Hampton Inn Santa Cruz

I booked a accessible room because of my wheelchair chair. The room they gave me was the most narrow room I ever seen. I could not turn around to get out the door. The bath room was the same way. Luckily I did not come alone and had help. They claimed that every accessible room was booked and they saw no notes regarding the accessible room request.

The swimming pool was fantastic. They scheduled private family swimming in a pool that was small, but kept at 85-90 degrees. Very nice.

Location, not great. Beware, you may see random suspicious looking people walking by and around. Or even just sitting in their car (like they live in it) blasting music. It shares the same lot with Denny’s, and is right off the freeway. I personally did not feel safe outside. Front desk people weren’t as informative as I would have hoped. The hotel is right behind some janky apartments. They were playing loud music at night. However, we didn’t use any of the amenities or browse much of the hotel. We stayed in the room the whole time. It was nice and comfortable and clean. Cable was a plus. Bathroom was clean. Except, we found a flea on the bed sheets. It’s one of those bugs that jump. That was unsettling. The room was also not as roomy and it seemed in the pictures.

Our breaks went out when we pulled into hotel. After calling AAA and getting mechanic next AM, front staff was more than helpful to us.

Room was smaller than shown and described but was clean. No hot breakfast available which was one of the things my family was looking forward to from the hotel. Don’t tell my 6 year old there will be waffles in the morning and then decide to serve cold bagels instead.

Great hotel very clean. Homeless are active and security patrols seem to help. Breakfast sucks because of COVID but great stay nice beds. You have to ask for room service. Other than that will definitely go back for business.

Great stay. Staff was very helpful and responsive, especially with cleanliness of rooms.

During Covid we were concerned about staying in a hotel but they made us feel very comfortable with their cleaning process and mask requirements.

Hampton Inn is always a great place to stay. Very clean
