Springhill Suites by Marriott Savannah Midtown

Good hotel

We were a group of 4 adults and 2 kids. The hotels site said it's a suite with 2 bedroom and 2 bathrooms. But when we went to check in at 10.30 pm, the front desk said they don't have a room like that and gave us a single double bed room. Hotels customer care did help us with a free reservation in another room, but it took a 2 hours wait at lobby. Got inside the room at 12.30 Am. Not the experience we were looking for after 5 hrs drive. Not sure if the error in listing was a mistake from the hotel or hotels.com Rooms are good. Nothing exceptional. Not super clean. But we took comforters and pillows from home and wiped surfaces with wipes. Hand sanitizers in lobby was always empty.

Small rooms, not very clean , not enough items in the breakfast area to grab, run out of everything way before they had to close.

Good Service, but rooms do need some upgrades..

I love Marriott properties and I know no property is perfect. This hotel has the potential to be the absolute best; however, much work needs to be done to reclaim its Marriott status. One of the associates assure me they are under new management and the reclamation process has begun. I hope so because this property is in a great spot and has great potential!!!

Very pleasant, beautiful rooms. Love the kitchen set up, full kitchen. Comfortable beds,nice continental breakfast.

The suit was nice, front desk staff were awesome. Will be back!

Site advised recently renovated, did not appear so at all. No soap dish in shower, towel bar was very slanted, water had an odd smell, shower head broken. We have stayed in many Springhill Suites, this was the worst as far as condition. Sleeper couch was horrid to even sit on as it was terribly worn and sunken in. The rooms are much smaller than we we are used to, curtains were stained, bed was right next to the AC unit and made it difficult for my wife or I to get around.

I guess you get what you pay for. We stayed two nights and the first night wasnt bad. The second night though there were unsupervised young adults who kept leaving messes down the hall and i almost tripped over a bottle coming up the stairs. They also were running the halls until the early morning. The pool was colder than expected for an indoor pool. The breakfast was mediocre but understandable due to covid. The staff was helpful. The room seemed cramped for two beds and a pull out couch. But the pricing wasnt bad each night so really you get what you pay for. Could have been worse but not really certain we would stay again if we came through Savannah in the future.

Planned a girls weekend to Savannah. First night was fine. Satisfied at that point with service and room. Second night my friend noticed a dried substance on her headboard. Although we did not know what the substance was for sure we knew what it appeared to be and definitely not pleased! We knew it was definitely not a cleaning substance and during this time of COVID it was a bit unnerving. It definitely would have been unnerving during normal times as well. If it had not been late at night and into our last night of our stay we would have left. Luckily it was a double bed room. We did advise the staff at checkout. Very disappointed as I have stayed at several Marriott locations and this is the 1st issue I have had regarding cleanliness which in turn effected our overall view of our stay.
