Hôtel La Zoologie

There were a few points which led us to rate the hotel lower. Some within management’s control and some not, but important for potential guests regardless. 1. Parking: the description says onsite parking available on request. In reality, that’s not the case. There is a car park across the street which cost around €90 for 5 days 2. Spa: the description notes a steam room and sauna. Actually these are only accessible if you pay the daily charge of €25. Think that should be clarified. 3. Location: the area is not good. Although relatively convenient, we walked out to multiple fights in the park across from the street. If walking to the historic district, you also had to walk through some pretty bad neighborhoods. Not suitable for families. 4. The room: the thermostats were unreliable in both of our rooms and would reset in the middle of the night

Lovely hotel and location, helpful friendly staff

Lovely hotel, great location, helpful friendly staff. Bar area and outdoor seating area are very pleasant. There is a coffee machine but no cups to use with - when we did get them they were taken away by housekeeping so we had to contact reception again to get new ones. Tip - you can get the no. 1 bus from the airport to right outside the front door. Takes about 50 minutes but costs 1.70 euros!

Outstanding, friendly staff. We had a very spacious and clean room. The hotel is thoughtfully designed around its previous incarnation as a zoology building in mind. The hotel was very quiet too despite being on a busy street. We found the location very convenient to the train station and center of Bordeaux and the waterfront area all were within easy walking distance.

Stylish and unique

Very friendly service. The hotel is stylish and unique with comfortable and spacious rooms. Good food to be found in restaurant but would love to see some more/better vegetarian options on the menu. The bar area is also very nice, if a bit expensive. The hotel is within walking distance from the train station.

Très bel hôtel dans un bâtiment atypique. Chambre spacieuse et décorée avec goût. Le quartier n’est pas le plus sympathique de Bordeaux, mais on est vite au centre. Point négatif: la clim qu’on ne peut pas éteindre
