Radisson RED Hotel London Heathrow

Excellent

I always wondered how some people arrived at the airport after a layover looking so fresh and put together! I don’t anymore—now I know they stay at places like Radisson RED the night before. Slept like a baby and the shower was divine. Quick taxi to the airport and everything was excellent.

Good location and room, poor communication

This hotel was nice enough and the room was comfortable. However, arrival was another story. - Both myself and my husband called the front desk repeatedly, various extensions, and could not get ahold of anyone - We could not get the shuttle to pick us up because no one would answer the phone, and had to resort to a taxi pickup - Upon arrival, the shuttle was out front, ready to take customers to the airport - We could not get a clear schedule of frequency of the shuttle, so again had to resort to a taxi - Check-in upon arrival took almost an hour, with a huge line of folks behind us. There were plenty of staff roaming the lobby, but only one front desk attendant helping customers. After awhile, the second attendant came to check us in, but had trouble with the system, finding the reservation, and issuing keys

Parking disaster and rip-off

The parking lot was completely inundated with cars and buses. They fined us 100 pounds for using the lot for 20 minutes while we waited in a long check-in line! And they have not responded to our inquiries since then. The shuttle to the airport cannot get close to the hotel due to lot overcrowding. We and others didn't even know the shuttle has come and gone, and we had to pay for Ubers to make our flight on time. They try to eke out extra revenue from parking and thereby create a complete mess that customers pay for.

Noisy lobby and restaurant

Stayed one night before our flight back to the US. Check-in was good. The restaurant/bar was extremely noisy and overcrowded. Food was okay, but the noise level made it uncomfortable. Tried to use the shuttle in the morning, but it stops at other Hotels and takes 45 mins to get to Terminal 3. They also charge for it.

This is a great place to stay near London Healthrow. If you want a quick meal, there is a shop near the hotel that serves tasty Indian food at a reasonable price. Hotel is clean and no permanent carpet for those with allergies.

Please note that the air conditioning unit at the hotel was not working and maintainance came to fix this at 2am which was unsuccssful. We were then moved at 5pm the next day
