The Westin Southfield Detroit

The toilet didn’t work nor did the plumbing in the tub. When take shower tub would fill up like taking a bath. Had to wait on maintenance to fix issue. Then woke up to My vehicle broken into and items were stolen while parked in parking structure. When complained to front desk the offered to upgrade my next night to suite but of course it was something wrong with that room also, there was no HOT water in room so couldn’t take bath or shower. Was told maintenance couldn’t fix till next morning so only option was to tak shower in room across hall (which was unacceptable). And all suites was booked so couldn’t switch room or anything so I canceled the third and upcoming days due to circumstances. Overall stay was horrible

My stay was terrible I was locked out of my room for over an hour. Call twice for them to let me in and I still had to wait because the master key wouldn’t work and also I was just on please with the stay overall. I feel like I was not accommodate it the way I should have been for being locked out of my room and for calling twice to get in my room and still having to have to wait

Dirty halls, elevators spills , cigarette and tobacco everywhere People sleeping in lobby people just hanging out everywhere felt unsafe.. Was charged to Park per day very unsatisfactory will not stay again

Upscale, plush hotel with friendly service!

We had issues from the start. The room that we booked was different than the room given. We only had one bed when we booked a junior suite with a king bed and a sofa sleeper. When I brought it to the attention of the front desk they told me I should’ve booked a double queen. I pointed out that we prefer the space of a suite and was told she could move me to a double queen room. I requested two adjoining rooms to accommodate the space that we booked and paid for. She was able to make that happen. When we arrived at the new rooms, one smelled completely of marijuana. And when the shower steamed the bathroom, writing could be seen all over the mirror. In the middle of a Covid pandemic, clean bathrooms are a minimum requirement. This lapse was brought to the attention of the cleaning staff but nothing was done. We have stayed at this hotel many times before. However, as the service seems to dwindle each time. We are unlikely to stay here again.

Nice room layout and big beautiful hotel but the air conditioning barely worked and it was hot and muggy in the room. It also smelled like someone had been smoking in there. The shower floor felt slimy - I literally jumped back out of it as soon as I felt it. The refrigerator didn't work well either. I had to get ice from the ice machine and fill a ziploc bag with it to keep things cold. Overall disappointment, which is unusual for a Westin property.

However the bed was uncomfortable and there was a stains on the carpet. Room needs minor upgrades!

Service was good and hotel team members very friendly. The hotel grounds were the dirtiest I've ever seen. The parking lot was littered with tons and tons of fast food trash - fast food containers, grocery bags full of trash, the trash can at the dog area was over flowing with garbage. I was surprised that no one was assigned to look after the grounds in the morning and afternoon.

My wife and I, vowed our lives to each other on August 15th, 2020. Once we returned back home, from our getaway at the Detroit Chateau Mansion. My Queen, “highly recommended” that we should stay in a hotel for the night. The Westin Southfield is so relaxing and comforting. The room was very clean, the staff was friendly and very helpful.
