I just finished my stay at Starfish Tobago. The place was nice aesthetically but there were many issues. I will highlight them here in case anyone needs this information. •The Check-In time was advertised as 3pm but our room wasn’t ready until 4pm so we had to wait an hour. They did, however, give us the bands and allow us to use the facilities while we waited. •For all of the meals we had there, there was a long wait and a long line. The meals were not on time and the line was long because there was only one server who also had to run to the kitchen to replenish when the food ran out. When this occurred, it caused delays up to 15 minutes long. For maybe 2 out of the 8 meals we had there, there was an extra server but for the most part it was the one Reuben who was doing all the work. •It was difficult to get a towel change. We had to ask numerous times and finally got to collect some at the front desk many hours later. •The pool was dirty. There were lots of particles, hair, specks in the pool and in some cases a dirty white film. It didn’t seem like it was cleaned daily. •The WiFi did not seem to be working. The Good Points: •The bar service was good. There was always someone at the bar and the drinks were mixed well and in a timely manner. •The receptionists were pleasant. •Reuben (the server/chef) was extremely patient, polite and pleasant. •The food was delicious.

Starfish have upgraded from the last time I have been there. We had a group of 27 persons and they accommodated us with our own tables and ensure we always having fun, hydrated and happy. We were there before the rush on the Easter holiday and left a coupl days after this gave us the opportunity to actually see the resort in full capacity and less. It was hassle free dining and drinks service when it was less crowded but you had a wait for food and drinks when we had a sold out crowd.This should have been attended to differently because it would have been known to the resort of the increase of persons being there for that period and the staff who are experienced and ready to serve was now overwhelmed with duties that they never get to really give the guests the welcome and sent off like how we got it. I know Covid 19 had taken away a lot of business and this appeared to be the first in 12 months that the resort has this type of crowd but guests became unhappy and disgruntled when having to wait on food or drinks.Our room was very comfortable my hubby spent alot of time on the bed as it was indeed comfy. My kids enjoyed the pool and beach as it was so comforting to just stay in one location and be able to supervise.For me after so much days if I have to change anything at the resort I would change the local type food even though it tastes delicious it was like eating the same thing over for days. Esther, Selvon,Raul and the housekeeper was wonderful....

The property definately needs a external clean up and a paint job. Check in was great from the person at the desk to Raul who served us our welcome drinks. Then there was a Lionel Richie look alike bar tender who was very rude to us and was not hospitable at all, we had to beg for drinks and had to wait on him to come of his phone for him to serve us and everything we asked for be it a mixed drink the blender wasn't working then 5 to 10 minutes after for other people it was working. This happened throughout our stay there. The rooms were clean but the air-conditioning was not working properly and it was hot all night, the porch was okay except for the moss that accumulated to the side where the air-conditioning condenser was, the toilet was also broken and we had to hear the toilet run water all night. The housekeeper also was rude when we asked for a little bottle of cream as we had used out the first cream we got. Breakfast was great from staff to taste of already cooked food, the egg chef when we ordered our eggs and told him what we wanted he just did his own thing, lunch the food was not satisfying like breakfast and all the staff when we looked at them for assistance its like they didn't want to assist us. This also happened throughout our stay. Upon check out when we arrived at the desk the woman just took our room key and said okay you can leave now. No Thank you or anything.

We arrived on time for our 3.00pm check in and waited almost two hours. For the first two days, there was no hot water, and the room was leaking as well as the WiFi not functional. Because of our persistence eventually they agreed to move us to another room by day 3 because the entire block was without hot water. Management said they would give us free wine and fruits ( we paid for all inclusive ) but that was no done. We booked a fourth day stay but upon visiting the front counter was told that we would have to switch room and we would be called by the manager. After 4 hours wasting time we left the room. The call didn’t come.

Overall the beach and pool area are fantastic! The variety of food needs to be expanded especially for kids. The WiFi throughout the facilities need to be boosted.

The hotel is a let down , first off at checkin they wanted to charge us extra for kids , then I showed them my booking and they said ok , secondly the rooms we horrible, paint falling off the walls , bed is hard , bathroom scary . Food and drinks were good , pool dirty . Hotel is run down .
