Golden Sails Hotel

Good for a getaway.

Good location. Pool and spa stayed full so we could not use. Room is fine, a little rundown, but big bed. Toilet was unusually small.

Extremely disappointed

The maid was beating on our door early in the morning at 8 am and disturbing my emotional support dog and i sleeping, to when i got up to answer, she asked are we staying longer.. which is unusual and some hotels doesn't do this until a hour before check out, some will do it 30 m8ns before checkout. So when i called the front desk to report the disturbance ,he immediately lied and said all hotels does it... apparently he didn't know that i travel for work for over 16 years as a chef and never seen anyone bluntly lied directly in your face! Which i told him that and i know he is lying and shouldn't lie to customers. So when i called they regional which is best Western.. the lady manager was so rude and disrespectful to my fiance and i and said that i was just a angry black man!! Which was extremely unprofessional and im going to speak to a attorney about this!!

Come Sail Away at Golden Sails!

Another great stay at Golden Sails! I always stay here when I’m in the Long Beach area. It’s centrally located near 2nd street (Belmont Shores) and has plenty of dining options in the area. The beds are really comfortable and the in room jacuzzi tub was a nice bonus.

Not as advertised

The experience was more than what was expected or desired. I will start with our arrival. Upon check in we were greeted with a friendly smile and hello. However that’s where our pleasant experience Stopped! We were given a room that was less than acceptable! The bathroom had not been cleaned it didn’t look like the floor had been swept let alone shampooed in the history of the establishment. Being completely exhausted, I reluctantly went down to the front desk to see if we could change rooms, however they didn’t have another available room for us to move to. So we had to wait until the next morning to address the issue. We were accommodated by switching rooms for us and once again that’s where the helpful experience stopped again! Upon returning from our grandmothers funeral we’re returned to our room to only be locked out because they didn’t switch our reservation time when the exchange our rooms in turn we had to pay for an additional night just to get our belongings. They were at this point no longer willing to be accommodating. After paying for an additional night we kept awake by the next rooms barking dogs.. Not excitable and not appreciate. Because of our continued flawed experience, a compensation is being requested!! Signed very disgruntled customer!

You get what you Pay for

The Lobby very nice and clean but once you get into room, terrible. Stains on rug everywhere, sliding door did not latch completely. Need to upgrade immensely, to double pane sliding doors to help keep noise from PCH down. View is gorgeous tho. I would not stay here again....until these upgrades were accomplished.

Restful Stay.

My stay was excellent and the best is its pet friendly. The staff was very helpful and friendly. Especially Maria Navarro. I will be staying there again. Nice place.

Nice hotel and good price. Convenient location. Staff was friendly and the room was clean. Nothing fancy, but it had what I needed and free parking in Long Beach is always nice. I wanted to run on the beach in the morning so I drove to Rosie's Dog Park (8 min drive) where there is a bike and pedestrian path for miles.

We’ve stayed at this place a couple of times before and had felt safe and comfortable. We had a bit of noise coming from next room this time, and the view wasn’t the best. Also missing is the complimentary breakfast that we very much enjoyed in the past.

Golden Sails, a solid choice

Golden Sails is always a good choice; spacious rooms, balconies, clean property. The only thing I don’t like is the crackheads roaming around the parking lot area. The actual property itself is really nice, big pool, hot tubs and a full bar. I like to come here after a night on the town at Belmont Shore. A security guard would give me more peace of mind but overall it’s a good hotel.
