able to change rooms. The smoke smell was definitely a spoiler for this hotel. I will absolutely make sure next time to make sure I get a non smoking room. We had our young kids with us. I was able to let them stay with family in the area so they would not smell like smoke also. The last night we were able to stay with family.

Overall the hotel is good. I stayed for 4 nights on a business trip. Breakfast was great every morning. Its an older renovated hotel...and those renovations are looking a little outdated now too. The staff was very friendly and professional. The king size bed was comfy and rooms are clean. The area is noisy with the highway and busy roads, but i just left my heat or AC fan on all night and it drowned out the city noise.

The temperature outside went below freezing and our room had a broken heater that produced no heat. I should have requested a change of rooms but was too tired and didn't.

The property is older and that is ok. But the cleanliness is lacking in rooms.
