Hotel St. Nicholas

Even though the room does not have a microwave or refrigerator, it is quaint and comfortable. I live the old charm throughout the hotel. Ghost downstairs just fyi.

When you walk through the door for the first time it just has a great feel, comfortable, warm, friendly and clean Don't get me wrong, it ain't modern but thats the beauty of Cripple Creek and thus hotel. Staff are amazing and the steam room bar is just like a real pub should be. Will definitely come back!

Beautiful historic property. Views that go on forever. Close to dining, gaming, etc. Walkable if you can handle hills at high altitude.

Magnificent Superb and More

One of the most memorable visits I've ever had. The bed was super comfortable. The room was spectacular with a view of the whole town below.The staff are friends after a stay at this historical hotel. The decor is outstanding throughout with antique items and paintings. Bill and his staff do an excellent job maintaining this gem.

I was looking forward to my overnight stay. My husband and I were just wanting to get away and spend some alone time together. As soon as we got to our room for the night, my allergies flared up. There was something in that room that caused this. I am highly allergic to cats and certain perfume odors. Especially heavy perfume odors. Right away my sinuses started draining, my eyes burnt and started itching and the coughing started. I coughed all night and did not get any sleep. This is the way cats effect me. Either someone had stayed in that room who has cats and the room was not cleaned throughly or some floral spray was used that caused my allergies to flar up. At one point we went out to our truck to sleep so I could breath. We left at 6am to head home because I felt so miserable. I don't like to leave bad reviews but I just thought that you should be aware of this because there are some people that do have major allergies. When cleaning, clean throughly and please be aware and not use heavy perfumes. Thank You

Great historic building

Wonderful, friendly staff. Room was cozy and clean, with a nice view of the valley. You can walk to restaurants/bars/casinos, but the walk back up the hill is a killer! Definitely make use of the list of shuttles they provide! If you’re into ghosts, you can try catching some activity (we didn’t). Nice bar there, too. Bill was so knowledgeable about the building and area. If we visit Cripple Creek again, we’ll be staying here.
